I'm 40/m in Minneapolis who is looking for someone to go hiking or to go exploring with such as museums or restaurants.
Again, I know this is very niche but I also wonder if there aren't more of "us" out there. We don't have purebred dogs so struggle to find acceptance within the sporting/training community but still want to find what makes your "mutt" work/click.
Looking for more active friends who are into hiking/sports/running together occasionally or weekly. Always more fun to do things with others but kinda intimidated by joining large groups especially alone😭 I’m also interested in reading/book clubs and studying/learning.
For those arriving, I am wearing a green sweatshirt and beanie. I have a tall table with cribbage boards out on one end. Closest place to check is by the self-serve taps.
Anyone is welcome, regardless of experience level! If you’re curious to learn, it’s easy to pick up on.
The market is in NE over by Surly Brewing, close by a light rail station and plenty of parking if you drive. The space itself has food and drink options galore.
Feel free to show up and go any time, the timeframe in the title is when I’ll be around to host. Per usual, I’ll include an update in the post when I have found a table and where I can be found.
If you plan to come by, please drop a comment or message me so I can make sure I bring enough cards/boards. If you want to bring a board and/or cards please do!
See you all there!
Looking for recommendations for a holiday light display that would be a good place for a marriage proposal in the Twin Cities area.
It’s that time of the month again, friends! Secret Drawing Club meets Saturday, November 9, 1-3pm at Eagles 34.
SDC is for all skill levels. Beginners, drag alongs, and professionals are all welcome.
BYO supplies. That being said, I do bring extra supplies, including a coloring book and a sticker book. So if you decide to pop in on a whim, you're covered.
I set up a still life for drawing inspiration, but feel free to bring a project you’re working on or draw what’s in your heart. I'm not your boss.
Food and drink available at Eagles. You're not required to order, but it does help support the club if you do.
See you Saturday!
Ok maybe this is a little too out there, but figured I'd try in case there are other nature nerds out there and it'd be more fun to go with people.
Would anyone be interested in going to this event to learn to make rope from Nettle? It's a plant that can be foraged in MN.
12-2 on Saturday at Fort Snelling state park

Hi all,
I'm a recent 21M transplant to Minneapolis from NYC. Haven't made much of a social circle yet so would love to meet some new people. Since moving here I've been getting really into bouldering and have been going to the Bouldering Project pretty regularly, and I was thinking about signing up for the recreational division of Boulderfest this weekend. The scale of the event seems a little intimidating to join solo however so if there's anyone here who would be down to come with me that'd be dope! Also outside of this weekend if anyone is looking for a climbing buddy to meet throughout the week I'd be very interested as well. Outside of climbing, I'm into playing guitar, seeing live music, video games, and checking out cool bars and restaurants. If anyone is interested feel free to comment or shoot me a dm!
Hi Everyone,
Please use this meetup link to sign up if you are interested: Thanksgiving Weekend Dinner/Potluck, Sat, Nov 30, 2024, 4:00 PM | Meetup
Let's have a vegan Thanksgiving dinner/potluck at my home in Champlin on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. All are welcome even if you are not vegan but are curious to try vegan food.
The event starts at 4pm and we'll start eating at 5pm. I will also have compostable to-go boxes so we can all bring home leftovers!
Please bring any vegan dish you would like to share. I will have cards so we can label if the dish contains gluten or any other allergens. Let me know if you need to use the stove, oven, or anything else. I'll need to know beforehand to ensure we don't have too many people trying to use them all at once.
I will provide the following dishes:
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone!
Regardless of who you voted for we could all use a distraction. I have updated the list with more shows this weekend!
The Twin Cities comedy scene is thriving! While Acme and House of Comedy often get the spotlight, there are plenty of smaller venues that deserve your attention too. This week, in addition to nightly open mics, you can catch amazing shows featuring both local and out-of-town headliners. I've rounded them all up for you below.
Many shows are free, with suggested donations to support the organizers and keep the scene alive. These contributions help comics from all over the country sharpen their skills right here in our city.
Without further ado, here are this week’s comedy shows:
Monday, November 4th
Tuesday, November 5th
Wednesday, November 6th
Thursday, November 7th
Friday, November 8th
Saturday, November 9th
Sunday, November 10th
TBA
Shows Outside the Twin Cities
Friday, November 8th
Saturday, November 9th
Sunday, November 10th
TBA
If you’re interested in signing up or getting into stand-up but don’t know where to start, or if you just want to support the comics and help provide an audience, please check out Mike Brody List
This is where I normally post an open invite to play boardgames, but I will be staying home this Friday as there is a Magic the Gathering pre-release weekend and the game stores will not have space for anything but that.
What I will be doing instead is going to a weekly meetup hosted by Twin Cities Cardboard Crew, Thursday, November 7th at Blackstack Brewery at 6 pm. I do not run this event, so if you have questions about it you can join that public discord. This is their regular weekly meetup but they also do a bunch of other events like a monthly themed meetup and some of the regulars host occasional at home events.
Here's a link to that discord http://tc3.games/
30M. Looking for things do to by myself. Already been to all the museums, zoos in the cities a year ago but if there's anything new open to recommendations.
TIA
I'm moving to Saint Paul this weekend and hoping to find a crafting group with a younger crowd (preferably in their 20s). Does anyone know of any groups?
Anyone want to go see Venom, TLD in the next couple of days?
No, not dates, as Friend zoned people.
34m.
I’m kinda new here and don’t have much of a social circle yet. Do you know of any Halloween parties or places around Minneapolis? Fyi, I’m 25 (M) and planning to wear a costume. Thanks!
For those arriving today: I’ll be wearing an orange beanie and white hoodie. I have a table by the self serve drink area near the back and cribbage boards on the table.
Anyone is welcome, whether you’re a first timer or a longtime player!
We’re meeting at the same venue from last week - Malcolm Yards is about two blocks away from Surly and has parking. There’s a variety of food options and self-serve drinks (if you partake) with a large venue space inside.
I will bring a few boards + card decks. If you’ve never played before and are curious, you’re especially invited! The rules are simple and easy to pick up on.
This is by no means a formal event- show up and leave when you’d like; I’m planning to be around from 2-5.
See you all there!

