My kiddo got accepted into Miami, and we're super excited. It was the top school choice. However, we were hopeful more merit aid than offered. He applied with a 34 ACT and 4.5 weighted GPA with >5 AP courses. Admittedly, he's not an outgoing type and doesn't have hosts of clubs on his resume. He does have community service via youth sports programs as a coach, referee, and assistant director (all volunteer positions).
This did not get him accepted to the honors college. The Presidential Fellowship candidacy is still under review but I'm not hopeful.
He is an out of state student, so we're kind of dependent on merit aid and FAFSA.
Any hope he might qualify for the Presidential Fellowship Scholarship given he didn't get into the Honors College with his stats?
Miamis been my #1 school for forever it feels like now. I got my acceptance letter (software engineering) and received 21,000 per year oos with 4.05 weighted and 31 act. I would be happy about this but Xavier university gave me 38,000 per year. I don’t know what to do. I love Miami so much and I’m extremely blessed that my parents are offering to pay the extra cost but I don’t want to be a burden… but I know if I don’t go to Miami I’ll regret it. Does anybody have advice on what to do? I feel like I’d be burning money away by going to Miami but I know Miami has a better comp sci department and I’ll enjoy my college experience MUCH more. I’m also not really in a position to get any money from fasfa. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
I got deferred with 4.0uw, 4.5w, 35 act, 10 ap classes, and pretty good extracurriculars. I’m so confused.
$30k/year in scholarships, oos. So awesome! Who else?
Hi everyone. I am an international student who applied to Miami University through early action. When will the results for early international students be announced?
just wondering, is the max instate merit scholarship 10k/year? Or has anyone gotten more than that?
My daughter was just accepted to Miami Ohio and offered a $22,000 annual Redhawk Excellence Scholarship. She will be using my GI Bill to qualify for in-state status and tuition, which was submitted along with her application. Has anyone had and used both? Does the school still grant the scholarship in this situation?
Hello, I am out of state student who had just gotten deferred from early action. Is there still a chance for me to get in, or are deferrals out of the ordinary for Miami?
I was just notified that I got accepted to Miami with a $10,000 merit scholarship and $5,000 bridges scholarship, which I am very happy with. It says I got accepted into the honors college and am under review for the presidential fellows scholarship. What’s the main advantage of going into the honors program other than the opportunity for the presidential scholarship? Also when would be notified if I was given the Ohio governors scholarship?
Can you buy Starbucks gift cards with dining dollars?
My son was admitted 2 years ago and received many positive emails the weeks leading up to the decision date. My daughter whose GPA isn't as strong has not gotten any emails since she applied EA except for the one 2 days ago letting us know decisions will be out and maybe reading into it to much but worried this is a sign she isn't getting in?? Have others received lots of emails in the last couple of weeks? Or has it been quiet? My son even got one and I know was auto generated, but saying he was exceptional...yikes the silence this time around is so worrisome! She would love to have it as an option and praying she will get in!!!
Is this what everyone's decision date email said?

GL to everyone in EA on Friday!!!
Hey! I hear back from Miami EA this Friday, and I’m wondering if the honors college and/or presidential fellows come out in tandem with the decision or if it’s on a separate track. I can’t find any info on the website so any help is appreciated!
Hi! Earlier today I lost my tan/brown backpack in the data science building and need help locating it. The backpack is brownish and tan with a shine. The room I left it in was 166. Please DM if you know anything
My friend had a party in his room over the weekend and got an IR (instant report). He is still waiting to hear what the consequences are for this. He was cited for noise—not alcohol or any drugs. It was just a group of friends hanging out together on Saturday night.

Hey so I’m a senior in high school right now, idk if anyone could give me some information on Miami? I’ve been there a couple times for equestrian shows but other than that I don’t know much. Anything at all about the campus and stuff would be helpful.
My first semester here has been relatively rough. My roommate is my best friend from my childhood and that has gone great which i recognize is pretty rare. The academics have been going great for me after being a below average student in high school. I’ve been struggling to make friends but I know i’m not doing everything I can. My highschool girlfriend went here too but she said she is now switching at the semester due to social and health problems. Which has been a tough blow to navigate. Any friends I know here are from home in Cleveland which is 4 hours away. I joined a couple of clubs earlier in the semester but none of them clicked with me. What should i do? I always have the mentality to stick things through but do you all think I would be happier if I would transfer? (context been with girlfriend for a little over a year)
Hi all, my brother attends Miami and was thinking about surprising him in January over break in Oxford with friends and going out. Will the bar scene be decent or will it be dead due to the break?
I currently work at Chipotle and the management is terrible! Don’t recommend. Does anyone know any good spots that pay at least 12. Thank you!
Trying to help my sister out who had to medically withdrawal find a sublease for Spring 2025. Apartment is one block from Brick on Walnut St! Fully furnished as well. Message me on here if interested, thank you!
Hi, I am an international applicant. I recently applied to Miami University. As I am badly in need for the the scholarship because of my financial situation, I was wondering if anyone who was selected for the scholarship would like to share a bit about their profile which they think helped them secure the scholarship. I would very much appreciate your help. It would also put my mind into ease. Thank you.
Preview of the huge matchup this weekend! Go Redhawks!!
I hope this is allowed
My cousin passed recently, car wreck. We had lots of fun yellin out "WHITE WOMAN GANG" through town/campus. One night, as we chanting, he compliments this really beautiful girl in a white dress. She blushed. Bro was hung up on her, "queen" as he called her, for days. He was def going through it, but had the empathy to try making someone else's night better. Queen, thank you for bringing a few moments of happiness to my bro
