Thoughts? And do you think we will be targeting a 2C before the deadline, or riding with what we have?
Good god I miss this.
The NHL announced salary cap increases for the next three years today. I saw a post on BlueSky saying that some teams will likely have an internal cap and won’t want to reach the upper limit, and Eliot Friedman suggested the Avs might be among that group. I can’t find Friedman saying anything about this though, and the Avs always spend towards the upper limit so this has me surprised.
Anyone else heard this speculation from Friedman or other sources?
Hello Friends,
I'm a Hurricanes fan who decided to follow Necas and Drury to the Avs as a second team. I actually don't have a Western Conference team to root for and always wanted one, but always had a hard time getting invested into other teams, especially when they are in the WC and harder for me to watch as someone on the East Coast.
But I've always been fond of Colorado and am especially when we had the Wild Card Chaos Squad going on. I've never had a bad interaction with the fans or really even the team either. So that combined with Marty Necas and Jack Drury being traded to the Avs, I thought y'all would be a nice choice.
Would love recommendations of people to follow on social media for Avs content and any other history things I need to know to get caught up. Or websites to check out. Etc.
Any helpful information is appreciated. I've already seen the nice post to catch up on the subreddit lingo, so that's very helpful!
Doea anyone know if they're cheaper in person than on altitude authentics?
Saw Mikko score for Carolina last night. Miss him dearly but glad he's doing well! Hope we see our disaster bro in the SCF and then we get to give Mikko his tribute! Or, in a best-case scenario, we get him back in FA.
Ladies, gents, and otherwise, I am a Carolina fan coming in peace. On our end of things, there’s been a lot of Avs fans who have followed Mikko, and I just want to return the favor.
Here’s hoping Nachos can repeat the 2 goal performance from the last time he went against the Blues, and I hope him and The Muffin Man can keep you guys in the playoff picture for the last few weeks of the season.
God willing, we’ll see you in the finals. Otherwise, I would like to propose that the next meeting between the Canes and Avs be named The Disaster Classic. Till then, happy to be bros with you all.
I would love to sell them locally, as I live in the Denver area, but shipping is fine for an extra cost.
All prices are negotiable
Here are the jerseys I have:
all jerseys are medium! and I can send additional pics if you want!
Personally I would love to see the Avs trade for Granlund. I think he would make an excellent second line center.
We lost this game but I was still so happy to be there and to have these seats. (COL @ BOS 2/10/19)
Hey all, split household here. Avs fan married a sharks fan. All fun and love until that puck drops 3 times a year. (we don't talk playoffs) 😂
Anyhoo. We're going to the eagles/barracuda game in February and then going to the Avs/sharks game in March. I'd really like to try and get the opportunity for my partner to get an autograph from the visiting teams at blue arena and ball, since it's not possible to do that in San Jose for obvious reasons.
Is that possible? Is there any opportunities to get autographs from visiting teams at our arenas?
Thanks for any info you can share!
We just moved to NC from CO very sad about the news but also super excited to be able to see him live since moving😭 ill make sure he knows we all love and miss him
Oilers fan here, coming to Denver in March to cheer on the Flames. this might be a dumb question but should I be worried for myself? I know it's few and far between but those clips that circulate about people being harassed for wearing the visiting teams colors has me paranoid. I don't mind being teased/chirped at of course but I'd hate for someone to, let's say, pour a drink on me or something like that.

Two former Avs hitting the waiver wire on the same day.
Always interesting to ponder the what ifs had they signed and stayed for probably less.

Lifetime Avs fan here.
I go on this subreddit to see what people are saying about the games and it’s filled with nothing but doomsday posts anytime we lose a game. People say things like we’ll never win again, fire Bednar, etc
Guys, we were a powerhouse in the early 2000’s, had some mediocre years where we were still okay, one horrible year and have made the playoffs every year since 2018. And of course the cup in 2022.
Also, look at our quarter century team. We have watched some of the best players in the last 25 years.
Think about some of these other franchises like Buffalo and Columbus with zero playoff success and can never hold onto star players.
I get the bar has been set high from the cup and you can see how talented the team is, but I think you need to be happy we consistently make the playoffs every year and we will likely make it again this year. The West has gotten much better since 2022 and now there are about 5 other teams who are Stanley Cup contenders imo. Either way, I think we still have a chance if they can turn it on in the playoffs and I don’t think seeding matters that much since any series will be tough (except maybe Calgary).
So yeah, chill out and enjoy the Avs being good for years to come!!
