I drive a 2005 Subaru outback and I'm wanting this engine. Is there a shop anyone can recommend for the work? Yes I know it's not cheap. I know I could buy another car. I know I could get a cheaper engine. I'm building this for my parents.
Guys....what the FUCK is going on with these drones?!?! They're being seen in Texas/Galveston now!!
Can't wait till some Texan whips out his rifle and actually shoots one down....

Does anyone know of any around town?
The last couple of years I've only flown out of IAH and never had to remove any bigger electronics (laptop, Xbox etc.) or foods/liquids which I love. I don't have TSA pre-check, just the normal line.
Does Hobby make you remove these things from your bags? Maybe I'm just a spoiled IAH traveler, but sorry for the question. Figured it could help others plan with packing during the Holidays too. Thanks!
So I know for my power bill, you can get some pretty detailed minute-by-minute usage data from CenterPoint.
I’m trying to figure out what is driving some large bills for a community—separate the irrigation and maybe tell if someone leaves a tap on for extended periods of time. We have 1 meter for a few houses. So I’d like to be able to track minute-by-minute usage and see if it’s something we can fix.
Does something similar exist for city of Houston water meters?
If not, is it possible to tap into the meter’s wire to read it? Or maybe I just get a time-lapse camera take a picture of the meter every minute for a few days?
Sorry but this is totally random. I’ve been craving to start a small band, not really looking to be famous or anything. Just want a few buddies to get together with and have a little jam sesh and make some music together.
I can play the guitar, bass, drums and piano, but my main two instruments are the guitar and bass. I can sing a bit too but I think other people are better. Manly looking for another guitarist or bassist and drummer (maybe pianist).
Now I don’t have a preference for the genre not really trying to categorize our music that’ll be making just something good. Here are a list of songs that inspire and motivate me to make music: Songs I like playing/learning
Songs I wanna make
If you’re interested hit me up. If not thanks for listening to my TED Talk. Sorry if this was long. If you know anyone interested or have a way for me to make this post smaller anything would be great thx.
How are these taco trucks making their green sauce? It’s crack and I want to make my own
We live close to Bellaire/Meyerland and we’ll have our newborn with us! Looking for some affordable date night options. We’re willing to drive but not too far!
Hey guys, I want to learn how to drive stick and my father's willing to teach me, but we don't own a car with a M/T. We wanted to know if anyone would be willing to get paid to let us borrow their manual car for a bit or even let us buy it. Thank You, and DM me if interested
Looking to establish care with a high risk OB/GYN. Any recommendations? Leaning towards Texas Children's Pavillion for women since I've heard such good things. If you could elaborate on how your experience was with said OB that'd be great! Female OB's only please.
We have household things to donate a few times a year. I would like to donate to an organization that supports pet rescues or similar. I'm struggling to find this. I am open to driving basically anywhere in Houston metro but NE suburbs or downtown is most convenient. Any ideas?
Thank you for any help. I've been trying to find old pictures online but can't seem to find anything. I remember it being across from the Barnes and Nobile. Definitely in the 2000s, not sure if it was there in the 90s.
I’m about to purchase a condo, central ac and heat work fine for now; but I expect them to die soon as they are old units. This was reflected in the sales price of the condo, and seller gave me a credit.
It’s a small unit (500ish sqft), very open concept space too.
Cost to replace central heat and ac is about 5,200. I was thinking, if I got a portable ac (with dual hose), A dehumidifier, and a portable heater (larger ones with the fan), then that should be plenty enough to cool down/heat up the unit since it’s only 500ish sqft. If it was a large house, I’d agree that central ac is a must.
The cost of those 3 items with warranty will be about 1,000-1200 dollars. I expect the 3 of them to last at least 4-5 years, maybe longer for the heater and ac.
Living in a hot humid place like Houston, is the approach of using portable ac + dehumidifier + portable heater a good substitute for central ac given the size of my unit? Or should I just fork over the cash and get central ac? Thanks.
We've been dealing with a broken hot water heater for nearly 2 weeks. I have a house guest that has been a trooper this whole time and I want to treat her to a day spa where she can linger and chill at for several hours. Preferably indoors since there is rain forecasted this weekend and it's chilly outside.
Got any recs? Preferably centrally located.
I've checked Resort Pass and saw a couple options. King Spa is too far. Houstonian is too expensive.
Hey, thinking about buying tickets to an event at the toyota center but can someone tell me if the view in the 400 section is worth it? I don't want to buy tickets for a shitty view
Anyone seeing anything? East and West Coast have reported sightings
I want to go into the MLT programs in both of these colleges but I honestly don't know which one is better. If yall could give yall experiences from these school it would be greatly appreciated as I'm having a hard time choosing.
It happened. I left my phone on a United Flight when I was unboarding and the phone has since been transferred to this location where it has been since Monday. I have filed a claim with United, reported my serial number and IMEI number, called their Baggage Recovery Center every day (never spoke with anyone who is actually able to do anything; everyone just works remote for some contractor), called IAH Lost and Found who say it's with United, etc. I also asked if I could just drive there and pick it up but whoever I talk to, they won't give me any information and say that the phone has not been recovered yet. Now, it is out of battery and I cannot track its location anymore. Does anyone know, what kind of desk or place my phone could be at? It looks like Terminal C and there is lots of United stuff around there but there are several levels there, no? Does anyone have any advice what I could do? I am located in Houston although it's more than an hour drive for me even when there's no traffic at all. Any ideas?
I’m sure it’s been discussed on here before, but it’s still insane. Yesterday a train stopped on the E-W tracks that run through Sawyer Heights/ Rice military just before 4pm. It was stopped for at least 20 minutes and threw the entire area into chaos. I’ve previously seen them stop for hours. People trying to go north to I-10 were trapped and people trying to go south from I-10 and go home were trapped.
Thousands of cars attempted to go over to Yale street and eventually the area settled into gridlock. I know nothing about how the railroads work or why this happens. It’s not the first time it has happened to me, but please god somebody fix this. It shouldn’t happen at any time of the day, but it’s especially frustrating after working all day.
For those who travel in and out of IAH be aware that the Terminal B TSA checkpoint will be closing on January 15th, 2025.
I would love to have my wedding reception at a restaurant that can fit 60 people for private dining.
What I’m looking for ;
Any input is appreciated! Thank you so much!
I recently bought a water dispenser but I've been having a hard time finding refill station. I live 5 min from RIce and tmc.i went to several heb (meyerland & buffalo speedway) and two kroger (kirby) but I couldn't find one that let's me refill water for cheap. I don't really care which brand of water but I just want to refill for <$2. Thanks