Have a great weekend!
Im a transplant from the east coast. I moved to Minnesota a couple of years ago but have had difficulty trying to socialize or get acquainted with anyone. I live in the Plymouth area, so I am wondering if there is any good spots/events for young adults in their 20's to socialize or meet new people? does NOT have to be a bar. Just want to get involved and put myself out there.
:3
Hey everyone. I graduated from college this spring and am looking for some friends in the cities. While I do like the occasional night out and enjoy some brewery trivia, I’ve never been much for going out. I run and do triathlons competitively so I’d love to train together, but also love crafts, cooking, and just hanging out!
Hey, everyone! I’m looking to meet new people and hang out. I moved here 3 years ago for work (I’m a software engineer). My interests and hobbies include: playing music (guitar, bass, drums, singing), tennis, anime, movies, video games, and running (recently got into it). I’m a bit introverted, but trying to get out of my comfort zone. So I’m down for pretty much anything. Shoot me a message if you’d be interested in getting to know each other!

I've got an open spot in a DnD 3rd edition game that I'm running in person at a local game store in the cities. There are a few people in the group that are new to DnD/new to 3rd edition so newcomers are welcome. We are all in our late 20s/ early 30s and are looking for people of a similar age range.
I have been playing for almost 20 years. I've been DMing for about 5 years, and have experience DMing a variety of systems, and teaching new players.
If you are interested or have any questions, feel free to comment or shoot me a message.
This is an open invite to join me at Dreamers Vault in Roseville Friday, November 1st to play boardgames. I will arrive around 6pm and play 15-30 minute games with whoever is there. At 7pm we'll decide what longer games to play. You'll know me by my bald head, bushy beard, and Costco/Ikea bag of games. I usually get a table at the back on the left side of the gaming area.
I've seen a lot of "looking for friends" posts on this subreddit and that is what this is about. I make a point to bring both simpler "welcoming" games for people new to non-mass market games as well as more complex games for the veterans. The regular attendees tend to bring their own games as well so we always have a lot of choices (maybe too many sometimes).
If you've attended before and you'd like me to bring a specific game, let me know here and I'll make sure to put it in the bag.
I played girls varsity in high school but haven't played for over 2 years now. I'm probably extremely rusty. I'm looking for someone, any age or gender, any skill level, who wants to play on a regular basis -- maybe twice a month? Saturday mornings maybe? As long as you can tolerate me, I'm happy playing you. I prefer just rallying and having fun rather than competition. Ramsey County but willing to travel ~20 min.
As much as I hate to admit it I’m not cut out for self-teaching. Anyone know any good people or places to hit up in near the Burnsville area?
Thanks everyone that went, it was an absolute blast!
UPDATE I yoinked a high table inside by the back patio entrance next to the self-serve taps. I have some boards placed out at the end of the table and am wearing a green sweatshirt and beanie!
Seeing that there's not really any existing cribbage group on here and the recent post full of people that want to play, I'd like to organize an ideally weekly cribbage meetup!
I'm planning to bring several boards with cards, but of course anyone is welcome to bring their own. If you've never played before, it's a fairly quick game to pick up on and I'll be more than happy to teach you - it's an absolute staple of the midwest!
Malcolm Yards Market is over in NE Minneapolis right by Surly Brewing - it's a fairly middle location between the cities, has a large venue, and plenty of food and drinks.
I'll update this post with more details the day before, but please comment if you're interested in coming as well as if you're bringing a board so I can plan accordingly! See you all then!
I'm a bit new in Minnesota, and I’m going to a rave concert for the first time this Saturday. It will be at The Armory, and I’m going on Saturday. I don’t want to be awkward, as I don’t know much about the culture here. Do you think I should wear a costume, or is this not going to be a Halloween-themed rave party?
I’m (29F) looking to make friends here in the twin cities. I moved here about a year ago. I recently finished my master’s in mental health. Now that I’m done with it, I would really like to start going out with friends. I really enjoy breweries. I’ll only have 1 or 2 beers & may bring my dog along. Saturday & Sunday afternoons/evenings work best for me. My hobbies are pretty independent, so I’m just looking for people to talk to & hang out with. I enjoy talking about controversial things and philosophy. Bonus points if you have a good sense of humor. DM me if you’re interested in meeting up :)
