Are there any movies that take place, or were filmed in Anoka? According to IMDB, there is Sugar & Spice that was filmed inside the Anoka High School and a couple of horror movies that had scenes shot in Anoka. I haven't seen any of the movies, so I was wondering if anyone has more knowledge on this?

Hi r/anoka !! I am a current student at Saint John's University. I am working with the St. Joseph city council to implement a social district up here. We are doing research and we are looking at the Anoka social district as guidance for how we should plan ours out. I would love to hear feedback from residents of Anoka on how they think the social district is going and what the city could change to make it better. Feel free to message me so we can set a meeting time or just message me a large note.
Hi guys! I have a drivers test in Anoka tomorrow and I'm kind of stressing lol. I'm not very familiar with the area and am hoping to drive around/practice for a while beforehand. Does anyone know of places with parallel & reverse parking polls I could use? Also any insight into where the test goes, what to be aware of for it, tricky parts, etc. would be so appreciated. TIA! :)

My friend (18F) and I (18F) are about to become college freshmen. We're planning on moving into the Coon Rapids area early August, we'd love another female college freshman to be our third roommate.
We want to find an apartment thats about $1800 a month, so we can each pay $600 as that is within our budget. A roommate's wants and needs are just as important, and if we all decide it's a good match we can discuss boundaries, chores etc.
Neither of us are looking for a new best friend (but that would be great too!) We just want somebody who is considerate and relatively cleanly.
DMing is the best way to reach us!
Any advice on roommate hunting is welcome too.
Can anyone tell me if any Anoka trails connect to the ones in the Twin Cities? Will be there for a visit and wondering if I should bring my bike.
Honestly all I want..
Hi all! Looking to potentially have our wedding at the Mill Site, but we currently live in CA and are planning long distance so we can't visit it yet. I've looked at tons of pics and Google street views and such but I can't quite figure out where the green spaces around it are (they have ceremonies and stuff outside but I can't tell what side of the building), or what doors open from the dining area/reception room to the outside. Among other things.
Is anyone familiar with the place? I literally have pictures I've found that I can use to explain specifically what we need to know about particular zones, otherwise anyone who knows it well and can answer questions or just draw me a quick map, that'd be amazing. Thank you!
Does anyone know if you really need to pay the parking tickets you get in Anoka in the public lots? I've heard people say that they've gone in to pay their ticket (and didn't have the physical paper) but they said that the lady couldn't look it up because they don't actually keep track of that info??
Mainly looking for info and what the hell even happened
I went to the State information meeting a couple weeks ago at the District 11 building... They said after the 2 years of construction on Hwy 10 is complete, they are going to close 47 for 2 years to build a bridge over the RR tracks. Funding has been approved.
So, that's FOUR YEARS of of construction and road closures for us...
Would anyone know what happened around there? I was driving to work so I only saw the tape and about 5-6 cars. One of em was a Sheriff who looked to be taking pictures on his phone or camera. It was around 5:45 am when I passed by.
Hello Anoka!
I’m a genealogist & I am trained in discovering local Minnesota family lineages and stories through historical records.
This is the interest form I put together for anyone interested in learning more about their Minnesota family history. I create family trees, historical road trip itineraries, ancestral maps, etc! It’s a super cool way to connect with your own history and great knowledge pass down to future generations.
Here are some things you can discover from my research:

What time does everyone usually start trick or treating? Just when the sun goes down or is there an official time?
Any tips on best place to park for the parade tomorrow?
Got a 3 yr old who is finally ready/excited to participate in Halloween activities so we are just getting prepared. Are you all participating in the festivities this weekend?
Every night after dark I've heard the sound of small arms fire. Is there something happening? Night fire exercises? I thought only the sheriffs dept used that firing range.
Hi all, I've lived in Anoka since November. I've been working freelance for a year and that company was recently dissolved. I am basically broke with no insurance and I haven't been able to transfer my driver's license to MN (I last lived in Alaska) so I'm really up the creek. I'm at the point where I'm in constant pain and I fear infection. Aspen offered to fix things at 10k. I really need help finding something extremely low cost or free.
I saw online that this city is (or was?) known for its Halloween events. Is this more of a hometown kind of feel or is there something more adult themed / oriented?
My wife loves horror, haunting, and things of that nature and thought it might be fun for her.
We'd likely not be dressing up unless that's the norm. We love small towns and thrift shops. Any place with cute knick knacks is her jam.
I look forward to any opinions or suggestions, even if it's something further away from the area.
Thanks in advance.
😁
Dear MILF Hunter,
I was driving through Anoka, and I saw you pull out of the lot behind Pizza Man on Main St. I though "damn, that's a nice Chrysler."
Then you pulled out in front of my car and I saw in big, bold, white letters... "MILF Hunter." A huge sticker, covering almost the entire back windshield.
I hope you are able to fill that void in you, and I wish you a terrible day.
Fireworks? Been going for a while…
I am wondering if there is photos of the rax before it turned in to Culver's. Next to the old Kmart.
