In 2023 we had an awesome two day “festival” (more so a two back to back stadium shows) at Target Field. It was a lot of fun and it was great to see more concerts at the ballpark.
After getting sued by Wisconsin’s Summerfest for trademark infringement all the socials and web presence for this festival were deleted - and we didn’t get another one in 2024 (although there was plenty of good Target field concerts last season in its place)
Do you think we will be getting another TC Summerfest with a new name? Or was this a one off?
From my perspective - after not selling as well as they hoped and the name thing, they must have just decided to cut their loses.
Honestly they could’ve had a better name to avoid this all. Grand Slam Music Fest, Twins Summer Jam, KILLERSBrew Root Beer fest and friends (that’s a bad joke)
Would love more concerts at Target field this summer - hope they bring something similar to TC Summerfest back.
What is the best luxury hotel to stay at in Minneapolis?
I’m looking at the Four Seasons, W, and Hewing. Which is best?
So, I'd like to cancel my planet fitness membership, since they're big MAGA donors. Can I quote the Right of Cancelation statue to get out of it?
I've been a member for 4 months.
Hello neighbors! I’m considering buying a 2010 Chrysler town and country, how much does it cost (with today’s gas prices local to the northern suburbs of MSP) to fill the tank? How much does it cost you to fill yours, or a similar make/model? Thanks
I have staple places like Pho Hoa in mpls and Taste of Asia in EP that make really good Vietnamese coffee but the one in mpls is not consistent all the time. Sometimes it’s too sweet, sometimes too watery or thin. It’s never perfect two times in a row😭
Or what are really good coffees that other cuisines have that I should try if I like Vietnamese coffee?
I’m from MN and no longer live there. My mom is recently retired and wants to get involved in fighting against almost everything the Trump administration is doing. She is not on social media. Specifically, she cares a lot about about immigrants, disabled people, POC, abortion rights, LGBTQ rights, and she is a big union supporter. She is in her 70s and wants to physically show up. Any advice to support this is welcome. If you disagree with her interests and don’t want to help, please just fuck off.
Love,
Her daughter
Best shop in/around the cities to get American traditional? Any recommendations are appreciated
.
I keep passing it all the time and I love the vibe it looks like they got inside, haven’t heard anything about it tho. Is the food good? Is it pricey?
Don't know what I'm really asking here but is there something like a tourist personal helper service around? My parents are flying out for an event and it requires multi-day overnight travel for my dad and I. My mom isn't interested in traveling to said location, my wife just started a new job so no PTO, but my mom still wants to come out and spend a few days both alone and with me when we get back. Issue is she just had leg surgery and is still in rehab for that - her docs gave her the OK to travel as long as she keeps up with the PT at-home stretches so she wants to do stuff but by herself is kind of out of the question due to needing Ubers, wheelchairs, whatever.
What I'm looking for is someone to help get my mom between our suburb house and the cities, help her around, make conversations, interesting trivia, make recommendations, that kind of thing. It's honestly just a 9-5 gig but I have no idea what I'm googling for this service. Thumbtack is an option but she'd get super weird if she found out so an actual business is preferred knowing her nosy googling.
I would love some ideas for micro wedding venues or restaurants. If they aren’t directly downtown, that would be even better for travel and parking situations. I will go up to 45 minutes radius of minneapolis and st paul. If they are in the heart of Mpls or St. Paul but you know it would be a smooth experience, throw it out there! I can’t have somewhere that some handicapped/not as mobile family can’t easily access. For example, needs elevator option and ramps (I have grandparents that have medical equipment and cannot do stairs.) From car to venue needs to be a seamless and stress free experience for myself and them. This is the most important to me. I also don’t want guests needing to park super far away and worry about getting to their car late at night and feeling unsafe. I want it to be stress free and easy as we can possibly get it to be!
-Must be handicap accessible. -Accomodates up to 55-65 people. -Keep it under $5k total -Bonus if ceremony and dinner can be held at same place. Not a deal breaker if it can’t. -I want it to feel like a wedding, not like we’re in the party room of a chilis. 😳🤣
Thank you for the suggestions! Share your experience!
