I have been looking into MDiv programs at various universities and seminaries for the past few weeks. I spoke to my Pastor about it and he recommended Liberty along with other colleges such as Fuller Theological Seminary and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Fuller and Gordon were already on my radar before this conversation and I was planning on applying anyway but Liberty was not.
That same day I looked at Liberty's website and saw a free application, so I decided to apply for an MDiv with a concentration in Biblical Studies. One worry I had was how easy the application was. Other seminary program applications require much more information including multiple references and essays, while Liberty's does not. The application took less than 10 minutes.
Then within 3 days of applying, I was accepted into Liberty. While excited I got into a school for MDiv, the entire process seemed very quick. While there is a very good possibility I will go to Liberty for my MDiv, I do not want to go to a school for the sake of a degree. I truly want to learn more and gain a deeper understanding of the word of God. Will I be getting this if I attend Liberty?
Anyone know why there’s no reading day before finals this semester?? The last three years I’ve been here there’s always been a reading day each semester before finals on Wednesday then finals would start on Thursday. This semester they’re completing changing it where there’s no reading day and finals start Monday through Thursday. Any ideas why??
If someone set up two chairs and a sign that said, "Pro-Choice & Pro-LIfe...What to discuss?" or something like that, is there a place to do so, and would it be allowed by the campus leadership?
Thoughts…..
I was wondering where the club tennis team went, I swear they were having regular practices a year ago and it looks like all of their social media was wiped out. Anyone have any insight?
I'm in graduate school for my MPA. (Public Administration. I want to know what the GPA percentages are that correspond with the letter grade. Ex: (80% -?) Would that 80 percent be B- or C+?
Has anyone dropped a class before after the class started? This class that I’m in began last Monday. I had reached out to see about dropping it before it started and they told me it would have severe negative consequences so I figured I’d just try to tackle it. I recently had a baby and two other older kids (5, 2 and 2 months) and my husband works crazy hours plus I also work full time teaching. I’m struggling finding time to get my school work done as I have failed to turn in an assignment that was due last Sunday! It was easy for me to complete the first session class as I was home on maternity leave and would work while the baby napped; now I have zero time. I’d rather drop the class than fail and allow my GPA to take a hit. I’m in the education doctoral program.
In my 30s I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. Currently I'm a community paramedic working in ED utilization reduction. I was leaning heavily towards athletic training as a career, but I'm a single dad and won't be able to take the two-ish years off working full time to pursue the MSAT/MAT.
I'm looking at Liberty University's Online MS in Clinical Human Performance, the information page for the program seems to imply that one would be eligible to sit the ACSM-CEP exam when finished. Clinical Exercise Physiology is of significant interest to me, and would likely propel me towards a PhD in exercise science or something closely related. My main area of interest is reduction of chronic disease burden through lifestyle management.
Here's the basics of my resume: BS in Public Health Graduate Certificates in Global Health and Community Health Promotion (I was previously pursuing an MPH) Military medic & EMS x 16 years (6 as a paramedic) with board certifications in Critical Care and Community Paramedicine
Questions:
If you made it this far, thanks for reading
Hi everyone, I am looking into the Criminal Justice (M.S.) - Cybercrime Investigation program and am curious if it is feasible for me to complete this on my own. My background:
I work FT and would be completing this online. The 1st Responder pricing combined with my employer's reimbursement program would make this the most financially feasible program.
I have concerns as to my ability to perform well in this degree program as I have ZERO coding experience/knowledge. I am hoping to hear from others on how the courses operate for those like me. Do I need to take some classes before? Or will I be taught the basic info to get through the classes? CSCI 501 (Overview of Computer Security), CSCI 511 Digital Forensics are the two that stick out.
I am between this program and the Public Safety (M.S.) - Homeland Security. The Cyber route seems more applicable to what I would be doing at my department; the HS program is just more interesting to me in terms of content.
Thanks in advance!
Coming out of another online school in MAT Special Ed and trying to further my education but want 100% online for flexibility. Liberty caught my eye because their program incorporates admin licensure as well as a relatively quick program since it can be done in about 2.5 years.
