This is the Texas Clearlake subreddit. Welcome to all Houston redditors but mostly around the Webster, Kemah, Nassua Bay area. Also SouthBelt if you're bad at reading maps.
If your post doesn't show up right away PM me immediately, it probably got caught in the spam filter accidentally.

Hi everyone!
I (33F) am brand new to the area (here for work) and I don't know a single other person here. I imagine that might be a common situation amongst other young professionals, so I thought I would try putting together a fun, inclusive group where women, men, LGBTQ+ folks, and non-binary friends can get together, hang out, and connect over good vibes and mutual interests.
Whether you're also new in town, looking to expand your social circle, or just wanting a chill place to feel comfortable, come as you are! We can plan all kinds of activities—grab a coffee, go for walks, check out local events, game nights, or just have some relaxed get-togethers where everyone feels welcome.
If you're interested, drop a comment below or DM me, and I'll start organizing something for us. Can’t wait to meet all of you!

Anyone know why a left turn near highway 3 on clear lake city blue is being blocked off?
My husband lived here years ago when it was Baybrook Village. It kind of sucked because of maintenance and some not so savory neighbors.
BUT, that was then and this is now and the price is right and we only need a place for six months before we do our big move. So, any more recent experiences now that it's The Brook?
Howdy! I’m exploring interest for a young men (22-28) support group to meet roughly bi-weekly in Webster/Clear Lake. This group is intended to be free/low cost, functionally anonymous, and open to all. It is not associated with any church/religion. Our mission is to give young men a support system as they go through major life changes such as moving, graduating college, finding work, and navigating social/romantic relationships. I can provide some guided group discussion if that is wanted, but I envision it to be a place to talk, listen, and share advice. I'm not trained to be a therapist professionally, but I do have a lot of experience and confidence in leading a group like this.
Please reach out to me if you're interested in joining or if you have any ideas on where to host a group like this! Thanks so much in advance.
I notice there are unfortunately not many small, independent grocery stores to shop at but what are some small businesses in the area with some history that I could support? Preferably not restaurants but things like hardware stores, novelties, books, etc.
I’ve seen a few posts here before asking about local trivia nights. Union Tavern on El Dorado has started doing trivia every Tuesday. Next one is on the 29th and it’ll be Halloween themed. There’s no cost to play and they award prizes to the top 3 teams.
Just voted today at UHCL (at the Bayou building) and there was no wait at 5:30pm.
Everyone go vote!
You can also vote at Freeman library or Clear Lake Park. https://www.harrisvotes.com/Vote-Centers
Hello everybody.
So I’m relatively new in the area. I posted a while back about BJJ, which I still want to do.
I also am interested in learning boxing. Are there any places in the area that offer boxing? And not like a gym where it’s used as a form of cardio and I’m punching the air or shadow boxing. I’d prefer a place that actually teaches good technique.
Thank y’all.
Title … I’m looking for a reputable and hopefully affordable place to get a car stereo installed into a >10 year old vehicle. Bonus if they can install a back up camera too.
Willing to travel a little for affordability.

Hello everybody.
I’m fairly new to the area. I want to start BJJ. I’ve looked at Gracie Barra BJJ (Webster, TX) and Peak BJJ (League City, TX).
Anybody a current student, former student, or heard anything about these gyms by word of mouth?
I want to hear information before I go.
Thanks y’all.

