Anyone who has taken it 223 with Margaret Leary, does she offer any extra credit towards the end of the semester?
A lot of people say the CS classes don’t prepare you at NOVA. Can anyone that has recently taken them at NOVA and transferred to Mason chime in?
I am a sophomore (female) transfer student and I commute to campus. It's halfway through the semester, and I still haven't been able to find friends outside the classroom. I don't live in the Fairfax area, so I would love to do things around campus as well as in the DC area, but I have nobody to do it with. I've never been to an event on campus or any frat parties, and I honestly want to be able to experience those things at least once. I'm also looking for a study buddy.
Hey guys kinda urgent asking for a friend. Can anyone tell me about the business degree from mason and is the accounting concentration the real deal or what? I noticed we only have business degrees but then they have concentrations, rather than a straight up degree in finance or accounting, whats up w that? Also does anyone have the 4 year plan for accounting, my bf is 100% sure he wants to do accounting for his career and was undeclared so needs to get in some classes for the spring/ cant see an advisor for a week, registration opens soon and he wants good profs so does anyone have a 4 year plan they can share. Im having trouble finding adequate info online w him, but he doesnt have reddit so im posting this for him.
I saw it was with Prof. Alex Brodsky, whom I know is a pretty decent professor. I was wondering if anyone had any experience/taken 787 before or had prof Brodsky before. Tysm!
Which proffessors are best for Ai and ML in GMU for MS in CS
Junior here. Can anyone tell me their experience with the English BA program with concentration in Creative Writing? I love to craft stories and love to write. I think that this program would be more suited for me but I'm wondering what experiences people have had.
Hello all,
I'm an active student at GMU in my junior year (1.5 more years to go). My lease is ending soon, and I'm looking for a room.
I'm a 31 yo male, veteran, with a clean background, and no past felony charges. I'm attending school using the GI bill so my rent money is guaranteed as long as I'm actively enrolled in school. My budget for room and board is 800 or less, preferably, but I am open to options.
I'm looking to move in/out soon, between Nov 16th and Dec 1st.
Thank you for reading!
I’m having trouble updating the physical location section that appears before the registration page. The link isn’t showing up, and I've tried clicking it multiple times, but it still doesn't work. Has anyone else encountered this issue? If so, how did you resolve it?
Hello I’m trying to register for spring 2025 classes and I’m looking at the professors for stats250 and they aren’t looking too good… Kenneth Pasion is a no, Aminat Gbadamosi and Ajiboye Babalola have no ratings, Kenneth Strazzeri has a 2.8 and Mike Holland has a 2.7. Has anyone taken the professors listed above? I don’t know if it’s worth just taking the chance with Holland or Strazzeri or seeing if I can get approved to take stats250 at NOVA. Anything would help thank you 🙏
Probably a little bit late, but I was thinking about joining the kickboxing class. Do I just show up? Or is there somewhere I have to sign up?
Hello! I am a prospective candidate for fall '25. I was looking at the MA in economocs program at GMU. It apparently has two types of assistantship offered. My question is- what type of profile is usually considered for funding in this program, if anyone from the current cohort could answer this.
A littls background on me- I am an econ grad from Bangladesh with 3.21 cgpa in bachelor's & 3.47 in Master’s. I also have a year of work experience in economics research. I plan to give thr GRE soon.
Since theres not a lot of rmp reviews of this, BIOL 214 (biostatistics) with Marieke Kester/Jones is GREAT fr one of the most organized online classes I have ever taken. I had not done any stats besides mean median mode but all her video lectures are great, engaging and to the point. Exams are open note. The HWs are the only thing that take time and are a little more difficult but thats gonna be there online or offline. Just wanted to put this out here. The best online class you can take fr.
Has anyone tried this? All of the Chem 213 labs are with Fayissa (or don't say an instructor), and I'm taking Qadri
Hello, I finally got into Mason Can someone help me with securing a scholarship for my graduate studies?
Signing up for my last semester I have hit a roadblock regarding my course. A specific Course I need is not being provided. After contacting academic advisors I was told to take a course that would be a valid replacement. This course is not being provided either :/. After this situation, my academic advisor told me to contact the head of the department providing the course and request what alternative I should take. Has anyone dealt with this situation before if so what happened?
Im already thinking worst-case scenario and would have to delay graduation which would kinda throw a wrench in my whole career plans. Anyways, any insight or advice would be awesome!
I recently received a letter from GMU regarding the 2025 Game & Technology Academy, which is something I'd definitely be interested in, but I've never heard of GMU until I received it and I never gave any of my details to anybody associated with them. None of my friends interested in development have received this and my family has no clue what it's about. Is it a scam? Does this sound abnormal? I'm not going to respond to this letter until I've got solid confirmation that this is a real thing and is normal of them to do. Thank you all in advance!
Hey!
Looking to see if anyone is selling their old cap & gown, looking to buy for the upcoming graduation.
Hi does anyone have a syllabus or something for a past Painting 1 class? If it's with Professor Yi that's even better. I just want to know what supplies I might need and what the projects are lol. Thanks
Hi everyone. Yesterday was the grading deadline for all Incomplete work from summer and spring. Last Friday was the deadline for students to submit the work from these classes, meaning that professors had a week to grade and re-submit grades.
I received the temporary Incomplete grade for a 1 credit lab section I took over the summer and couldn’t finish for reasons outside of my control. I had communicated with the professor about my circumstances. I finished as much of the work as I could and let my professor know last week as the student deadline approached. I didn’t hear back from my professor at all. I sent a message again yesterday asking if the professor had received my submissions for the course. No response. I checked PatriotWeb about an hour ago because I know it updates overnight— I received an F in the lab section.
Not only is this bad for my GPA, but I am supposed to graduate next semester. I am an independent student supporting myself and I cannot reasonably do well in 16 credits including a lab section. I specifically enrolled in the course over last summer because it was online and an easy way to fill my natural science with a lab requirement.
I’m honestly infuriated because I did communicate with the Professor ahead of time. I did complete my outstanding assignments before the deadline. And now I have an F on my transcript and a dip in my GPA through no fault of my own.
If anyone has been through a similar situation and has any guidance, I would appreciate it immensely. Thanks

I am considering taking the solar system (astr 111 and the lab 112) because I need a lab science and love learning about space, but I am HORRIBLE at math, like, barely passed algebra and geometry bad. How much if any math is needed for this course? Thanks!
