On a chain with a.m. antique turquoise and silver Cross. Would’ve been lost in the late 80s/early 90s. Longshot I know but if you found it.
I realize this is a crapshoot on a relatively dead sub, but I was curious if anyone happens to have a list of the year 2000 varsity soccer team roster. I moved away years ago and was curious who played my senior year.
Cheers!
What was the huge fire today?
I found a lost iPhone (TN) Elk River
Internet I hope you can do your thing. I found this iPhone on Labor Day weekend (the exact date Friday, September 1). Was canoeing on the Elk River (TN) and came across it on a bank. It was found a mile below Ferris Creek bridge. It was a newer black iPhone (13 Pro Max i think) and will hold a charge. It still has service (Verizon) so I think it was lost recently.
A picture of the case is shown.
If you know someone who lost their phone recently, tell them to call their number!! I will be happy to give the phone back, just want to get it to the right owner!
I did a delivery from St Paul today and there are some very tricky turns in Elk River. I was shocked a little at how if you are unfamiliar with the area, how easy it would be to turn into oncoming traffic. It's extremely confusing coming off the highway and taking that left into town.
Hey I have to have a Pap smear tomorrow and am dreading it. I tried once when o was 21 they couldn’t finish it I was too worked up and it hurt.
Clutch has been slipping for a while and it getting worse. Do you guys know anyone that can replace it around here? Something reasonable not too crazy, since it's an old car.
If a comic and/or gaming shop were to open in Elk River, what kinds of comics (classic back issues? current issues? indie comics? manga?) and games (tabletop? collectible card games?) would you like to see sold there?
Anyone know about the pack I can hear regularly from around the northstar station? Heard them twice tonight, just around 12:40am and a few hours before that. They are just far enough that I dont mind hearing them, and its kinda cool. But other people have to be closer and just wondering.
Thinking about starting a support group for those traumatized by the extreme traffic when trying to cross town.
Does anyone know what they're trying to accomplish dredging up Orono right now? A few days ago they did pull out something that looked like a collapsed pier.
Major fault in one of the fiber lines between Elk River and the hub in Buffalo is causing the issues with internet and phone service. At first the estimate was that it would be fixed today by 18:30 but that has since changed to sometime tomorrow.
UPDATE 8PM:
Internet has been restored to the Elk River area.
I start off this story 3 months ago. Like most people, i check reviews before doing business or purchasing a larger ticket item.
The Shop Tire and Service Center seemed ok, 5 star reviews, nothing noticeable that may cause issues. I will come back to this later.
Now i will present the particular issue i had.
I went in for an alignment and inspection, to sum this all up, they attempted to take me for a ride then back pedaled eventually after they knew i wasn't having any of it and also missed a busted cv boot with an inspection after i spent 5 minutes on my car.
For those that dont know, this is a potential hazard if you take a hard turn, accident that hurts myself, passengers and other people on the road at worst. A car that doesn't function and stuck wherever it crashed at best.
They broke a strut mount, lied about it being welded when it was corroded, haven't they worked on a vehicle in the midwest? Apparently not.
The worst part about this is they didn't bother informing me about any issues until I called 3 different times, then expected me to pay for the broken strut mount. I understand their frustration here, i had to hacksaw the other side myself, but i would do well to inform someone before potentially breaking something if i was in that position.
One off pudding exchange i had was when i had the owner of the business on the phone, he kept trying to back pedal claiming how great their customer service is, when i never even accused them of anything, until now anyway.
A customer shouldn't have to listen to a tirade about how great customer service is, it should be a naturally occurring element to any decently run business.
To top all of this off, they knocked something into my brake calipers causing an extremely loud noise when i depressed my brake pedal. After pointing this out, the owner tried to pass the buck once again.
Maybe they just hate good word of mouth, or dislike imports, i would have been fine with them refusing the job outright.
One good side to all of this is I learned to fix it myself, instead of a 2500 bill they quoted me, once again i understand their frustration of working on corrosion on a vehicle, but they should probably be seeing this everyday as a business with the proper tools and setup to help ease that burden.
Getting back to the reviews, i believe them to be padded. Talking on the area facebook group, the 5 minutes my post was up i already had another person contact me expressing they had an issue with The Shop Tire and Service Center as well.
Now onto the reason i am posting this. I was called personally by the business owner this morning over my google review, i told him i didn't feel like talking to him, told him to have a nice day and hung up.
He then threatened me via text on his personal number he was going to have his lawyer contact me, haven't heard anything yet.
I don't mind so much shoddy work done, it is the bullying tactics of this business that bother me.
Not everyone is able to easily stand up to jerks in this world, so i sure hope this post reaches people before they have a similar experience.
I check this sub periodically and I just want to know if anyone still lurks these dark quiet halls.
Y'all should order some Papa johns. We slow as hell and I don't want to sit here for 2 more hours. We got bacon cheeseburger and mushroom Swiss burger pizzas for only $10.
