hi yall, i’m currently an honors CIS pre-major right now and i’m worried that it may be over for me getting into the major. I’m currently taking math 4181H, physics 1250, and CSE2221 and a couple other 1 credit hour classes in my first semester and I’m looking at an A-, B+, and C respectively for each class. I’m going to have a >3.4 gpa, but i don’t know if that’s enough and I now know i messed up putting so much time into physics and math and neglecting software. I understand all of the material and topics in the class, I just didn’t have a ton of time to work on the projects or homework so i half assed a lot of them. So now i’m just not sure if i’ll make it into the major. I’m just so stressed out as is coming towards finals and i really don’t want to let people in my life down. Am I cooked?
Hello everyone,
I’m a full-time employee, I work in Cleveland and I’m about to finish my Associates degree in 2 weeks. I’m planning on moving to Columbus and transferring to OSU next summer as a part time student to pursue my Bachelor’s in Finance.
I visited the Campus and spoke with admissions specialist and he said, “a bachelor’s in Finance, requires you to attend classes in person during business hours, 80% of your courses will require this.”
Is that true? Am I really unable to take evening classes and complete a my degree?
I have a good paying job rn but I need to graduate so I can start moving up into my area of interest. If my only option is to go during normal business hours, I will have to demote myself to a much less paying job, to work part time, and get another job on the weekend to help make ends meet.
Please share any insight or opinion or a better person to connect with, at this point, I feel very helpless and I hope someone can help.
Kind of a stupid question, but I just want to make sure. I’m an architecture student doing a side project where I document historic campus buildings in photos, and Hale Hall is a pretty significant work. (It’s on the National Register of Historic Places.) However, to my knowledge the building is a safe space for the Black community on campus, and I want to respect that.
Would it be okay as a white student to be inside Hale Hall and taking pictures of it? I don’t want to be invading any spaces that I don’t belong in, and I want to respect the people who need that safe space inside the building. If so, are there any areas I should stay away from inside? If not, I’ll keep my photos limited to the exterior. I’d appreciate if students who use the building could give their perspective.
Hello, Reddit! I’m a dental student at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, and I’m currently looking for new patients to treat at our student clinic. As a part of my clinical education, I’m able to offer a wide range of services under the close supervision of experienced faculty members, so you can feel confident in the care I provide. Here’s what you can expect:
If you’re interested or have any questions, feel free to message me or leave a comment below! I’d be happy to provide more details about the types of treatments available and how to get started.
For those who have taken it or are taking it now, what is a good study plan for this final? Having trouble finding one. Thanks.
same as title, TIA
I just want to go to a library and hook up with a monitor by HDMI to my laptop for a little bit. I have an HDMI port on my computer, it would be a massive time saver to have a second monitor for a bit.
Title says it all. I lost my black beats headphones at Jesse Owen’s North Rec last night, I left around 10pm. Front desk didn’t find them and I searched around with no luck :( If anyone found them please message me. Also use this as your sign to give found items to the front desk because it really sucks thinking someone took them
Does anyone know how to find the office hours of a professor if I am not currently enrolled in any of their classes?
Thanks!
It's almost one semester till the towers has changed to 16-ppl suites. How do you guys think of your experiences and life in the towers?

How does campus housing work for 2nd year scholars programs? Are we in the same dorm as our first year or what is the housing process for 2nd year Scholars? Thanks!
has anyone taken ochem 2510 with psaras mcgrier? i know he doesn’t give practice final exams and was wondering how it is formatted and also how it is 200 points when his midterms are 100 and we get similar time on both the midterm and final. i am slightly worried both on my grade and the time i get on this exam since i use up every minute on the midterms. please if anyone has any advice or can help :)😭😭
I have been noticing frequent posts about Biochemistry, organic chemistry and physics. Is there a Reddit group or somewhere else I can join to further help on these subjects remotely? I would like to help some of our fellow buckeyes breathe easier through these subjects, but I cannot come directly back to Ohio State, as I am busy with my own career at another university for my Masters.
I’m a transfer student and have not explored OSU that much. I went on google maps and haven’t seen Italian places nearby except a place called Bravo but I don’t want to take a CABS to Kinnear rd 😭😭😭
I noticed 3-4 Columbus PD cars parked by the smith lab area and a whole bunch of OSU police cars circling around campus. Does anyone know what that was about ?
He gets paid $9.5 million a year and lives in a $2.2 million dollar mansion in Delaware. How is he worth this much when he can't even beat an unranked Michigan at a home game? I know there are multiple people who are to blame for last weekend, including Chip Kelly, but you would think he would do better after three straight losses in a row. 7-0 to 1-4, what a downgrade.
So I'm coming to the end of my first semester and neglected my Intro to Engineering class (1100). I don't know why but for the first couple months I thought that the class wouldn't be graded and was just there to guide me through how the engineering program worked at OSU. I still did the assignments but turned a couple assignments in late. I am now looking at the grades section and am seeing that I have a 73% in the class, which I'm assuming means that this class will affect my GPA. I was wondering if there is any way to drop this class or to use grade forgiveness? Also how will this affect my chances of being accepted into the CSE program? I already applied and was going to receive a decision in December.
Yes I know this is a silly mistake considering the class is easy but I guess I put in more effort for my other classes and didn't think this class would be important. I would appreciate any advice.
If he won't fire Dumb Dumb Day, then he needs fired instead.
For over a decade now I've been wanting to rise up and go to school. Finally make it big with a proper career. But aside from the cost, the main problem was time. How could I go to class while also working full time? Might be nice if all my classes were online, but I find that's not always something you can swing. And if you can, it's supposed to be a lot harder to do online classes. It's supposed to be easier when you go to the lectures.
Until I saw this funny sketch and it got me thinking "Oh yeah, lectures can be recorded." And mandatory lectures suddenly start look like mandatory return-to-office orders for remote jobs. Maybe a relic we've moved past? Yes, there are still proctored exams you have to take. And if I'm having trouble grasping the material and need to ask clarifying questions, that's probably easier done in person than by email. But outside of that...
Anyway, what I thought/hoped was that if online classes weren't an option I could take classes that aren't technically "online," but have their lectures posted to Canvas so they're online in everything but name. Is that a reliable strategy at OSU? Maybe for some majors more than others?
Does anyone who did really good on Organic Chemistry 2 provide any information or insight on how to pass the course, I will be taking it next semester
Does anyone know if they do dental implants and if so the cost on them? Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.
