hey does anyone know what all the commotion was on High St tonight? i wasn’t out but heard all the police and ems going down the streets. hope everyone is okay!!
I'm an international student interested in OSU's chemical engineering, however my university agent says that it would be easier for me to apply for chemistry and then change my major to chemical engineering. I have 3.62 unweighted gpa, 3.80 weighted, 1440 sat, and I'm taking another one in november. I got 5s in AP calc ab and AP micro, 4s in AP Chem and AP ES. My ECs are OKAYish but I do lack competitions related to chemistry.
As we approach midterm week I know a lot of us are experiencing this fatigue. I’m personally at the point where I’ll read the same simple sentence over and over and I just can’t comprehend it. Anyone have any tips that they’ve found have really helped them stay motivated?? Advice is welcome for professors and staff as well because I know it’s stressful right now for you guys too!
Hello, next semester will be my last in the university, but I still need to get 12 credit hours of upper division courses. What might be some classes that are relatively simple/easy to take and/or have little to no exams.
I’m a first year in the honors arts and sciences program currently trying to plan out my schedule for next semester. I want to knock out my GE themes and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for what specific classes to take, as none of the ones I can take have anything to do with my major or minor anyway. I would like it to be a 4 credit hour class but if not that’s fine too
Hey,
Is anyone in 20361 | MATH 2153: PE A103 11:30 - 12:25 and still need a group for written homework?
Has anyone taken a 4 credit hour theme course with a moderately light workload and online [preferably]?
If anyone has Lexine Trask for Anthro 1101 and has a complete set of notes for before midterm 1, would you be able to dm me or send them to me? I missed a couple of days and she doesn’t post the full sideshows online. Thank you!!
So I live by the Kroger south or people call it kroghetto
My question is parking can be dicey here in high street and I’m avoiding a ticket and a tow at all costs.
what’s stopping me or can I park in krogers parking lot during the day and come back at night and park it somewhere else?
I just don’t see how they track how long each car stays in their lot during the day
Thoughts?
Is there anyway to print a book, or longer pages to fold into a book on campus?
Musty Morrison (Morrison Tower) Norton Stank (Norton) The Jower (Jones Tower) (my personal fav) Itch cock balls (Hitchcock Hall) Cock and Bolz (Hitchcock and Bolz Hall combined) Smeeb (Smith Steeb)
I just think these are funny and wanted to share. Let me know if any others you guys know!
hey all, i’m a current student living in an off campus apartment and i’m applying to grad schools in the near future. i’d like to go here, but obviously that’s not guaranteed and i won’t know by the deadline to resign my lease.
does anybody have any experience getting off campus housing before started grad school and would be willing to share? thanks!
So I have a ticket to the Iowa game but I think I’m at block o north student section
All the people I’m going with are sitting together at block o south..
How strict are they with seating like this? Am I going to be able to go to the opposite end and sit with them?
Why did my Lyft from campus to my nearby off campus apartments within the coverage area discount go from being 5 minutes away and $4 to a new driver being 15 minutes away, and when I go to rebook rides are $15 for someone who's 20 minutes away. What the hell happened.
Its a bizarre and frustrating experience. I know the title sounds specific but our experience is very different from our others. Being a plus size Black woman in engineering is different from being a fit Black woman in engineering. It's different from being a plus size Black woman in another major. It's very very different from being a non-Black woman in engineering. I basically get daily reminders that we don't belong here.
If you don't know how it's different its because you just don't fall into this demographic. I'm not trying to be mean. People outside of these traits just may not understand.
Hi! I'm currently a pre-CSE major freshman at OSU, and I was wondering what classes I should take over the summer at a community college. I wanna minor in math and possible double major with Data Analytics. Would love any and all advice. Thanks!
Hi all,
Any tips for visiting a patient at OSU Harding in Columbus during the OSU/Iowa game? I usually go visit around 6 or so. Should I adjust times? Will I be able to find parking?
On November 5th, Ohio will vote not just for President, but for Congress, for state Supreme Court, and for ballot measures on issues like gerrymandering. Register and vote so you'll have a say in what kind of country America will be!
In Ohio, you must register by October 7th to vote. You can register here: https://olvr.ohiosos.gov/
##Voting in person
Ohio has early in-person voting from October 8th to November 4th. Find your early voting location here.
If you prefer, you can vote at your polling place on Election Day, November 5th.
When voting in person, be sure to bring an accepted piece of identification.
##Voting by mail
Any Ohio voter may choose to vote by mail. Apply for an absentee ballot here.
Ballots must be postmarked by November 4th (the day BEFORE election day) and received by November 9th, so mail your ballot back promptly. You can also personally deliver your absentee ballot to your local Board of Elections. Some counties offer additional drop-off locations; check your county Board's website for more information. If you return your ballot in person, you must do so by November 5th.
If you mail your ballot, you can track it here.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
So I submitted my vax history (which was a huge PITA to gather) in August, and I got an email a couple of weeks ago that I still needed varicella (only one dose was on my record despite getting both as a child), tetanus and hep b (these were my fault for not reading the requirements more closely)
I went to the health department yesterday to get them done and while talking to the nurse I mentioned they're for OSU, and she said that they might not let me schedule for the spring until they confirm I received them. Which takes a month for them to process and additionally I have to get the second varicella next month
Is this true? I tried calling them with no answer, and my email was replied to with a copy & pasted non-answer. I'm SLDS so I'm supposed to start scheduling in a couple of weeks but now I'm worried because my classes next semester are somewhat competitive and I work full time so I don't have a very flexible schedule
Any insight would be super appreciated! If they won't let me schedule for spring I'd start looking into a waiver, especially since I've already gotten the varicella
Y’all, we have a tailgating space reserved for the Iowa game in the Fawcett Center parking lot. Will we be able to use the restrooms in the building during the afternoon?
I don’t expect this to solve anything, and it pretty much is me venting, but maybe other students can relate. Or, maybe someone important can see this.
But DAMN y’all. I’m a vet using the GI Bill, so my residency should officially be in-state by law. Submitted the required proof and paperwork well before the deadline and they’re STILL holding onto almost $14k of my student loans. Money I intended to use to, I don’t know, survive.
Like if it was just a huge past due balance on my account, that’d be a different story. But loans pay the school first which has a big ol’ fat “non-residence fee” sitting right on top.
I don’t think whoever is in charge of processing this is lollygagging over there or anything (hopefully). But I can’t be the only one out here living off credit cards and bologna sandwiches just to live.
Hi everyone,
So today, my backpack died, and I’m looking for a simple, temporary replacement to get me through the day. I remember the bags they gave us with the OSU logo on them when we got our iPads/Surface devices – something like that would be perfect.
Does anyone know if there’s a place on campus where I might be able to get one for free? Or like any big plastic bags?
Thanks!
Every time I pass by Curl on the way to class or to eat it always seems like there's always more bricks missing from the crosswalk in front of the building.
Are they being taken for fun? Nutritional purposes? Ritual sacrifice? The possibilities are endless and the answers are few. But seriously, walk past Curl and you'll see what I'm talking about.
I saw this class and it seems interesting, but I am wondering if anyone has actually taken the class. If so, can you tell me what it entails, and if you thought that it was worth it or not? Thanks!
