Just learned about this interesting little house at VA State because of a new designation (having to do with Identity). Not technically in Petersburg but "Ettrick" and Petersburg strangely claim each other for cultural/history reasons.

VA State is one of VA's prettier campuses set up on a hlll overlooking Petersburg. This isn't even the best example of International Style/Midcentury Modern in the Petersburg area but the woman who designed it for herself certainly was -- she went up to Colombia U for her Masters degree and later Stated the Fine Arts Dept at VA State. She was from Lynchburg originally.

Petersburg actually seems to be trying to market itself to the rest of VA instead of to itself --- a great development!

Nearby districts trying to steal casino revenue. Bill proposed by Colonial Heights rep would require revenue sharing with multiple localities.

Why would Petersburg be required to share the revenue when they are the ones footing the bill to keep the area around the casino safe? If these other localities wanted the revenue why wouldn’t they take the casino?? Does not make sense to me. The money should STAY IN PETERSBURG.

Newer restaurants in Petersburg

Has anyone had any luck? I want to try new places but am a little nervous to do it blindly.

Also I would love to see us keep this page active ♥️

Oh P-burgers….slow down

I know too many of y’alls don’t know much about driving in the snow so I beg of you…..slooooow tf down.
Also, this whole business I hear of not treating the roads at all with sand, salt, something is very worrisome in light of the impending freezing rain and temperature drop. I couldn’t even find a bag of rock salt to buy to treat my steps of walkway so I cannot even imagine trying to Hans Brinker my way into work. OH LORDT! Stay safe!

Looking for historic restoration specialists in tri-city area.

Any suggestions for exterior contractors in the tri-city area who do restoration work? Looking for recommendations for specialists in repairs, wood working, masonry, and painting. Thanks in advance for any leads!

Xfinity Internet?

Fios, T-mobile, AT&T….basically any providers I’d like are not available in our soon to be P-burg home. That leaves Cox 🤮 or Xfinity. Anyone have experience with Xfinity? Thanks!
