I was browsing Etsy and found a pattern using a beautiful stitch. Since I’m however interested in using it for a blanket rather than a cardigan I would like to find information on the stitch elsewhere if possible.
The pattern is called “lace herringbone” but I can’t find anything that looks like it online, and I’m wondering if I’m searching for the wrong thing?
Hi, I'm not a beginner crocheter but I'm also not a really pro crocheter but I want to do something for my siblings birthday (they share the same bday) I have a brother who will complete 10 and he loves gaming and a sister who will complete 16, she has an ipad, she loves tv shows, and tiktok. Their birthday is at August 7. I crocheted a mesh, unfinished granny square blanket, gloves, arm warmers, skirt, bag, hat for a bunny plushie, scarf for a bunny plushie, snake plushie, a shirt that wasn't my size and some keychains. That's all I remember for now but an important fact is that I can't really do magic circles so I want something that's easy and doesn't take a long time. I might do a jumper but I think it's better to make them a surprise gift. Give me ideas and lmk what u think. Also in my city, its really hot so I would recommend something that isnt for winter.
So I want to make said blanket, but I want to use these:
This yarn cake is for a 3mm hook and weighs 100 grams (1000 meters long) would this be enough?
I don't want to buy a second yarn cake because then it would be consistent
Hello! Came from r/crochet with the hopes that someone knows what this pattern is/how I can best locate the pattern? This is my favorite cloth - it is so versatile and I've had it for years since a friend's grandmother gifted it to me. I have so much yarn and want to make more like this. Any ideas?
I don’t understand how people have uniform bars on the right side of their FPDC projects. When I turn my work to start a new row it creates a ridge so I end up with ridges on both sides of my work. Do I need to alternate between FPDC and BPDC in order to get uninterrupted columns throughout my work?? I’m following the instructions from a book and it doesn’t go into detail what to do when you turn your work. I looked all over YouTube but the tutorials also don’t go over how to create columns.
Hi everyone, this is my first post here. I am wondering what this crochet term means, where it says “continue on opposite side.” I guess it’s not really a specific crochet term, just something specific to the author. I know what the rest means. It’s saying to chain 6, then do 2 single crochets in the 2nd chain from the hook, then do 1 single crochet in each of the next 3 chains, and then do 3 single crochets in the last chain. But I don’t understand what it means by “continue on opposite side” because if I continue that same pattern, there won’t be enough stitches left to do the 4 single crochets that is says to do at the bottom of the screenshot. so I’m confused about that. Help would be appreciated please and thank you. Sorry this is a long paragraph, I’m bad at summarizing things lol
It’s such a bizarre shape, I’ve tried blocking it once and clearly not very well. It’s very wide but not very long… ideas on what to do to it or with it? It can be pinned into a traditional shawl shape but it goes back to this afterwards.
I'm new to crochet (about a month!) and I've made multiple amigurumi already but they have all been worked in rounds/in a spiral. However, the one I'm working on now has pieces that are worked in rows and my brain is just not comprehending turning the work or how it should look when I'm doing it correctly. I'm a very visual learner so not being able to see how to do it, I'm STRUGGLING.
I recently started and after making a few patterns i decided to level up and make thin yarn patterns.
I’m following this video and the lady misses to mention a few stitches in between, so i end up watching this on my tv at 0.5x but my biggest qualm is she is mentioning something called a treble crochet. It is completely different from what i learned from a few videos about treble crochet.
Can someone explain how she is making it.
Can anyone recommend a crochet stitch book where the stitches are organised by "multiples of" per chapter, like a chapter of stitches that start "ch multiples of 3+1", then the next chapter is "ch multiples of 4" and so on?
I've got a few crochet stitch bibles, but they're either for beginners and don't have a huge number of stitches, or they're organised by other attributes.
Thanks!
Hey friends, can anyone help me understand what's happening here please? The highlighted instruction is what has me confused. Does it just want five decrease rows, one after the other to get it down from 79sts to 73sts?
I fell in love with making crochet bandanas as a way to decompress after work. A couple of friends asked for one, one of whom currently has their hair in twists and has (I’m assuming) 4C hair. Currently, I’m using the Sugar’n Cream cotton yarn for the project, but I’m worried about how it interacts with protective hairstyles and 4C hair. I tried Googling and watched some Tiktoks of people with curly hair wearing crochet bandanas, but their hair is more on the 3B/3C side. Should I line one side of the bandana with a breathable fabric? If so, what should I use? Or is this concern completely unwarranted and the yarn would be fine on its own? I know I could always just ask that friend about it, but I like making thoughtful gifts.
Also, if anyone has any surefire tips on softening the Sugar’n Cream yarn, it would be much appreciated. I soaked one project in hot water and conditioner, it’s currently air drying/blocking so we’ll see how it turns out. I heard vinegar is a good solution as well.
I don’t quite understand the instructions for row 16-17. Is row 17 possible (ending with 24 stitches) after doing row 16? Thank you!
Hi, I'm new to crochet and today was my first attempt. I have been following Bella Coco's tutorial on a basic granny square (https://youtu.be/GALGQdP\_POw?si=MHdcdLs7vKhmWBbs) but I have been stuck on the double crochet, or a treble, for almost an hour now. I have been using a size 4 yarn from Red Heart and a 3.5mm crochet hook. Am I doing something wrong?
I’ve tried following the pattern in the video I will link under this comment. I don’t think she has the right number of stitches for R11 after the first increase. I think? It seems like her numbers aren’t adding up? Maybe I’m wrong though I can’t tell because she doesn’t tell you what number you should end on for every row. This is the pattern: https://youtu.be/vxjs-_60OMY?si=c1DiEwSOulF59bDp Can someone please correct me if I’m wrong? This is what I THINK the pattern is from what she is saying. It’s a crochet along type of video. Thanks everyone!

Received my first block board that isn't big enough for all the granny squares I will be making for a blanket.
Blocking isn't a thing for me; I don't normally do squares and I was wondering how long do I need to block each square so I can rotate a new set on the board.
it’s my first time doing amigurumi and doing the yarn under method. what is the reason behind this line where my sl are? what can i do to fix it? i probably won’t frog this now but id like to know what im doing wrong for future projects.
I don’t have much experience with different fabrics yet, just looking for advice. Thanks!