Is anyone currently in this program? How hard is the capstone project? Is graduating in 2.5 years possible? It took me exactly what it says it would take for my master's 2 years. I am working full time as a teacher too and managed to finish all my work. I am trying to see if it will be a good investment. My undergrad GPA is beyond bad so it is hard to apply to many other program that also requires high undergrad GPA. My graduate GPA is a 4.0 so I was hoping I can get into some EdD programs with strong graduate degree GPA and work I put in.
So I am apply to Liberty for an aviation degree. If I already have my commercial license, would that reduce the amount of classes I would take?
hey y'all. just as my title says, I'm looking to get a physical card ID instead of just having it on my phone. I emailed ID and campus services and basically was told that they apparently don't make them anymore, and that it's supposedly only an electronic thing. is this true? I would just prefer to have a legitimate card to have in my wallet compared to having it on my phone. if there's a way to get one, how do I do it?
Should I attend LU as a Hispanic student? Ik it’s a pwi but idk if I should attend LU or go to a Hbcu
Hello so I got accepted into LU for a FACS degree. I want to know if it’s actually worth going or staying in state? I’m from Maryland. And I also want to know if you actually getting fines for not behaving the way they want you to, and if you actually have to sign out to do stuff off campus?
I just wanted to find out b/c me and my friends we graduated and like nothing really happened. I did a major in Criminal Justice and went back to my home and started to build a work experience. Most of my friends are still applying and living with parents. I can't even get an interview from government agencies. I was lucky enough to get an Assistant Secretary job but have to supplement that income with McDonalds part-time.
I am a MSW student at Liberty and really thinking about transferring to another school. I have heard Liberty is basically regarded as a joke in the professional world. I would love to hear from those who have received an MSW from there. Did you find a job, if so, where?
I will start ...
"I knew there was a reason we came back for homecoming. It looks like we found a new pool boy Jerry."
Sad day for some with the loss to 0-6 Kennesaw State, 24-27. The bright side of this is that the loss is not nearly as bad as the loss to Oregon 45-6.
I know that they provide counseling for residents but do they have counseling (like therapy not like degree) for online students? If so how do you schedule an appointment? Or what are the steps to see if I can get an appointment?
Hey Liberty students,
With the 2024 election fast approaching, it’s more important than ever to make sure you’re exercising your civic duty and getting out to vote. Even if Virginia isn’t considered a swing state for the presidential race, your vote still matters, especially down ballot! Voting for local and state officials can have a huge impact on the laws and policies that directly affect you, your community, and your future.
Whether you vote early, by mail, or on Election Day, every vote helps shape the future of our country—and it’s crucial that we stay engaged in the process.
To make things more fun, I’ve created a project called Presidential Pick'em. It’s a non-partisan, interactive game where you can predict the results of the 2024 presidential election by filling out your own electoral map. I’ve even set up a pool specifically for Liberty University students to compete and see who can make the most accurate predictions.
Join the Liberty University pool here.
Or create your own pool to compete with friends.
It’s all about participation—if we get more people talking about the election, we can increase turnout and make sure our voices are heard, not just at the top of the ticket, but in every race. Let’s have some fun, get involved, and make 2024 a year of active civic duty!
Greetings. Look to connect with students in the PADM 805 class. Looking ahead to the week 3 literature review paper and having trouble with the directions. Just looking for an example is all. Thank you.
I graduated in May and couldn't really find any professional job. I got a degree in business and have ended up working at my old place which is a restaurant. I was wondering if anyone is in the same position and looking for employment.
(I made a new account)
I registered for 2 sub B-term courses and 2 sub C-term courses. I know they overlap but I just want to gain some insight on if it will be manageable. Has anyone done this before?
I wanted to see what everyone liked about the campus or the online school and list them here.
I heard from my college counselor that I need a pastor recommendation for liberty but when I look on the website, I can’t find the requirements or really anything about it. Is this a thing? If so does someone have a link to where I can find stuff about it?