Multi-genre electronic music producer/musician in search of motivated skilled charismatic vocalist for duo - live performances regionally and nationally and releases. Practice and recording sessions will have to be at me place (that's where the gear is!)in the area. I am not looking for a mercenary musician but rather, a long term partner. I have all equipment required to perform a show. Prefer someone that can play an instrument.
Please have vocal samples ready to send. I have plenty of music and videos to share!
I have a soon to be kindergartener next year! Wanna prepare myself. What have been your opinions on the school?
I’ve been here for 3 years and I don’t know the story behind the Asian guy that always walks around. Is he alright? He’s the one with long hair, baggy clothes and flip flops. He always walks around the UHCL area, mostly Bay Area Blvd near it. Just curious.
One person unfortunately died because of it. How far away is it from Clear Lake ? I’m not familiar with that area.
Thinking about moving to clear lake. Any apartment recommendations? So far looking at the village on the lake, aura beacon island, and the Pearce on the lake. I have a dog, work from home, and looking for a good size apartment with significant other. Anything would help! Thanks!
Our purse was on one of the picnic tables in front of the playground an hour ago and there werent that many people today but my family member walked away for a couple of minutes to see why one of the kids was crying and when she came back it was gone. It has her and another family members phones, her newborns bottles, medicine, pacifiers and a couple other things. If anyone saw anything please msg me! It has a lot of memories in the photo galleries🥺
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital is excited to announce a series of initiatives designed to raise awareness about breast cancer prevention, early detection and treatment options.
Throughout October, Houston Methodist Clear Lake will host events and activities aimed at spreading awareness and honoring survivors, including:
Community Partnerships The hospital is collaborating with Clear Creek ISD and Baybrook Mall to engage the community and share vital information from the Houston Methodist Breast Care Center at Clear Lake. Staff will host an information booth and giveaways at several Friday night high school football games and on Saturday afternoons on the lawn at Baybrook Mall. In addition, on Sept. 27, the hospital sponsored the Pampered Pink Gala, held in support of local men and women battling breast cancer. The event had 450 breast cancer survivors and caregivers in attendance and included a fashion show featuring Houston Methodist Neal Cancer Center at Clear Lake patients walking the runway.
Women’s Health and Wellness Event Join the hospital for an enlightening Women’s Health and Wellness Event on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the University of Houston-Clear Lake Campus Recreation & Wellness Center, located at 2700 Bay Area Blvd. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with leading health care professionals on topics affecting women’s health, including breast care and cancer prevention. A Q&A session will allow participants to connect directly with our medical staff. Registration is required and can be completed online at join.houstonmethodist.org/womens-clearlake.
Going Pink for Awareness To continue raising awareness of breast cancer – and celebrating Bay Area Houston survivors and those currently battling the disease – the hospital will be lit pink throughout the month of October.
One goal of these initiatives is to encourage local women to schedule their annual mammogram. Studies show that one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. When detected early, breast cancer is easier to treat. Most women should have an annual mammogram starting at age 40.
The Houston Methodist Breast Care Center at Clear Lake provides the full continuum of care — from screening through treatment and beyond — all in one place. To schedule your annual mammogram at Houston Methodist Breast Care Center at Clear Lake, visit houstonmethodist.org/pink or call 346.356.PINK (7465).
“Breast cancer affects countless lives, and raising awareness is crucial for encouraging early detection and supporting individuals in need,” said Carl Little, CEO of Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital. “We are dedicated to being a trusted resource for our community and providing compassionate care for all.”

My garage door broke. One of the wheels snapped off and one of the cables is now hanging loose (and outside the door). Went to open it, something snapped (probably the wheel), and now it's hanging crooked.
Any recommendations on a reputable overhead door company to come look at it?
Me and a friend are looking into going there pretty soon, and we're curious what the age demographic usually is? I'm sure it depends on what music is playing, but we wanted to know what the general age usually skews to on any given night.
Weird question, but does anyone know where there is a big patch of honeysuckle growing wild in the area? I was telling my three year old about it and now I want to go show some to her and maybe dig up a piece to plant it in a pot for us to grow. Thanks!
Hi yall, I've heard really good things about this program but I wanted to hear more about it before starting the application process. Anyone here in it? Do you go to campus every week, and are the classes engaging?
Been like this for ar least a week now...
I searched to see if this had been asked before but I only saw one post that was 8 years old.
I’m looking for a new dentist. I’ve been going to Kemah Family Dental for several years now and thought it was fine for my two cleanings a year.
Well, my orthodontist begs to differ! He saw plaque buildup on my teeth right after my next cleaning! If your dental office does a bang-up job cleaning your teeth, where do you go?
(Oh, and I’m sure you’ll mean well, but I really don’t need dental tips! Ever since I started Invisalign, my dental hygiene is top notch!)
Thanks!
