I’m an honors student junior with good grades in all my classes and lots of work experience, so why do I feel like I’m nowhere near starting my actual career? I kinda feel like my department is failing me with easy classes and little real world experience.

Are there any buildings near VCU/MCV that you recommend with 9 month leases? I found The Edison Apartments and The Residences at the John Marshall Apartments... Any thoughts on these? Any others I might consider? Thanks.

Just woke up to a grant that I wasn't estimated to receive this morning. This is my first semester as a transfer student, so I'm a little confused. My community college made me aware of financial aid in advance, but VCU just handed me a grant almost mid semester.. anybody have any idea, or is this just what VCU (or universities) do?

If I go to the gym at like 2pm will it still be slammed like it was in early January?

I am just venting, I can't do anything about it.

My son is sophomore in VCU Engineering. He signed up for the class which was supposed to have theoretical part and labs. Professor who had been teaching class for a long time retired this past summer and school does not have anyone who knows how to run labs so person who teaches class this year just reads from Powerpoint and there are no labs.
Seriously VCU??? You ever heard of contingency plan? Backups? Redundancy? Transfer of knowledge.... Did you even consider a possibility that some old professor might actually retire? Couldn't you have prepared for such an event???

Labs are apparently super important part of the class but we just won't have them. Oh well... What can one do? /s

hey, I am transfer student for fall 2025 and, I am trying to rent a room/apartment. i’m just trying to figure out the best options since housing is expensive plus kinda rare for juniors/seniors from what i heard. so far, i been looking at RAMZ Lofts. from the students that lived/been there, what are your ratings? also just looking for recommendations for off housing in general since most of the apartments on the off housing website are too expensive for my budget.

I'm studying Homeland Security, and I've now taken two classes that used the same Netflix documentary and textbook excerpts. One of them was an upper-level course. At this point, the quality of education feels nonexistent.

I'm paying $8,000 for this semester, and tuition has doubled. I don’t receive financial aid or student loans, and I worked my ass off to afford this $2,000 class-- watching Netflix. I want my money back.

I'm honestly considering opening a Go-Fund-Me to get my money back. I could spend it on a Netflix gift card and popcorn.

Hi, I got into VCU and their Honors college a while back. I got a Deans Scholarship and $8000 per year funded scholarship totaling $64,000 over 4 years from VCU. I am an out of state students and even with this scholarship it is a little bit pricey what are ways that I can appeal for more aid. What supplements should I provide to convince them.

Yeah so I'm not so sure I wanna go into VCUarts anymore. Being someone who is mixed and transmasc, I don't really wanna go a college that will turn its back on its own students. I feel like they're also gonna let the government just do whatever, like allow those ICE jerks to come in and take whoever they think is an immigrant. I'm often mistaken for one and it doesn't help that I'm queer and trans. My mom wants me to go there and has been fighting with me about it, but I really don't feel safe going to a school that pretty much doesn't care about their minority students. I'm not really asking for advice, I just felt the need to tell someone that.

My GPA’s not the best but I have a few decent extracurriculars to make up for it.
