Goodbye
Im a bit disappointed, I’m sorry but how does Houston have less Michelin stars than Atlanta and Orlando? Our city is literally known for food.
I need to park at HCC central to speak with an advisor but i’m not sure if I will have to pay for parking or is there a lot where visitors can park for free? Thanks :)
I have an elderly family member that is struggling with some pretty severe substance abuse issues (I believe alcohol), but it also seems that they may have some mental health and/or dementia type symptoms co-occurring. Their children have tried nearly everything, even a temporary psychiatric hold and they got sober and psych help as well (~5 days inpatient care) but refused additional treatment and meds once released. They do not want to be helped.
We are afraid they may harm themselves or someone else if not forced into treatment. I am told that the only real option left is for a family member to become a court-appointed trustee…this seems like a nightmare of a process and overwhelming to even get started.
I would be very appreciative if anyone reading this has knowledge or resources in the Houston area that may be helpful to determine how to navigate this process, next steps, options, etc.
Do I need to see a family law attorney to start? Any in the Houston area that specialize in these situations?
We have reached a pretty desperate point.
Thank you very much.
First time visiting Houston and I loved it! I flew into William Hobby which was like any other airport and then I left out of IAH and I was shocked. I had never experienced this level of dirtiness at an airport. It’s shocking that people can be this dirty and even more shocking that there’s no one to clean it ! (There was alot more trash under the seats and not in the pic but didn’t care enough to record/ take a pic)
Looking to get a lifetime fitness membership and wanting to see if anyone would be open to sharing it. I saw from other posts that if you add people through the app then you don't need to verify the address. Their pool and amenities really caught my eye.
Congrats to all the winners!

I have a vague memory that they serve steaks but that’s almost everything here.
Trying to get rid of some lingering cigarette smoke smells from my car, any recommendations?
I want to know which restaurants Houstonians would eat at every day if money was not a factor.
Update: I was only looking people to drop names of the restaurants they’d love to go to that are upscale guys. Just a fun little question..
My birthday is coming up this Sunday, I want to do something fun. I am thinking of a pottry class with my husband. I am open to suggestions and please mention where I can do it as well. I can do cooking class as well. So anything fun you have in mind, please suggest. Thank you in advance. Area- Houston/ Sugarland and nearby areas.
6:45 is when the ceremony is tonight. Who do you think will get it and how many in the houston area do you think we will get one?
In for the evening…Does anyone know any good trivia spots near downtown?
I am looking to buy a chiminea. Does anyone know where I could buy one not from a major retailer (Lowe's, home Depot, etc) ? I feel like a flea market in the east end could have them but I can't think of anywhere else. Any help is appreciated.
This year for the first time the immediate family decided we don’t want to cook Thanksgiving. Looking for everyone’s favorite takeaway or dine in Thanksgiving alternative. It can be Thanksgiving food, or not, open to both!
Hi, I wanted to know any stores that provide pickleball paddle demos. I tried tennis express but no luck
I'm planning to go on nov 23 houston rockets game. I am creating my budget and wanted to know the price of a hotdog and beer inside toyota center.
I don't normally watch reality TV, but I recently started watching Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares show (the 2023 revival that's technically season 8, but came 9 years after season 7). I'm aware that only 10-20% of the restaurants featured on the show survive, though to be fair, it's probably beyond their control. Most of the time, it appears the restaurant's ownership/management revert back to the old bad ways after he leaves or they're too far into debt to get out or both. The businesses probably were 100% likely to close, so saving 10-20% is decent.
I read that they'll release more episodes in early 2025 with restaurants in New Orleans, Austin, and Houston.
It made me wonder: Which Houston-area restaurants really should be on the show? Let us know why. I searched the subreddit and found in another thread that Kings Blu Jam Cafe is getting the treatment.
I need help with a hostile work environment situation and am seeking legal advice, as inexpensively as possible. I'm not looking to file a lawsuit, just get advice from a lawyer on handling a difficult situation in the most effective way legally.
No further details because I'm concerned about doxxing myself.
I'd like to speak with an estate planning/wills attorney with experience with Medicaid eligibility issues. I'd prefer someone along the 1-45 corridor between 610 south and the Baybrook area. Any recommendations?
Who got the best fried scrimp po-boy in town? I love me some fried scrimps I tell ya what.
Does anyone have a peach tree in their yard that's growing well?
I want to plant a peach tree and trying to find the variety with the ideal balance of chill hours and cold hardiness.
My eating preference is for a soft yellow peach.
Thanks!
Hey, Houston. Trying to find something that isn’t just a Great Clips/Supercuts for my son.
He’s middle school aged. Hair is very thick and curly and down to his shoulders. He wants it shorter now. Nothing complicated just kinda longish on top and short around the ears. Like a fade of some kind?
Looking for something $40 or under ideally, and around the NW side, like 290 & 1960 area-ish.
Also, please let me know what the vibe is like of places you suggest or if there’s someone in particular to request. My son is on the spectrum, and I don’t want someone who’s gonna be pushy and rude bc he’s not as chatty as some kids. He’ll do and say what he needs to but he doesn’t like talking to strangers more than necessary.
Help a mom and a son out and let me know where the good spots are? He’s a great kid and I’d like to treat him to a haircut that isn’t done by me in the kitchen for a change lol.
