Does Roanoke have any annual fall events, like downtown fall festivals, that sort of thing? Any other fall festivals in surrounding towns, counties? Looking for things to do in this beautiful weather.

They bought my apartments about 3 months ago, just got a letter today saying starting November 1st there gonna charge me 1k for rent, I pay 600 right now, is there anything I can do? Legally?

I'm in Tampa, Florida, and my spouse and I are working on moving out to the Roanoke area. However, we feed a handful of friendly stray cats (5 regulars) that we're having a hard time finding homes for. Shelters are always at capacity, even independent rescue orgs are overloaded. Everyone who wants a pet already has one. There's just not enough homes for all the pets that need to be adopted, despite best efforts.

I've heard that this is a problem unique to the deep south, that it's different more up north. Is that true? If so, I'm wondering if I could bring some of these friendly cats with me to loving homes in VA, since I am having such a hard time finding any here. I don't want to leave them behind, and I can't adopt them, I've already got two, and our next house will likely not be big enough for a third, let alone all five strays. That would be insane. Think of the smell. I briefly considered just taking them with us so they can continue to be outdoor cats at our new place, but I don't think that would be wise, as they're not used to winters(I thought about building them an insulated cat condo but don't know if that would be enough) and they could get hurt wandering around in unfamiliar territory.

Worth mentioning, I do believe that all of these cats could adjust to being fully indoors with some time, just based on their personalities, but all they've known is being outdoors so I can't say for sure.

If anyone has any advice, please let me know. I'm willing to hear any and all ideas.

Hi everyone! I know this is last minute but does anyone know someone that could do hair and makeup for a mother of the groom on September 21st? The lady my mom normally goes, she checked with her in June and she was all booked up and my mom was gonna do it herself but I'm trying to help her avoid that. There's an alarm thats been going off almost daily off Orange Ave near the sheets gas station and the closed walmart neighborhood market. Currently its going off now. Just wondering if anyone may know what it actually is?

I sold my house about a month ago and had a second mortgage with RVCCU. The closing attorney had some difficulties getting payoff statements via phone calls and emails, and finally had to send an employee to their office to get the statement. Everything that I paid off with the sale was complete within a few days except for RVCCU who would not accept a wire transfer and instead wanted a paper check mailed to them.

I have not been able to get a direct answer from anyone about why my 2nd mortgage is not paid off at this time. It has been a month and now the account is saying a payment is due and no one will talk to me about where the money went.

Anyone have an experience like this? Where is the money? Did someone skip town? I am getting nervous.

Looking for ideas.. I was nearly fluent in Spanish but over the years have become rusty. I'm looking for a native speaker that's willing to help me build my skills back up through conversation and reading/writing. Doesn't have to be a formal tutor as much as someone to help reimmerse me to restore and build new proficiency. Any ideas of where to look for someone like that? Would also be happy to get involved in a local Spanish speaking community if they'll have me haha

Acura suv was victim of hit and run with damage to back bumper and lift/trunk (looks like from a trailer hitch). Car only has 5000 miles so I want it fixed right. Acura dealer suggested Hannabass but no one will answer phone or email and now I’m reading some negatives here. Any suggestions for a good, honest place?
