Any candidates that take a strong active stance towards supporting father's rights to a child when separated from mother?

Yeah, hella specific, but anyone who's been through the courts knows that single dads need legal advocates.

OHIO Trending "What's in the Rug" videos on TikTok??? 😳

I'm already invested on this lol That's wild! It started with this woman posting casual videos, sharing how she felt like her house was haunted. She explained why how nobody's supposed to enter her office at night, but things were getting messed up, and her laptop got broken. The first video was more of a joke, and she was mostly pissed about her laptop. But then more spooky things started happening. She mentioned they were planning to put up a fence in the yard, so they began digging. While digging, they found a rug, but it was buried too deep to pull out. So, they called the police, but the cops weren’t too eager to investigate, thinking it might be nothing. She was going to let it go, but things escalated.

Since her TikTok videos were gaining attention, people started digging into the story like looking up the previous owners and doing readings. It went viral, and eventually, the police returned with cadaver dogs.

It’s crazy because she was laughing and excited at first, thinking it was impossible. But then the dogs spotted something OMG. She even livestreamed the whole thing while the dogs were there.

Now her house is taped off as a crime scene because the dogs are trained to detect human remains, so it's confirmed there's a body buried there.

Wild. I actually screamed when the dog sat down on the spot. It’s so insane, like the spirit really did ask for her help, especially since the disturbances started on the same day they dug. WTF!

The 4 Ohio Congressman that voted against FEMA funding.

Jim Jordan, Troy Balderson, Max Miller, and Warren Davidson all voted against FEMA funding last week in preparation for the devastating Hurricane Helene. These actions are absolutely horrific and indefensible. I urge Ohioans to look at the voting and abstaining records of these men and see if they reflect you and how you would act given their responsibility and authority.

I lost my drivers license, is there any reason why I can’t use my old paper one?

I am living out of state right now and lost my drivers license. From what I can tell, if you apply for a new one online, it takes 3-4 weeks and they do not give you a temporary one to use in the meantime.

I still have the temporary paper one from when I first got this ID, and as far as I can see there is no expiration date on it. If I was to get pulled over, would I be able to use that and they look it up in the system from there, or is it still illegal since technically that one became void after I received my plastic card the first time?

Edit: addition question, I’m still holding out hope for a week or two that it might get mailed back to my address on it (and that can be forwarded to me from there). Would the paper license still work as a stand in, or would it be an even bigger problem if I haven’t requested the reissue yet?

Anyone know if Iron Springs farm in New Washington still does corn mazes?

Their Facebook page is pretty dead and I can't find any other info. Would like to do the maze again!

If not, other suggestions for fun & affordable places for fall activities in Central OH would be greatly appreciated.

Stomach bug going around?

Sorry in advance for the TMI.. Over the last 12 hours I’ve had diarrhea and vomiting once, a headache and terrible nausea while also simultaneously being hungry. The highest my temp has gotten is 99.5 but I don’t have a fever.. Is there a stomach bug going around? Isn’t it a little early in the year for the stomach flu?

Odds of winning (a) smalls claims

My name is [ ], and I am here to present my case against [dealership], regarding a defective vehicle I purchased from their dealership. On September 23, 2023, I bought a 2008 Toyota Camry from [dealership]. Unfortunately, after only less than two months (at night on November 9), the engine light came on with smoke coming from the hood & tailpipe, and the vehicle started overheating indicating significant issues with the vehicle starting with a hole in the radiator. Since then, I have taken the car to multiple mechanics to diagnose and fix the problem including the damaged cylinder head, which has cost me overall over $3,500 and my initial deposit of $3,800. In addition, thermostat housing was replaced while the ignition coil and spark plugs were done constantly. On February 26, the vehicle was jerking and bucking which could've been a hazard to my safety (moved forward fast then stopped as it was sliding) leaving work at night with no choice but to leave the car on the side of the road (interstate/freeway), and take a Lyft breaking my budget to go home. Despite these efforts, the vehicle remains inoperable due to the need for another engine (less/within six months). Due to financial difficulties, I had no choice but to park the car in front of my apartment, while still having to pay the outstanding loan. I'd ask for the contract agreement and loan to be voided because I no longer have possession of the vehicle due to being defective when I purchased it. On May 21, the vehicle was repossessed because I could not keep up with the loan payments for a car that cannot be driven. I made numerous attempts to resolve this matter by contacting both [dealership] and [what I was provided] (warranty company), but my calls for assistance were ignored I would also like to bring to the court's attention that I have been diagnosed with Asperger syndrome. Given my condition, I believe I may have been taken advantage of during the purchase process. I have also discovered that there are numerous complaints against [dealership] for similar issues. This pattern of selling defective vehicles and failing to provide necessary support is unacceptable and has caused significant financial, personal, mental, and emotional distress to my family and me. Under Ohio law being the Lemon Law, Section 1302.27, and Rule 109:4-3-16 specifically subsection B (14), dealerships are required to ensure the vehicles they sell are fit for the purpose for which they are sold and must disclose any known defects. [dealership] failure to comply with these regulations constitutes a breach of contract and deceptive sales practices. Given these circumstances, I am seeking the following: 1. A full refund of my deposit and reimbursement for the repair costs incurred, totaling $3,500. 2. Compensation for any additional costs related to the vehicle's repossession and outstanding loan payments. I respectfully ask the court to help me and hold [dealership] accountable for their actions.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Am I crazy or has there been a decline in the squirrel population?

