Hi! I’m currently a high school student, and UH is my top choice. Unfortunately, I don’t have enough money to attend at the moment. I’m an out-of-state student and received the Academic Challenge Scholarship, which granted me 4k and in-state tuition, but it’s still not enough. I also didn’t receive any financial aid from FAFSA. Does anyone have advice on how I could receive more funding from UH? 😭🙏🏾
hey guys does anyone know how signing up for summer classes at a community college works? im hoping to take them at HCC but im assuming registration isn’t opened yet because i couldnt find the classes i wanted. does anyone know when registration is and what to do after we complete the classes? thanks!
anyone that got a student ticket to the tech game not able to make it and looking to give it away?
Yoo, I’m a physics major and I’m most likely gonna transfer to uh bc I live in Houston. I love chalkboards (more than dry erase) and I am hoping there are places I can go to when I need to study and do hw late at night and use boards.
Are there any good locations you recommend?
Hi, everybody. I have a screen printing business I run with my father and I was just wondering if I could advertise it on campus by putting up flyers or business cards on the school bulletin boards. However, I don’t know if UH have rules/regulations regarding this. Does anybody know if this is allowed? If so, where are the best places to do so? Thank you!
this will be my first year receiving a 1098t. how does it work, i’ve read the school pages but it doesn’t make much sense. do i give it to my parent since i am their dependent? is it required to claim it?~ or is it optional? what do yall recommend?
Hello, I'm a senior right now planning on entering uh and I was wondering how we apply for scholarships, specifically the academic excellence one and cougar promise as I'm unsure when I should expect to receive those scholarships from UH.
Hi, as the title says, my first option was CS, my second was Mech Engineering, and third was Global Hospitality and leadership if I remember correctly. I chose my 3rd choice randomly because I wasn't interested in anything else but CS or Mech Engineering and turns our that is what I get. I don't really got anything special going on when it cones to my academics. I have a 3.6 GPA and top 25% in my class of about 600 students. UH was test optional so I decided to not submir my awful SAT scores. Would going to cc then transfering be a much better idea?
I am not a student at UH, but I'm looking for a job opportunity in tech. Is it mandatory to have an invitation or be a student? Does anyone check for an ID?
This was just dropped by SVP Diane Z. Chase.

Kids, please keep two forms of ID on you at all times. You won't think it's you, until it's you. Be safe out there, and go Coogs <3
If I made a fishing club would y’all join it?🫣
hi! i recently applied as a transfer student and i was wondering when housing applications will be opened. hopefully, if i get in, i was hoping that the applications for housing will still be open or that i still had a chance for housing. so has it opened yet? if not when will it open? thank you.

This policy only applies to staff employees and not to faculty or student workers.
So I want to go to UH, how do I like actually commit so I can say i’m enrolled on the honors college application and also start looking at housing and stuff. also probably important to note i’m accepted
I’m a current freshman- i submitted a special financial circumstances appeal in July and the school has YET to get back to me. My 2022 tax return that they asked for in the 23-24 school year was not accurate to my families financial situation starting Jan 2024 as my dad (the main breadwinner) was let go from his job, dropping HH income to $68k (my moms salary).
I feel like UH just doesnt want to pay out anything and its frustrating and i’m considering transferring to a school that will give me some extra support or even as much as full tuition wothout having to wait 8 months at this point
I’m fed up and dont know what to do
any info or help would be GREATLY appreciated

So i was in the university of Houston in student center south. Some lady came to me told me some particular order to place at my address and she paid for that order. And after order will deliver she told me to put 5 star review on Amazon. And for that she'll pay me $10 on Zelle. She said that she's helping to someone.
Is that happen to somebody on campus??. Because I'm feeling like i made mistake to do something like that. And what if it's scam ? Or in future if happens something with me? Should i worry about it??
Hi everyone,
I was granted unconditional admission to a Master’s program at UH despite the fact that one of my references hasn’t submitted his letter of recommendation; the program requires three letters, and only two have been sent to the university. Is this normal, and should I still wait for the third letter of recommendation before enrolling?
This is my third year at UH and it makes me really sad that I haven't made any friends. The only person to blame is myself, I don't really have any hobbies besides doomscrolling on social media. I wish I was into sports or other cool things but to other people I probably am the most boring person ever. Which I am fine with but I know I might seem like a loser for not going to parties or ever going out. Watching tiktoks and crying laughing at really stupid memes is the only thing I have going for me. And binge watching shows. I only have like a few friends from HS but I'm starting to think I'm not the type of person who was meant to have friends in the first place. I have tried apps like bumble and even reddit to meet people and have met up with them on campus but I haven't really connected with any of them. I have been in an org related to my major for almost 2 years. I have plenty of linkedin connections because of it but no actual friends. I know people say that u should also join fun clubs, not just ones for your major. But because I have no hobbies, no other org is appealing to me. I've scrolled through the getinvolved org list countless times just hoping I find some sort of new org that could be for me. I have also tried talking to ppl in class but when I try reaching out after the class ends I don't get a response. Am I just off putting? Too awkward? I guess we'll never know. I often wonder if I have autism or ocd, I've never been diagnosed. I usually love being by myself and I have learned to enjoy my own presence but there are times (like now) where I realize that I truly have no one. My parents are the only people who I feel like actually, genuinely care about me. Besides them, I'm all alone. The loneliness just gets to me sometimes.
Hi! :3 I’m hoping to transfer to UH for fall 2025 - I attended the Transfer Tuesday Tour on the 28th and filled out the form to get a application fee waiver so I can submit it. But, I haven’t gotten a code or anything in response??
I wanted to ask those of you who’ve gotten it recently or in the past, about how long does it take? Should I email someone?
I forgot my black earphones case on a couch in front of the Games Room, Student Center South. It held a lot emotional value also. Please please dm me if you have seen it. Please help me find it
I’m trying to move into a 1b loft for fall 25 but I have a small dog. I’ve read they allow emotional support animals, but do they really care ? if I were to bring her regardless what exactly would happen ?
It’s been down since the near the beginning of last semester and still works but it just needs the pad. Please I’m begging yall this is the smoothest leg curl I’ve ever used :(.
I just got home and realized I forgot my umbrella in one of the science and engineering classrooms. Does anyone know if there is a specific lost and found found it might end up at? I don’t go to campus till next Tuesday so I doubt it will be in the classroom till then. :,(
Flying dumpling was definitely sent from heaven because it’s the only place that’s affordable and good. I never have to take a dump like absurd dump or dump express. Pop some soju while enjoying this masterpiece since it’s definitely worth it. Every UH business and charterwell TAKE NOTES because yall suck.
I am currently a sophomore who took some classes at HCC in the fall semester but have returned to UH in the spring. I canceled my aid at HCC to get aid for UH. I thought it was settled but supposedly HCC gave me aid again that I was unaware and I need to cancel it before UH refunds my aid. However, I also got an email for loan exit counseling even though i have not graduated or dropped to part time. I currently take 5 classes making me a full time student and I do not graduate until 2027. Will talking to financial aid help sort this out?
Hi everyone, I’m really struggling to concentrate because my dog, my best friend, is critically ill—we’ve tried every test and treatment, but nothing helps, and I’ve exhausted all my savings, leaving me feeling completely helpless. It’s devastating to see him suffer after the joy he once had, and balancing this with school feels impossible. If anyone has advice, resources, or has been through something similar, I’d appreciate your support—thanks for listening.
