So much of our existence as Coyotes fans has been about trying to appreciate something we have been told we shouldn’t have. Low attendance, failing teams, poor ownership, relocation rumors. Florida has always been right there with the Yotes in so many of those problems. The dream has always been to shake off the doubters, middle finger to the hockey world and the traditionalists, and win anyways. And Florida has found a way to make it happen, here they are one win away from the Stanley Cup. I really wish it could have been the Yotes, but seeing Florida win is like watching a friend win. Here’s to non traditional markets! Go Cats!
So obviously we've all seen the Coyotes page disappear and the removal of the team from the NHL Shop and NHL website rosters.
However
You may still find (and presumably buy?) Coyotes merch from the NHL Shop if you follow a manual link to a section. For example
https://shop.nhl.com/arizona-coyotes/t-36046184+z-9720996-2728980542
should take you to a list of Coyotes merchandise still available.
No clue how long this'll remain up, but figured some might want to take advantage.
I paid $280 for a jersey about 6 months ago from the team store and would like my money back. I’ve reached out to NHL support multiple times and have not received a response.
So we have several teams this year saying that they are rebranding by to logos/colors/color patterns from earlier in their franchise history. And these announcements are coming out right now. Like in the past week. Off the top of my head, it is the Kings, the Ducks and the Wild. Why is this rebranding going to be such a quick turn around for these teams to get new banners/jerseys/merch/etc. and Utah needs a buffer year. This got me thinking a bit about the Utah situation and why they are keeping an obviously tight lip on what their new team name would be. For their inaugural year, they have said multiple times that their branding will be generic. The Utah team could have finished a vote, gotten branding, and moved ahead with whatever name and color scheme they wanted by now and still have time after all that to get their shit handled But what if this is just a placeholder waiting for the other shoe to drop. The auction for Murello to keep a good head on his timeframe/ limit is ~4 months before the start of the season. If he loses it’s a scramble and he will more than likely cash out leaving the rights to the team/expansion and all the above sitting out in the heat of summer to fry to a crisp. My scary thought is, Ryan Smith sees this and says, “why not just keep the name Coyotes? It’s the top logo in the league with an electric color scheme and recognition” and boom Smith’s Bett-buddy grants him the rights to use it, and the NHL doesn’t have to rebrand their shit. Furthermore there is precedent for this to happen. Look at Atlanta > Calgary or Minnesota > Dallas. While I think this would be unlikely given the drum banging about AZ hockey from Bettboy. At the same time, I could see that being a final page turned on this market as the league has devoted too much time/money/effort into this market with absolutely nothing to show for it because of the owners being two-faced as fuck. This is all probably because I have too much time to think at work, but thought I would share my afternoon desk nightmares with you gems.
TLDR: Lots of teams rebranding to older color schemes and logos leads to (baseless) questions on if Smith is dragging feet on team name to scoop the Coyotes branding if/when Muerello fails.
I think that the Yotes had the best jersey in the league. Unfortunately I don't have one and its hard to find one. Is there anywhere where i'd be able to get one?
After watching game two of the Stanley Cup and hearing the Panthers fan chanting "We wanted the Cup" hit me hard. Been dreaming of being in that situation for the last 24 years and almost getting there once but now not having a team to dream of seeing that just hit me like a ton of bricks.
Know how similar the Coyotes and Panthers were in the same boat for so long but how much of a different direction the teams went this year. Watching the playoffs this year I found myself rooting for all the "nontraditional markets" and sticking it to the so called "hockey purist" and shifting on all the traditional markets! Hope that all the non traditional market teams win the cup every year!
Good afternoon,
Are there any credible sources/ articles about the auction coming up? What day is it? Any recent information from AM? Any sort of comment on it? I haven’t kept up much since the news broke. Life long fan here, grew up playing, have been through hell and back. Even was at town hall when the Glendale crap happened. This devastated me, from a lifelong Coyote fan to another, I share the disappointment and sadness. I hope that they can come home.
Thank you for any responses.
Not trying to be biased but these really are the best jerseys in the NHL. Coyotes Forever!!!
Had my Penguins moved to Kansas City over 2 decades ago I know I would be still be a huge fan of the team because of who the players are. It would SUCK though... but it wouldn't hurt me as deelpy as the people who live in the Pittsburgh area since I live in Texas (Originally Michigan)
