Anyone else running into issues getting Adderall prescriptions filled this month? I know there is a national shortage but this is the first time I've had issues around here. I use a local pharmacy as well.
Has anyone else felt that grocery shopping is tenser, more rushed, less friendly, with a more exhausted staff (I feel for them) than before COVID? They were one of the few places that had to operate as ~usual during very unusual times.
I guess I'm trying to weed out the crappy leftovers of covid in my brain and wanted to see if anyone else felt the same vibe, or it's just my imagination. Just feels like Kroger hasn't "bounced back" like a lot of other places.

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!
Hi all, plugging a research study here in case anyone is interested!
We are looking at how different functional types of plants affect the ability of green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) to provide a variety of services, such as hydrologic, water quality, and culture. This experiment will focus on cultural services provisioning since it is essential to public acceptance of GSI due to the highly visible nature of green infrastructure, which requires greater public buy-in than buried, grey infrastructure. We are using virtual reality models of real-world systems as well as uniquely designed systems to determine what landscape level features and plant traits most influence perceptions of aesthetics and sense of place, two major cultural services provided by GSI.
We’re currently looking for participants (both affiliated and non-affiliated with VT) to help validate these virtual reality models by comparing them to real world systems. Participants will walk through a model using a virtual reality headset and then complete a follow-up interview where participants will work with researchers to map out their personal perceptions of plant characteristics.
If this sounds interesting to you, please feel free to fill out the form! Thanks!

I'm trying to collect some intel so I can have a successful fishing excursion tomorrow. I'm looking to catch whatever, preferably whatever fish is biting best right now. Current options I am evaluating are:
-Claytor Lake
-New River
-Cascades (for trout)
-Carvins cove
If anyone has good strategies for fishing in blacksburg, best fish to catch right now and best bait, good locations either from my list or not from my list, etc. Thanks a lot!
We just moved here this year. Does anyone have any recommendations for neighborhoods to take our daughter trick or treating in? We'll try ours, but I suspect it might be kinda dead.
Anywhere to watch premier league games in town?
Can anyone recommend an estate lawyer?
My friend recently had his car towed in his apartment complex. This occurred last night after another resident found the car parked in the space dedicated to their unit. Shortly thereafter, the resident called the emergency police line 4 times to report an "accident", and the towing company came and picked up my friend's car. Then, the resident who initially called the police parked in a different space, not dedicated to their unit, and stayed there overnight. Since it was a late-night tow, the cost is $180 cash/$190 card.
For context, the numbers denoting parking spaces are extremely weathered and faded, enough to not be reasonably legible. Over the course of the past semester, there has been a collection of around 4-5 vehicles that have been parked in incorrect spaces as a result of this, but since they've been consistently doing this, my friend believed that where they had been parking was the correct space for their unit. Coupled with this, there has been a vehicle parking in my friend's dedicated unit parking space this entire time, furthering the assumption that where he was parking was okay.
The towing company operator was as unhelpful as you would expect in a situation like this, and the conversation boiled down to "I don't know what to tell you. It's $180 cash, $190 card." The car occupying my friend's dedicated space was towed this morning, which led to an awkward conversation between my friend's roommates and the resident, and now the situation is a cluster because one resident started a chain reaction of towing throughout the lot.
Is there any recourse he would have here? I can't imagine he has much to work with since the towing company can just say "You were in the wrong space and a resident verified it." The only thing that doesn't sit well with me is the numbering of spaces being poorly maintained. The landlord complained to the HOA about this and was upset with the situation, and the HOA merely wrote it off with a text saying "we'll take it into consideration" before the landlord demanded a phone call.
looking for a moderately priced lunch special to try around town. Drop your suggestions !
Hi neighbors 👋
Asheville resident here. We’re getting out of town for the weekend in hopes to get a bit of a break from it all…My wife and I are considering getting a hotel in Blacksburg for Thursday - Saturday (we have family in near Wytheville, going there after).
Anything special happening? Fun things to do?
Any recommendations for breakfast spots, breweries, good food (bbq, Italian, middle eastern) etc?
Never been to your city. Excited to possibly stop by, have some fun and get some rest.
Thanks 🙏
Does anyone know what is up with the new lease terms for Collegiate Suites and why it has so much crazy stuff in it? Stuff like they can put someone to stay in your bedroom with you and you can't do anything about it. I've been saving up to live off campus for my final year of college but my sister (and guarantor) doesn't want me to live there and doesn't support it. From what I've heard from a friend who lived there this year, the lease was not previously this crazy and it's because of the new management that took over a few years ago. I don't want to back out because I paid $200 in application fees plus $300 in deposit and now I'm worried about getting back, but I haven't actually been charged yet. Any info would be really appreciated!
How difficult is it to find a place to rent with 4 pets? 3 cats and a medium dog. All well behaved with no breed restrictions.

I’ve looked on Facebook marketplace and craigslist no luck there
Hey! I was wondering if anyone knew of a private nail tech and lash technician near Blacksburg. I don’t mind going to the salons around here but I’d prefer to go to a private tech. Thanks in advance.
