If you are planning to vote in Ohio, note that you CANNOT use an out of state drivers license as your ID to allow you to vote. This was a recent change in the law (2023), so this will be the first major election it applies to.
You also WILL NOT be able to use the Ohio Digital ID, you must have a physical ID.
The list of acceptable documents is here (listed below):
https://www.ohiosos.gov/elections/voters/id-requirements/
If you do not have one of these documents, there are some solutions (from best to worst):
(1) You can still vote absentee! This is probably the easiest way to still vote, but you will need to request your absentee ballot soon. The deadline is 29 October, but it is recommended to request the application by 22 October, to make sure you receive your documents and are able to get them returned by the election date.
(2) You can go to the BMV and apply for an identification card (you will need to bring the appropriate documentation to get this card from the BMV). Identification cards (without driver's licenses) are free, and the temporary card that you obtain is a legal form of ID.
(3) In a worst case scenario, where it is election day and you haven't done (1) or (2). You should still go and vote with a provisional ballot. In order for your ballot to be counted, you will have to bring an appropriate form of ID to the election office within 4 days after the election.
If you have any friend's from out of state who are planning to vote in Ohio, please share this info with them as well!
Ohio driver's license;
State of Ohio ID card;
Interim ID form issued by the Ohio BMV;
A US passport;
A US passport card;
US military ID card;
Ohio National Guard ID card; or
US Department of Veterans Affairs ID card
All photo IDs must have the following:
An expiration date that has not passed;
A photograph of the voter;
The voter’s name, which must substantially conform to the voter’s name as it appears in the Poll List or in the Poll Book
**NOTICE**: An unexpired Ohio Driver License, State ID Card, or Interim Documentation with your **former address IS an ACCEPTABLE** form of ID when your current address is in the pollbook.
Hey all, just wanted to ask for 5 minute of your time to complete this quick survey regarding your opinions on coffee and a potential new product. Here it is....Java Jug - https://miamioh.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6JC0Fr2maUrucoC. Thanks so much!
hey! me and a drummer are starting a band (freshman) and we're looking for a guitarist and a bassist who like alternative music and are well practiced and serious about music. dm me if you're interested!
Hey all, my cousin bought tickets to go see Twenty-One Pilots in Columbus for October 5. They were 3 seats kind of up in the nosebleeds that were originally for $150, but plans have shifted on us and Ticketmaster won't let her resell through them. She's willing to go $130 on each. Reach out if you're interested.
Sat, sep. 28th. About 8pm, outside doughbys. You were wearing a white shirt, backwards baseball cap. About 6ft, white male. You looked like a student, although I'm not sure, but sometimes you can just tell. I heard you say something close to "man, I fuckin hate myself". You appeared to be by yourself. I didn't say anything, cuz I been there and I understand that words don't do shit half the time. Keep moving. To stop is to die. This world is bs, made by bs, ran by bs. You can't let the bs win, that's how it continues.
Sometimes, you just have to give af ❤️
I don't remember this restaurant from when I've been in Oxford before, but since Moonstone closed we figured we'd try it. Thursday night at eight thirty, uptown is moderately busy - and the restaurant is dead empty. Our service was prompt and courteous; food tasted great and was reasonably priced for sushi. Atmosphere was very much in line with what seems popular right now - string lights, underlighting, shishi decor. The whole time we were there only two other groups came in, one mobile order.
Is this place just super new and without the commercial presence yet or is there some other reason it seemed so dead?
Sorry if I'm missing something obvious, I've literally just moved to Ox.
Hey! I am a senior at Miami and I am trying to get enough survey responses for my MKT 335 class. We are launching a fake product and the point of the class is to learn about survey design and gaining participants. If anyone has 5 min to take this survey on the struggles of parking on campus it would really help my group out!! It is completely anonymous and should only take 5 minutes, and you get to complain about parking on campus! https://miamioh.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5ApD1UGq8rTOZoy
I saw a lot of Profs today at around 1 pm walking around Armstrong and chanting something about money (I couldn't figure it out as I was not that close). What was that about? Was it a strike? I am curious as I haven't read or heard anything about it.
hey! im looking for like a emo/punk/hardcore/metal scene in Oxford so I can see some basement/house shows for local bands. anybody know any small venues or bands that play often? thanks
edit: freshman here, seems like there's not a lot in Oxford, but if you're at Miami and like that kind of music you should lmk, i would love to talk about it!
Does anyone know if Kumler Chapel on western campus is open to students??
Does anyone know of some guys fighting on Vine street yesterday? A group of guys apparently went into my backyard and tried to fight each other. Sounds like there was several and they tried to get into the house and also banged on windows. It’s a long shot, but I would like to know who they are.

interested in dashing during a bit of free time i have this semester. how does doordashing to the dorms work with parking or handoff?
I’ve heard from my Sophomore child that the switch from Aramark to Chartwell has been a downgrade thus far. Food quality is down, certain items run out, smaller dining hall staffs. My student plans to downgrade her Spring plan unless things improve. Has anyone else heard similar reviews?
Does anyone know where someone can get a tennis racket restrung? Thanks!

How do you guys travel to and from the airport, especially for late night/ early morning flights? I don’t have a car or know anyone who does, so any advice would help! Does a scheduled lyft/uber work?
Hey y'all. I am planning to apply to Miami University fall 2025. I also wanted to apply for the honors program and the presidential Fellowship program I mentioned above. I read from previous posts on this platform that the admissions care more about the essays than academic records. I also recognized there is no supplemental essay specific to the programon common app, so I think it is the personal essay they are talking about. My question is: what should I include in my essay to be competitive applicant? Also is this program available for spring applicants? Additional info: I have very nice gpa, but did not take SAT or ACT. ANY RESPONSE IS HIGHLY APPRECIATED 🙏
Transferring in the Spring and need to sublease apartment to someone. Living in the Verge apartments, 4 bedroom 4 bathroom, fully furnished. If anyone knows anybody who would be interested please let me know. Also, if you have any recommendations on how to go about resolving this other than subleasing, please let me know.
I decided super last minute I want to go out tonight, most likely Uptown but I’m open to all suggestions. What are some cool spots a single 20yo gal could hang out tonight?
There were no required recommenders on the common app application for Miami, however when I went and looked at the application checklist when they emailed me it says it’s awaiting one. I’m confused as to whether or not I’ll need to acquire one for them.
