I FOUND IT! At a Just Sports next to the State Farm stadium found a Neon Cap that i’m keeping for the rest of my life, and couldn’t do it without all the helpful comments, I really appreciate each one <3 Really enjoyed Glendale, kinda scaried cause it’s my very first time here, and way excited about people at the Cardinals game still using yotes merch! Hope to come back soon, and really happy to see that at least, Yotes Family will never die!
Saw a post made there about wanting a vintage team to return back to the league and I kid you not, anyone who dares mention the yotes gets covered in downvotes. Really speaks to how those type of hockey communities views us and reminds me why I stopped following nhl discourse. You don't see that with the MLB with the A's, NFL with the Chargers and the NBA with the Supersonics but for us? I guess by their logic we deserved to lose our club. I swear a good amount of hockey fans online feel like those fake nice guys who pretend to feel sympathy for the victim but in reality are trying to save face.
I've tried, because it's not the players fault for how everything went downhill. But it doesn't hit the same. Some of the Utah fans don't make it any better. This sucks :(
Check scores to see if Utah lost and search the internet at least once a week to see if there are any rumors for any signs of a return of an NHL team to Phoenix?
I'll likely do this for years and years but I hope it's not too many years.
Also, used to be a regular on the HF boards for the Coyotes hockey forum and it has since become dormant, with members jumping over to Utah or just vanishing, members Ive interacted for at least 7 years just gone. This sub-reddit has been very comforting and I'm happy ro find people that feel the same as I do.
My first time at Arizona, visiting Glendale, and pretty excited about the city. Been following Coyotes for the last 5 years, unfortunately, the same year I had the opportunity they moved to Utah :’( Hope to find at least a cap for remembering the team and the unforgettable travel to this city, but where can I find Coyotes merch? Is there still at the Arena?
If the Coyotes won the Connor McDavid lottery in 2015, the team would still be in Arizona right now. They probably would still be at Desert Diamond Arena.
EDIT: The Las Vegas Desert Dogs are co-owned by NHL legend Wayne Gretzky. I found that pretty cool lol
I know it's not NHL and I know it's definitely not the Coyotes but would it be a good start until NHL returns?
Lacrosse is fun and we've had the Sting before. Also I know some hockey fans also tend to like lacrosse.
Just another nostalgia TV commerical post. Nothing much to say other than awesome music from this era and cool quick highlights for those that have never seen this before until now.
It looks like Utah is finding out it's tough to share a basketball court with an ice arena. The ice below the NBA playing surface at Delta Center warped some court panels, causing an uneven playing surface.
What happened to the best mascot the NHL has ever seen, after our team moved?
I usually bust out my Coyotes jersey for Halloween, but this year I had to add some modifications....sad ghosts.
AF
I bought tickets to see the roadrunners this Friday and will be driving down from Phoenix to catch the evening game. My main excitement was to see MavLam play live. But he was just recalled 🤦♂️
I know the coyotes got locked out for not paying their bills but that arena looks like it’d be a smash hit for bringing in fans. Looking at it on Google maps rn and the whole westgate area around it is awesome.
If a team comes back to AZ, would fans like them back at Gila River or would you all prefer them in a brand new stadium?
I saw Deadpool and Wolverine the other day, and there’s an ending montage tribute to the Fox Marvel movies. I thought to do the same but with some of the most memorable/my favorite Coyotes moments. Here it is, enjoy.
I was looking back at some older posts and what Steve_Hunts said on his post about VGK bringing Phoenix into the Knights' TV market gave me a bit of an idea - staging the Frozen Fury series in Phoenix, but I'm gonna take that to a new level.
The Frozen Fury series, as we know, is a set of preseason games that were once contested in Vegas, then moved to Utah after Vegas got the Knights. It was the NHL's way of testing the interest of markets that didn't have a team. Now that Phoenix had their team stolen, why not stage the Frozen Fury matches at Footprint Center or Desert Diamond? Rotating Western teams can face each other every year and it can be broadcast nationally on TNT. The national exposure would show fans hockey can work in the desert with the right ownership group.
Examples of possible matchups:
San Jose v. Chicago
Vegas v. Seattle
LA v. Anaheim
Winnipeg v. Utah
Calgary v. Edmonton
Minnesota v. Colorado
Would Coyotes fans be receptive to all this?
My jersey I wore for only the games. Save until we get another team or just start sporting it all the time this winter?
The pain of not getting the 1 pick AND that being Utah definitely hurts(doesn’t matter I expansion drafted amazingly)