I am in Akron and I used to see squirrels outside my windows all the time as it is a wooded area. But this summer I feel like I haven’t seen any at all. Driving around I don’t see them either. Is it just me?

The most vile political mailer I have ever seen

The process for this to make it to my mailbox is unreal. 1. Someone took and presumably sold this picture in the first place, 2. someone approved it for a mailer, and 3. someone agreed to print this send it out. I am beyond disgusted. Who is funding this?

Weird outages

What's with the weird outages going on the past like week? I know that the cell towers and everything were nationwide but the chances of a bunch of roads and cities around me experiencing full power outages as well? It's all a little weird to me. Can anyone fill me in on what's going on?

Ohio gets too much disrespect

As long as I have lived in America, specifically in Ohio, I have only ever heard negative things about my state. Even in movies when it would be referenced, it was often used vaguely and mostly as a way to give a character a generic middle of no where background. Here are somethings that I think are cool about the state that took me and my family in when we had no where to go:

Political influence

Ohio has had eight presidents, more than any other state:

William Henry Harrison: Born in Virginia but settled in Ohio, he was the first president to die in office.

Rutherford Birchard Hayes: Born in Ohio.

James Abram Garfield: Born in Orange Township, now Moreland Hills, Ohio.

Benjamin Harrison: Born in North Bend.

William McKinley: Born in Niles.

William Howard Taft: Born in Cincinnati.

Warren Gamaliel Harding: Born in Corsica, Ohio, Warren G. Harding: The 29th president, who served from 1921 to 1923.

Ulysses S. Grant (Point Pleasant)

Ohio is sometimes called the "Mother of Presidents". The Ohio Statehouse has hearing rooms named after the state's presidents.

Economy:

Ohio's economy ranks 7th in the United States in terms of size, beating states like Virginia, Maryland, Georgia, Massachusetts, etc etc.

GDP: In 2023, Ohio's GDP was $873 billion, which is similar to Switzerland's economy.

Employment: In 2024, Ohio employed 5,979,891 people, which ranks it 7th in the country.

Unemployment rate: In November 2023, Ohio's unemployment rate was 3.6%.

Companies include:

American Electric Power Cardinal Health Kroger Goodyear Nationwide Insurance Sherwin-Williams Macy's Marathon Petroleum Procter Gamble Abercrombie & Fitch AK Steel American Financial Group National Machinery Parker Hannifin Big Lots Dana Designer Brands Fifth Third Bank FirstEnergy Huntington Bancshares JM Smucker Mettler Toledo BBW L Brands Jenny's Wendy's Buffalo Wild Wings 4-H club

I can go on and on, but it's so weird how the state that has done so much for this country is known as a laughing stock to so many others. Even though things haven't been great lately with the maga virus, the state has a strong progressive history supporting labor unions, was one of the leading states in the civil War helping the union, It was also the end of the underground railroad where many freed slaves experience freedom for the first time. I love my state!

6mo old Myra Harris survived after being shot in the head by her grandmother.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12969147/ohio-baby-shot-face-grandma-alive.html

According to the family, her grandmother was extremely mentally ill. The family were all living together in the same house. This included Myra, Myra’s parents, Myra’s grandmother, and Myra’s great-grandmother. The night of the shooting, Myra’s grandmother had shot at her own mother and her daughter in law, and then managed to shoot Myra in the head at close range. Everyone survived, and Myra’s grandmother is in custody awaiting trial.

The only statements I have seen from the family have been from a GoFundMe, in which they explain that they are struggling with the cost of care, but also with the emotional pain of having someone they love commit such an awful crime. The family loves Myra’s grandmother, and because of this they don’t want her attacked in the news, and have avoided speaking with the press.

This story hasn’t been covered many places, and I first heard of it through a random youtube channel. I believe part of the reason it hasn’t been covered more is the family’s reluctance to speak to press—something that is their right, and completely understandable given the tragic nature of what they experienced.

However, Myra still needs help, and I think it’s important her story gets out to people. Myra was shot on December 9th 2023, and is still in the hospital due to pressure on her brain and frequent seizures. Myra’s family was already struggling with daily expenses, and this tragedy has made their financial situation significantly worse. I hope that getting Myra’s story out to more people will help them.

Please, share this story, but respect the family’s wishes to keep the story focused on Myra and her recovery. They need help, and that includes emotional support. The few news articles I’ve seen have focused on Myra’s grandmother, and not the fact that Myra survived, or that her family needs financial support.
