Wreck-a-Mech 1/15/25
Tonight was a fierce one. We saw several mercs show up for their contracts against the Jade Falcons and the Scorpion Empire. Nowhere was safe from the carnage. From the rolling hills, the frigid tundra, and the sprawling city. Thank you to all the Mech Warriors who made this another great night of Battletech.

I have an old working Dell Dimension 4100 PC, old working HP Pentium Pro server, and an empty NZXT PC case that are going to be stripped of parts and recycled if I can't unload them. I need to get them out of the house.

WRECKMAS DERBY '24
Here at Third Coast Games we had a great night of testing out one of our player's first custom scenario. Sadly, we won't be having another Wreck-a-Mech night until January 8th. Until then, I hope you all have a merry Wreckmas and a happy New Year

Wreck-a-Mech Destruction Derby
In happier news, we'll have our last Wreck-a-Mech game of 2024 at Third Coast Games this week. And we have a special treat! One of our own has created their first dastardly scenario: Matt's Destruction Derby!
It'll be a battle mech derby, with MechWarriors making laps around a track, dodging obstacles and weapons fire from their fellow contestants. For this week, we'll be sticking with Medium mechs worth 55 PV or less (this includes the pilot skill change).

Update for Space City Brawl '25
MechWarriors, it comes with a heavy heart that I say this. Space City Brawl will no longer be hosted at PeliCON next year. That being said, I will be looking into a different venue to host the tournament. I will keep you all updated as I work to find ourselves a new battleground. Until then, keep wrecking those mechs!

OVERRUN, Wreck-a-Mech Battletech Night
Alarms of a planetary assault stirred the bear from its slumber. Deep within the boreal expanse of Taithea, a heavy formation of Capellans sought to overrun the defenses of the Rasalhague Dominion. The forest came to life with screeching metal and crackling lasers. Pillars of smoke dotted the horizon as units fell. The battle waged on longer than either side expected. With their mounting casualties, the Capellans were forced to withdraw from the battlefield.
We had an absolute blast last night. I'm looking forward to returning to the battlefield next week. I hope to see you all there!

Pre-Thanksgiving Wreck-a-Mech

I'll be hosting the AS350 Format games. For those unaware of what this is, it's a universal framework that can be used for both casual and tournament-style games. Players create a list of 350 PV worth of units. From this list, you’ll need to create a 250 PV army best suited for 1 of 8 random scenarios. HOLD THE LINE
Orbital sensors had indicated an unknown vessel entering the atmosphere of Marwa: a frigid mining planet within Canopian space. The First Fusiliers were sent to investigate. Contact was made within a dense boreal forest. An unknown clan force was attempting to push their way towards a rich ore facility. A pitched battle ensued. The clanners had brought to bear overwhelming heat-inducing weaponry. While many of the Fusilier units were forced to shut down, the cavalry of the Canopians rushed in to destabilize their line. In the end, the clanners were forced to retreat or risk the rest of the planet's forces to rush towards their undefended dropship.
Another great night of Battletech Alpha Strike here at Third Coast Games. I want to thank our growing community of players for being so awesome!

[In-Person][D&D5e][Tuesdays 6:330 PM] Mythical Midgard at Golem's Gate
Hey all! I’m still looking for players in my Tuesday D&D 5e games, we start at 6:30PM. This is run at a little shop in Stafford called Golem's Gate, They've got a meetup and it's got the address/location there as well
The game is set in the Kobold Press setting of Midgard, a fantasy European-style world with inspiration from Norse, Greek, Celtic and Egyptian mythologies. There isn’t a pre-made story for the group, they’re going on their own adventures as they like, taking jobs from an Adventurer’s Guild. The two current players have some long-term goals but beyond that are looking to have more adventurers join them for a long-term adventure.
The group is currently level 3 and using the 2014 ruleset, so still pretty new to the adventuring life. I let my players roll for their ability scores, rolling 4d6 and re-rolling any dice that show 2 or less. They get max HP at every level. They are also using a Gestalt system which allows you to have 2 classes at once, rather than multi-classing.

On the desolate world of Heraklion, where the machinations of the Word of Blake awoke from their slumber, desperate MechWarriors found themselves forging uneasy alliances. Their only means of escape was to repair a pair of battered dropships. It was not an easy task. As they scoured the wasteland for much-needed supplies, waves of the AI-controlled machines swarmed their encampment. Many lost their lives so the others could escape.

Wreck-a-Mech Halloween Special, Pt. 2
As you regroup following the rescue of the auxiliary techs from the “Touch And Go”, there’s a lot of nervous conversations in the back of the APC. It’s been quiet since you broke contact with the zombie horde, and everyone is on edge, knowing the quiet can’t last.
“All right commander, we’ve got good news and bad news.” The friendly voice from your on-orbit escort carrier cuts through the delirium.
“Good news - your techs were right, it looks like there’s an ancient Leopard only 30 klicks from your position, and it’s mostly intact.” “Copy, and the bad news?” “Bad news - there’s a lot of zombie activity we’re seeing from orbit, and it looks like they realized that’s your only way off this rock.” “Affirmed. Appreciate the intel, groundpounders over and out.”
"Y'all heard the call, mount up!" you shout, clambering back into your cockpit, as you hear the whirring of reactors and engines. You might just survive this night yet.
Your long trudge in the dark is punctuated by flashes of weapons fire as Blakist machines along your path harry your journey. The strobing of the pulse lasers especially casts an eerie sense of motion across the landscape.
So far resistance has been minimal, less than you hit before the swarm rescuing the auxiliary techs. You hear occasional chatter that things are “too quiet”. On a hunch you check in with your on-orbit escort.
“We’ll be up over the horizon in… 15 seconds, I’ll let you know what we’ve got.”, she pauses, the sound of monitor switches coming softly through the open mic. “Concur commander, your hunch is right. They seem to be mostly pulled back from your route.”
“I’ve got a bad feeling about this.” You muse, “I bet whatever’s driving that horde wants off this rock as bad as we do.”
“That’s a good point. Want me to glass your position just to be safe?” she says in a joking tone
“Ha. Ha. Very funny.” you say, but you worry that if things go wrong, that’s exactly what you’ll have to do. As a last resort, you tell yourself.
It's always darkest before the dawn. But you've got a glimmer of hope. This fight will be tough, and you'll need to plan for a number of possible objectives:
Collecting spare parts for the dropship
Protecting the dropship from enemy forces
Handling possible infiltration of the dropship by enemy infantry
Like last week, we'll be splitting 300 PV between all the players at the table, so choose carefully. Everyone is welcome to attend, even if you weren’t there for the first session. Perhaps your forces are stragglers who got separated during the chaos. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to message me.
