I built this website (Rate My Courses) ratemycourses.io and wanted to share it with students who might not be familiar with it. This is a website similar to RMP but for classes. You can use this to look at reviews and get advice on courses you're interested in taking.
And don't forget to add reviews for the courses you took or currently taking!

hello! i’m a senior in hs and cnu is currently my top choice for college. i am also a transgender male, and due to my situation at home, i will most likely not be able to begin medical transition until after i start college, so i was wondering if anyone knows what the policy around housing trans students who haven’t medically transitioned is at cnu?
I'm looking into applying for an ESA this fall. I have found some info on the Emotional Support Animal Policy documentation but I'm not sure exactly what I need to do. I've also found the Request for Accommodation Form on the Disability Support website. Do I use this form to make an ESA request?
If anyone has successfully requested an emotional support animal and has any advice that would really help me a lot! Thanks!
My son will be a freshman this year. The CNU web site says there's cable TV in the dorm rooms.
Is there a cable box and HDMI output? Just wondering if a computer monitor with HDMI input is good enough or do you need a TV with coax input. Thanks!
I am looking to transfer to CNU and was wondering how the programs are for Mechanical Engineering. I also would like to know if there are any clubs, internships or anything that can get a student to be more involved and make connections.
I'm a high school senior looking at colleges. I've been accepted into VA Tech, GMU, and ODU, but CNU is by far the cheapest option for me. I saw the horror-story rant from 2 years ago on this sub, and was wondering if anyone could give a more updated opinion on what the CS program's like in general, if it's worth taking, if you would've gone somewhere else given the option, etc.
Mostly interested in the quality of the education but would love to hear advice/opinion on anything else too ^^
Hi Everyone,
I have been working for some time now on this website ratemycourses.io and I am really excited to share it with you.
You can use this to look at reviews and get advice on courses you're interested in. You can also sort courses by difficulty, usefulness and the overall rating from reviews made by other students. I think if enough people start using it regularly. it's going to be essential when you're choosing your electives or just to get advice on courses you will be taking.
Please let me know if there is anything that I should change or what features I should add.
Lastly, filtering and sorting courses is only gonna be useful and accurate if there are a lot of reviews, so please go ahead and leave some reviews to courses you've taken or are currently taking.
Enjoy!!
Hello, my name is Shane. I'm a transfer student coming from Germanna and am transferring to CNU come this fall. I applied for on campus housing and have been put on a wait-list for it. Does anyone know how limited the housing for transfer students is? Should I seriously consider looking at apartments instead in the area? Is the housing first come first serve for transfers? Any information would be appreciated, thank you.
I was just wondering how people get so many of these things for graduation. What are all of the clubs that offer those things? (Looking to join some next year)
I have never seen a bar let so many underage kids drink, and I guess it got the best of them last night. It was not even 12am and ambulances pulled up outside because a girl passed out on the sidewalk. Cops everywhere and the whole thing got shut down.
This bar basically confirms my opinion that this area needs a bigger college bar scene. CNU students are flocking to this new location because there are literally no other options. Good Vibes is capitalizing on this with overpriced drinks and honestly suss vibes from management.
The venue and acoustics are honestly top tier, but they clearly have never experienced what it is like to be a "college bar" which I fear will get the best of them!
If anyone is looking to get some tickets off their hands, I'm able to meet someone on campus to pay you back for them. just DM me! Thank you in advance!
Hello r/CNU,
I work at Westview on the James, an outdoor/adventure/Christian summer camp in Goochland, Virginia. We are preparing for a busy camp season, with almost 800 campers signed up already!!!
We are currently looking for Adventure Camp Counselors, Waterfront Specialist, Nature Specialist, Craft Specialist, Program Specialist, and Senior Counselors.
Check out the link and apply if this is something you'd be interested in!
My daughter just got into CNU. What do you like about the school? What do you wish were different? Do you find an overly religious vibe there? How’s the LGBTQ community? Thanks for any and all thoughts.
Hello! I’m a college student and writer for College Magazine (925,000 monthly readers). I’m writing an article ranking the ten best colleges in Virginia. I’m looking for student quotes supporting why each college should be considered one of the best. I would really appreciate if at least one or two of you could message me to answer the following:
You can either DM me or email me at blasbergj@gmail.com, and I’ll make sure to send you the article with your quote in it!
Hey guys. I’m a senior in high school, and I’m trying to figure out where I want to go to college. How difficult is it to get into the honors program? Also, can you participate in both the honors program and the president’s leadership program? Please let me know💕
This sub isn't very active, so where do you recommend asking questions that would receive a fair amount of responses?
Might as well as my queston here anyway, though: If a student isn't keeping up with work in class, do the professors often reach out to the student to see what's up? Just wondering how supportive the environment is in terms of helping students stay on track.
Thanks!

Hi everyone! I'm from William and Mary and i am playing in a tennis tournament at CNU on saturday and sunday. is there anywhere i can park without risking getting a ticket that is near the courts? i saw that there is a parking lot next to the courts for faculty/staff/residents but am i allowed to park there on weekends?
Just graduated from Virginia Tech but I’m living in Newport News and really miss meeting others my age. Any tips?
I’m a rising sophomore in a 6 person dorm in Warwick. We were wondering if there’s one mini fridge for the whole dorm or one per room, because the website doesn’t say? Can someone clarify please?
I'm an alum and work for a business no more than 15 minutes from campus. We are looking to hire some seasonal helpers and would like to extend this offer to CNU students. I do not remember what department we have to contact in order to post a job flyer with information. Any guidance would greatly help.
I am transferring to Christopher Newport this upcoming semester and I thought it would be pretty cool for students to connect with each other online and bring people with common interests together.
Hi! We are a pair of computer science graduate students at Clemson University who are studying perceptions of teamwork in online undergraduate classroom breakout rooms.
We ran a pilot study earlier this year with our own student body and would like to expand it now to other 4-year, 2-year, and online colleges/universities.

Couldn't really find much info about this class... anyone have any insight on what is actually taught and whether the class is worth taking or not?
Soo, any course recommendations for what to take as my second writing intensive as a computer science major? We only have CPEN 371 as a writing intensive and we have to take some other random course...
So yeah, any recommendations?
