The pastor is a Christian nationalist fascist and a lot of the congregation members are just his yes men/women. They have a great orchestra, choir, and independent singers but imo the pastor is way too much and outweighs the great music talent.

I go to school here but I am not a virginia resident. When he pulled me over, the cop said if I was a virginia resident I could go to court and take a class to get my ticket reduced, but he wasn't sure if I could do that being from NC. If I just pay the ticket it's $200 but my insurance rates will go up. I'm 21 and only got my license 3 years ago so my insurance is already pretty high (this is my second speeding ticket so that doesn't help things either). Right now I think it would be best to get an attorney and go to court so my insurance isn't as affected, but the attorney and court fees will be a lot more than $200 so I want to make sure that's the right decision before I do it.

Is there any good affordable places to buy replacement windows for my home? Dont need the installation just to get the windows

This is my first Christmas here in the Roanoke/Salem area. Are there any good things to do or see during the Christmas season?

This marks the second year in a row I have had no trick or treaters. Do people even do it anymore? Or is it all trunk-or-treating now?

Was anyone else really disappointed by the lack of foot traffic this Halloween? Our street is usually a traffic jam, we may be had 20 trick-or-treaters tops?

We're coming down this weekend for a wedding. Looking for a good bar to watch the commanders game on Sunday with the pup. I did some research on this channel and saw some breweries mentioned but big lick, three notch'd etc. Looked like there were a only a TV or two. Any recommendations?

I have my porch light on, pumpkins on the porch, the yard is well maintained, the neighborhood is somewhat nice and there's a bunch of kids walking around with their parents and yet I'm watching our ring doorbell and people just keep walking by. I've literally had one kid. is there a reason for this?

I just can't find anything within my budget for a small house rental. if anybody sees anything feel free to let me know, I'd really appreciate the extra eyes out there. I just moved here from North Carolina and I don't really know anybody to ask them to look around for me. I have noticed that I'm not able to find things in Facebook marketplace or on homes .com orrent.com but I constantly see signs in front of houses saying that they're for rent but whenever I call they're over $2,000 and that's just really out of what I can afford right now. I'm currently in a duplex and I don't mind staying there longer if I have to but I would prefer to not have to share walls with neighbors so that I can keep my privacy and be able to play the drums without having to hope that my neighbor is not home. and before anyone asks, my credit score is not where it needs to be in order to buy a house yet so that is something that's currently on the back burner for now

I looked for pumpkins for carving everywhere last night - Walmart, Kroger, Food Lion, Lowes, Home Depot - and all they have left is the really small pumpkins and the heirloom pumpkins. Has anybody seen any decent pumpkins for carving anywhere during the past couple of days? Happy Halloween! 🎃

So we live in the Hollins area and just saw that they are removing the recycling drop bins indefinitely. Do you guys know of any other place we could drop our recycling? I know the city does curbside pickup so I assumed they don’t have drop spots. Thanks.

today i found a lil bb bean in the street, someone had clearly hit and ran a young black cat, couldn’t have been older than 8 months. I took the bb to angels because it was still breathing when i went to move the bb out of the road. If this is your cat, please reach out to me :( I’m so sorry!!!! It’s in kitty heaven now 🪽 Makes me so sad and angry that someone can hit and run a kitty and all the people that passed it just laying in the street :( i want people to be better 🧡
