Hey everyone!
My wife and I are new to the metro area and looking for a Christmas carols concert, preferably at a church or a similar venue with an amazing choir. We don’t want to miss out on the holiday vibes.
Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance!
My brother lives out of town and loves fruit & cream cheese danishes, but they’re exceedingly rare apparently. I’d love to surprise him with one, does anyone know where I may find some?
Thanks
Hi! I know this question gets asked a lot, but I wasn’t finding exactly what I was looking for in the search engine so here I am. I know I can google this information too and I have, but that feels like reading a bunch of advertisements and I’d love to hear others actual experiences.
I’m looking for a private dining space that could serve casual food/heavy apps and drinks for about 25ish people on a Friday in January for my partner’s birthday. I’m open to pretty much the entire twin cities area—would love to find a place where I could pay per person for an open bar and just serve heavy apps for the food portion, but also open to other suggestions. My budget would be around $1500 all in or $50-60 per person.
Thanks so much!
2025 is right around the corner and I need to know what NOT to do for my companies radio ads next year. I mainly want to know out of pure curiosity and learning. Let me know what is the Worst!
Thank you!
Hey All! Hope you are doing well.
I'm a 29 year old guy from just north of the cities and lately I've had a bit of free time in my life, and I was going to possibly explore volunteering! I heard it's a solid way of giving back and meeting people at the same time which would be awesome.
If anyone knows of any options, please let me know! Thanks so much.
Why do people in “isb” and rawalpindi sleep so early like there is nothing after 11/12 i have been living in isb for years but never got any answer for this and at the same time night life in lahore and other punjab cities is really excited but i wish it could be in Islamabad too as its the best place to live just missing out a little bit of fun.
I know a lot of places have deals around the holidays where you spend $100 on gift cards and get a $20 bonus. Any good local restaurants with a nice giftcard deals right now?
I want to preface that I’m a twenty something, not a small child, but I get a week and a half off for the holidays. I’m incredibly grateful for this but after Christmas I have no plans and am worried about what I’ll do for a week. I want to rest and recharge but I really hate that weird “I’ve been rotting in bed eating exclusively holiday leftovers and don’t know what day it is and I fall asleep at 4pm and wake up in the middle of the night” feeling. I’m planning to get brunch with a family member one day and maybe get a new piercing but other than that I’ve got a whole week and need ideas of how to fill it (I am aware I am incredibly lucky to have this much time off!). I don’t drink and am really uncomfortable in drinking-based environments due to some trauma surrounding alcohol. So any non-alcohol/“going out” suggestion are much appreciated!
ALSO SLOW DOWN, BUT NOT TOO SLOW!
Looking for brunch spot recommendedations around the cities that are nicely decorated/festive, fun and family-friendly!
I just browsed through the recent "What restaurants disappointed you recently" thread and thought it might be useful to turn it around. With the holidays here, some people might have some free time and/or Christmas money to spend at a restaurant & thought suggestions might be useful.
I want warm, amazing cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning but the catch is I'm an awful baker. Do you know of any bakery or restaurant that has premade rolls I could pop in the oven and take all credit for?
Hey Twin Cities, I'm looking to go get my MN driver's license today and wanted to check here if I will have to take a road test. My license was cancelled in the state I moved from after I moved due to an insurance pick up on my part for a misdemeanor offense in the state I moved from and I can't figure out if I'm going to have to take a road test to get my MN license, can anyone help or does anyone know what's gonna happen if I try and go get my MN license? TIA!
Hey all! I’m in search of a very special photographer. If anyone has someone that fits (or you fit!) please drop your information.
I am searching for a wedding photographer that can do a short session of portraits only on the big day. B&G/Family/Wedding Party. 7 groups/setups, should take 1-2 hours I would expect on the conservative side. But all the photographers I’ve seen only sell packages of 8-12 hours for $3000-8000.
