If i stood on my money right now I wouldnt be able to ride on any roller coasters at six flags. I hope you still have no money you broke goofy goober.
I made a giant mistake and I don’t know what to do.
I need to finish my last two years at Mason and I signed up for classes this Fall semester. I didn’t have enough money to pay for classes this Fall, so I decided to not pay assuming that GMU would drop me for non-payment just like NOVA.
They never dropped me and now I owe $8k for classes I never attended. I should have at least double-checked and removed myself from the classes before the tuition refund date instead of assuming they’d automatically drop me, and now I’m unable to register for Spring classes. They didn’t contact me either in any way stating that I would remain enrolled in the class despite non-payment. This is very unusual to me considering most universities expect payment before or upon beginning classes.
My parents are also not willing to support me. They are neither willing to resolve the $8k outstanding balance or co-sign on any student loan. They are gov’t contractors and make too much money for me to qualify for FAFSA or grants (we have previously attempted to apply multiple times), and I’m still at the age where I’m considered a dependent under them.
This will result in delaying my graduation date. I visited Mason Student Services in person who said that I would need to pay the $8k. Is there anything I can do? Should I contact the Student Accounts to ask more? Or am I just fucked.
Hey guys,
I'm a master's student at GMU who also happens to have a professional photography setup. I wanted to make this post to see if there would be any interest in people having relatively cheap graduation photos taken on campus during this month or over winter break. I'm not really sure how much I was thinking of charging, but I figured maybe $80 total with $40 deposit and the other $40 after photos are received for a 30 min photoshoot.
Would anyone be interested? I'd be happy to send over sample pics I've taken in the past.
Hey everyone, I'll be completing most of my credits this semester and will be a part-time student in the spring. I'd love to walk in the December 2024 graduation ceremony, as most of my family can attend. Due to a family member's health, I probably won’t be able to participate in the spring ceremony :(
Does anyone know if it's too late to walk in the December ceremony? What's the process for last-minute participation?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :)🙏🏼
Hello, I’m just putting this out there to see if anyone has any extra tickets or is able to request extras for me, for commencement for CHSS on Dec 19th 2pm
I have a rather large immediate family and am trying to see if I can gather enough for them all to attend. If yes please let me know I will pay you for them!!
I'm currently a Senior CS student, and I'm definitely going to fail 367. (I have a really hard time concentrating on my schoolwork and paying attention in class). I'm doing an internship for the next semester (Spring 2025), so I had already planned for a leave of absence and to graduate Fall 2025 (which would be 1 semester later than the normal 4 year graduation timeline). Now because of failing 367, I will have to retake it in Fall 2025, and do just 471 in Spring 2026 graduate then. I'm feeling very anxious about telling everyone, who think I'll be graduating in Fall 2025, being worried about judgement and disappointing them, however, I do see potential opportunities to this. I planned to apply to jobs while I'm on my internship, so I was thinking about taking a job in January of 2026, and just informing the employer I will be taking 1 class in Spring 2026 and will graduate that semester. I don't really know what to think or do right now though and could use some advice.
Hi, everyone. I graduate this December and have no clue what Americans wear for graduation (guests), especially in the winter. Is it formal, suits, casual?
I know it sounds silly but I am from a country where people tend to overdress for occasions like these, so I just want to make sure.
I watched GMU's graduation videos and I can only see students with the cap and gown, not guests.
Hi, I'm planning on transferring to a different school where a BUS 100 equivalent is needed to transfer, but for some reason GMU's BUS 100 doesn't transfer, so I want to take the BUS 100 equivalent via VCCS (I am already taking BUS 100 currently at GMU).
Does anyone know who I should contact for VCCS credit transfers? What should I do?
Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone knows if GMU has a used art supply exchange/program. I know there are general ‘stuff’ giveaways, but I also know that there is so. much. waste. with art supplies specifically. Thanks!!
I booked a virtual advising meeting tomorrow, but I can’t find any link to the meeting yet. Do they give me the link day of meeting or like is there a way to find the link to the virtual meeting? HELP
What is one thing GMU you think they should improve on campus?
I have a gpa higher than 2.5 and most of my cs and math classes are As but I treated my English 1102 (Composition II equivalent ) as if it were non existent and therefore Im expecting to have a D in next week, would I still be admitted ?
does anyone actually get a campus job through handshake? ive applied to like 20 and they all say pending, i need a job so bad.
Someone please take over my lease at The Flats on University from January 1st to August 2nd, and I'll pay your first month's rent ($1,000)
I’m graduating this December and urgently need someone to take over my lease.
If you’re interested or have questions, please reach out to me ASAP(PM me). I truly appreciate your help!
Thank you!
IT207 again, just feel like I’m banging my head against the wall trying to tackle any assignment or lab. I go to the office hours for help and I still feel helpless afterward
It’s my last required course before my capstone, I already dropped it last semester cause it was even worse. It’s still bad. This is my 3rd post about this class.
I’ve been in college for 7 years and that fact depresses me a lot. I’ve gotten past a lot of difficult classes with C’s so my gpa isn’t even good. Never dealt with something that’s made me want to give up so close to the finish line.
I just wanna be out of here man.
Closed the gym for more than a month😭…I was genuinely excited for them to fix everything…today when I entered…it’s left exactly how it was last month..no changes…in fact I found my pencil on the treadmill I lost last month 💀…Atleast they cld have fixed some of the broken machines or changed the squat bars which has rust 🤷
Is it that difficult for the university to at least add soft pads, tennis balls, or wheels to the feet of the chairs to make them not squeak when they're moved? It's so distracting and fucking obnoxious.
literally its just what it says, i'm looking for extra graduation tickets for this winter for the college of humanity social sciences ceremony. I already got the 10 tickets but I need AT LEAST 1 more but preferably 3 for my friends. The 10 was just enough to cover my family and a hs friend but I want some of the friends I made here to come. so pls lmk if you have any extra tickets for the 19th 2pm ceremony
did anyone take a class with this professor? is he chill?
Goofed off through high school, (Straight D's-C's on report cards).
However it's senior year, say I turn my shit around, how does GPA even work? Have my past grades already doomed me?
Forgive my ignorance, I should've gave a fuck earlier. Is it over? I wanna get into this school.
Hi all, quick questions for y’all if you taken this class. So far I only see 2 professors listed and wanted to know what I was getting in to. Did you enjoy the class, was it hard? Thanks! Btw The two professors I see are Esther Peters and Samantha Mohney