A beautiful Saturday night in Minneapolis
I have a yogurt container full of baseball cards that I’d like to get rid of, is there a spot around here where they’d look through the cards and give me an offer?
Hi everyone! I’m currently working on a creative endeavor and writing a play. I was wondering are there any groups out there that would read my play or workshop it? I’m not in any type of theater scene right now but I’d love to get eyes on it when it’s ready. Thanks!
Someone placed some keys that I think are a kia fob near this house on the bricks of the road. I already walked away but a heads up
Hey folks! I hope this isn’t a redundant post. I recently got my ice skates sharpened by a local sports shop, but unfortunately the work wasn’t great. So I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for ice skate sharpening that’s relatively close to the metro? I’d be willing to drive out to the suburbs if there aren’t good options between Minneapolis and Saint Paul, but it would be nice to go somewhere more local.
Thanks so much!
Employer in Minneapolis owes me three paychecks. They claim they paid them direct deposit, but even my bank issued a letter saying the 3 paydays were never received. What should I do next if the employer does nothing after showing them the bank letter?
I am at the theatre with my family and the popcorn is atrocious! What movie theatre in the twin cities have the worst popcorn?
I've lived in the same building for over ten years. I don't think I know the best websites to look for rentals anymore. Or, I mean, is the best method just walking around and looking for "For Rent" signs? Every region is different, and I don't know anything about finding rentals in my own region anymore~
Hopefully this isn't too spammy or stupid of a question and I'll absolutely delete if it is.
Wish I could have joined. I had to work and it’s very difficult to get out of it. But I did happen to have some stickers on me so I was able to give a couple out and even got one back in exchange!
Hi! My partner and I are looking to take private adult tennis lessons together. We are happy to pay whatever. We’d prefer an indoor court in the winter. We are based in St Paul but can be flexible about driving.
Does anyone know a good spot to take tennis lessons in the area? Thanks in advance
With current events, I want to start prioritizing supporting local farmers and getting our produce, dairy, and meat as local as possible.
I’d love recommendations for farms you love supporting and buying from. We are located in St Louis Park but I’m okay driving. Ideally wanting to support people that also support human rights and basic empathy for others. 🥲
Usually in the summer we do lots of farmers markets but I struggle in the winter and I’m from NY originally so I’m not super familiar with all MN has to offer yet!
Hi everyone, I just moved to Minneapolis and am looking for friends (lol). I like thrifting, plants, long walks, and riding my bike. And coffee! I would love recommendations for thrift shops and coffee places to check out! Thanks 😊
I really like the idea of moving there but the one thing that’s making me pause is reading comments about the whole “Minnesotans will give you directions anywhere but their home” thing or comments on Reddit saying they are “cold” there.
https://www.reddit.com/r/madisonwi/s/ftdDBRpibC
I made a post on the Madison Reddit asking this in that link and explaining my aunt and uncle live in Saint Paul and could help me out and the city looks nice, while being more affordable than Madison (Madison is 6 percent over the national average for rental costs and Saint Paul is 6 % cheaper)
Anyway, I’m very extroverted and that’s why for example I loved my time visiting in the Middle East because even strangers would invite you to eat with them and I have many Latino immigrant friends in Madison because they are more on the open side, I worry I will struggle to adapt if it’s really so introverted, but I know there are also many transplants from other states and countries in the twin cities.
Hi! I am looking for a yarn shop with mohair specifically. I live in NE minneapolis and I have only been to knit and bolt. I remember not liking the color of mohair yarn they had and I would love to check out other places. Preferably not too far from where I live but if the yarn shop is worth going to, I wouldn't mind too much.
Are there any protests?
Looking for fun take our ideas around the cities.
We did Saturday Dumpling Co, and it was a total hit - felt like an experience, tasty, could hit different flavor and dietary preferences (meat, vegetarian, spicy, not spicy, etc), good for both kids & adults.
Any other places folks are digging?
Any tips? (Sorry to be superficial during this shitstorm but I do love avocados. 🥺)
EDIT: well, shit.
