You used to smile at the thought of me failing…

ben barnett (songwriter/lyricist for kind of like spitting) said about this song "This song is about my dad. My dad is not dead, but I haven’t spoken to him in 11 years. He was the drunken father who’d say, 'How dare you read and get smarter than me!' There was a cycle of violence and praying and knowing that if I just closed my eyes tight enough, it all might go away. When I wrote it, I remember thinking about how the pain I felt when I was 12 was so different from my pain at 22."
Hello everyone! I'm an ACoN currently stuck living with my NMom and probably E Dad. Things have been tough lately, and I've been feeling some things that I thought would make a great song, but I haven't been able to write in a while. I was messing around with ChatGPT the other day, and I asked it to write lyrics for a rock song for me based on how I've been feeling lately. I thought they came out good, so I wanted to share.
I hope that some people can find some of these songs comforting.💓
this song recently came out and when I first heard it on the radio, it hit me hard. for one thing I absolutely love this band, but the more i listened it the more it felt so fitting as kind ofu own "RBN" anthem for lack of a better phrase. ✌️ wanted to share for anyone who may feel the same.
