I have a ton leftover. Anywhere I can donate? Should I leave the pumpkins cut up out for squirrels/turkeys? I've heard some people donate at a farm store to feed pigs.
Very wholesome. Pretty much on par. Cheers.
We all have heard the stories, but where were you on Halloween 1991?
It’s dead in our area of Plymouth. Breaks my heart! How’s it in your area?
I just moved here & I feel like everything takes forever. I’ve been waiting on important time sensitive documents for 3 weeks when I was told it would take 5 days. They also lost my car title & put my rollover retirement checks in my neighbors mailbox. Luckily they realized & gave it to me. Good thing I’ve been getting my Amazon packages on time though….. 🙄
I lived in the Twin Cities around 1978-1980. There was a band that played Led Zeppelin covers locally and maybe toured elsewhere.
I remember catching them at Libation Station if that helps.
I was thinking their name was something like Chameleon but am not sure.
Any old rockers remember them?
34/M seeking professional relationships!
I know this has been posted before but I’m not finding anything recent. I’m looking for professional networking groups where I can make friends that are more career and business minded.
Through whatever strange tides of fate I have ended up with a friend group largely composed of artists, nomads, and gig workers. I have very few friends in the corporate world, so I get very little advice on career issues, how to advance, connections that can help me grow, and people I can share my experience with.
I am a Business Analyst in tech with over a decade of experience, but since COVID have been WFH with little professional social interaction. So I’m looking for any kind of group comprised of professionals in the Twin Cities area.
Any advice or thoughts is appreciated! Thanks!!
I’ve never lived in a big city. When driving through a construction area sometimes the lanes will merge to the shoulder or other side of the road and there is a solid white line. Does that count as an uncrossable line?
Blew an engine on an 09 civic and dont know what the best course of action is with it.
Looking for breweries or bars with fun Halloween drinks to check out tonight?
❄️
I've visited several times, but haven't stayed long enought to get the full experience. Northloop if fun, but dont think I could sleep there. Cedar-Isle-Dean seems worry free, but definately family-land, Summit-Macalester-Grove is chill and in the center of the two. I dont know were else to go to meet singles in this age range.
Hey there, I recently moved into Minneapolis, my brother and his family have been living here for a year. Are there any good neighborhoods for trick-or-treating? I know his kids will love taking part in this tradition.
So Tour Les Jours just opened a few months after Paris Baguette. Both are South Korean pastry chains. It seems a bit random — I hope Maple Grove can support two such places.
I’m a 23-year-old single male with no children, looking for an upbeat living atmosphere in the Twin Cities area. I grew up in rural Minnesota and have visited the region many times, but not enough to fall in love with a specific suburb or neighborhood. I enjoyed the North Loop and watching Twins and Timberwolves games, so I’d like to be within an affordable Uber ride from there. Ideally, I need to stay in or south of the Minneapolis-St. Paul area due to my upcoming job in a southern suburb. I’m looking for a great place to live with vibrant nightlife, walkability, and a short 10-15 minute drive to the city.
Thank you!
Hi all,
I'm Kristin, a reporter at Marketplace, a business show that airs on NPR stations, including MPR. I grew up in the Twin Cities exurbs and am hoping to feature a Minnesotan in the project I'm working on.
I'm looking to tell in-depth stories about the economy and how people are living in it: how they're making financial decisions, how they spend their money day to day and how they feel about the economy and where they sit in it.
We're looking for a diverse pool of people when it comes to family structure, household income, age, etc. I'm especially lacking responses from soon-to-be retirees and older right now. But I'm still looking for people across all ages.
Interested in potentially participating? Please fill out the form linked below. And please share with anyone you know who might be interested.
Thanks for considering,
Kristin
We're planning on moving next year when our lease is up around june or july. My wife's parents live in the Minnetonka area, we visit always for christmas but seems a little rich for our blood to live there.
A little info about us. Two 30 somethings originally from the Midwest. We've also worked in the service industry since forever. We've lived in the North Loop area, off south Lamar and currently live off Mopac by Circle C. Any recommendations for areas similar to those places to start looking? We'd love to have a house with a decent backyard to have a couple chickens and a proper garden.
We'd love a little North Loop/Hyde Park vibe. When we lived there everyones house was unique, we have the cookie cutter neighborhood. We could walk to a coffee shop/bar and everything we needed was a short drive away.
Austin natives living there I know you exist. Where do y'all suggesting looking at for houses/apartments?
We decided to get some steaks from Lindey's to broil at home today along with their bread and greaseless has browns. It got me wondering what other local restaurants sell food/pantry stuff for home.
Some of my other favorites are:
Peanut butter from Hell's Kitchen (so chunky and good).
Hot sauce from Modern Times Cafe
Toum (garlic paste) from Beirut Lebanese Restaurant
What are your faves?
Does anyone know where I can buy some soondae? Just like the frozen kind you can boil to eat. I checked out Asia mall and my local Korean market, but I couldn't find any.
So they dropped barrels in the left lane (both directions) between 280 and 35 on Monday… are they going to start doing something? There’s not even a truck or a single crew member on the scene.
Why snag traffic for a week for absolutely no reason?
I have a feeling that the weather today might be due to the fact that we could actually but the good (decent sized name brand) candy to hand out tonight.
Hey everyone,
We'll need a high turnout from the Twin Cities this election. Here is a list of voting resources:
✨Check if you're registered to vote, or find your voting location: iwillvote.com (easy url to remember)
✒️ Register to vote:
If you're not already registered, you can register in person when you vote (either voting early or on election day). To register in person, you need to bring your driver's license, college ID or tribal ID. If the ID you bring does not have your current address, you'll also need to bring something that shows your current address (a bill, for example). Full list of approved IDs here: https://www.sos.state.mn.us/elections-voting/register-to-vote/register-on-election-day/
🇺🇸 Early voting in person:
See the list of voting locations here:
A couple of early voting locations (there are hundreds more):
- Hennepin County Government Center, 300 S 6th St, Skyway Level, Minneapolis MN 55487, Mon-Fri 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (Open to all county residents)
- Ramsey County Elections-Plato Building, 90 Plato Boulevard West, St. Paul, MN 55107, Mon-Fri 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
The last day to vote early is November 4th.
📬 Vote by mail
Request your ballot here: https://www.sos.state.mn.us/elections-voting/other-ways-to-vote/vote-early-by-mail/
You can request your ballot any day except November 5th, but the returned ballot must be received by November 5th, or your vote won't count. You can mail it back, fax it back, or drop it off at your county election office. Find your county election office here: https://www.sos.state.mn.us/elections-voting/find-county-election-office/
Make a plan to vote! If you make a plan, you're more likely to follow through on it.
Out of stater here who applied for a job. What’s the work culture like at U of M?
Haven’t lived in MN long enough to know how a day full of rain and possible snow might dampen the enthusiasm of kids (and let’s be honest, it’s really about the parents accompanying them) to go trick-or-treating tonight…
Yes yes something something ‘91, but feels like things have changed since then. I routinely read and hear how fewer people are going trick-or-treating overall (I’ve seen various explanations offered for this trend including the rise of Trunk or Treats).
I’m in the northwest burbs.