Are there any out there that would do just the formal portraits day of? Also film would be a bonus but I’m not holding out for it given how rare this setup seems to be! Thank you for any suggestions~
hi all! looking for recs for the best matcha lattes around that have non-dairy milk substitutions available, thank you!
Every year I like to do as much for random people around the holidays as I can. Whatever I can do to make someone's Christmas a little brighter. I come from a broken home and I certainly know what its like to have nothing. I don't have much family, we aren't close, so random strangers benefit lol.
This year has been very hard on me - someone stole my car and I'm not in a position to get another, I lost a cat to cancer. deaths in the family, caught my girlfriend cheating 30 minutes after I woke up from a surgery, basically my life has been a generic country song lol. It just sucked. Everyone has problems, I'm not any more or less tragic than the average person, but I'm just exhausted after all of it, I don't have the energy to go prowl grocery stores and retail stores looking for those in need. Every year at the end of the year, regardless of how good or bad my year was, I love to bring some sort of positivity to others because I am kind of a dick lol and I think ending the year positive really helps the new year come in strong.
So now that I'm done using Reddit as my therapist, I would like to offer a few PS4 games to any parents out there who are stressing and could use another gift in the stocking. I can mail it to you if you want, you can come pick it up from my apartment if you feel comfortable, you can meet me somewhere public around white bear avenue, whatever works.
Also, I have a ton of steam games I could live without. Good ones, too. I just am bored with or couldn't get into. Does anyone know if there's a way for me to "give" those away? If so, I'll make another post with my offers
The PS4 games available are
Far cry 4
Far cry 5
Fallout 4
Just Cause 6
No judgement, I don't need to hear anyone's stories, you don't need to explain yourself, just comment if you would like one. I'll DM you if you "won". I will prolly do first come first serve. Whenever I give sports cards away to kids, I generally ask for proof you actually have kids, but I'm not going to do that now. I'm choosing to trust. and if you want to lie and get one of these games so you can take your ass to GameStop and get 20 cents, that's the risk I'm choosing to take
(And before people say "bro, ps5 is the thing now" - if you can afford a ps5 and need ps5 games, you don't need my help lol, my offer stands)
Hey all, I'm looking for a good vet in the Twin Cities. A big plus would be if they're great with bigger animals (I have a HUGE dog).

Wife is turning 40 this February and we’ll also be celebrating 1 year from her final cancer treatment.
I want to throw her a big party, probably an event where we all dress fancy. I thought it would be fun to rent out some space for a private party, ideally connected or near a hotel so that people can crash if they drink too much.
Looking for something special/unique with great views from downtown, or just a lesser known place you can rent that fits the occasion. She likes craft cocktails and dancing, so if not at the venue, close proximity is a plus. I could also bring in music if that opens up more venue options.
Can anyone tell me where I can get a pan copper coated aka re-tinned near Minneapolis, MN? I swear the reason I know this can be done is because I heard of a local person that does it, but I can't find them in an internet search
Best places for valentines dinner near skyway theatre in minneapolis? Preferably not fogo.
I have an internship next semester that will very likely require me taking transit and transferring at Snelling and University a few times a week. I (F) have transferred at that intersection before and have felt a bit on edge. I would like to avoid this intersection and that area, but it is the most direct and the timing works best with my schedule.
Does anybody have any thoughts about if I would be safe transferring there on a regular basis, and (at least in the winter) coming back during sunset?
I’m a 30-year-old aspiring electrical engineer seeking a pre-engineer degree at a community college. After years of climbing cell towers, an accident made it difficult to continue, prompting me to pursue education and avoid a labor-intensive career. Moving near a college isn’t feasible due to my shared, inexpensive housing downtown with my partner. I will be commuting via a combination of bicycle and public transit. I’ve narrowed my choices to Inver Hills CC, Normandale CC, and North Hennepin CC. Having scheduled tours of each, I’d still appreciate advice or experiences at these schools. Thanks in advance!
