Hello there, I recently got admitted into the University of Houston and am currently weighing up my options and looking more into colleges. Student life is probably my most important thing when choosing a college. What is your favorite part about being a student at the university of houston?
Hi everyone!
I recently got admitted to the MS in Electrical Engineering program at the University of Houston, and I’m considering specializing in bio and neuroengineering. I’d love to connect with current students or alumni who have taken courses in this concentration.
Specifically, I’m interested in understanding:
- Recommended classes for someone with a foundational background in electronics and communication.
- How the bio and neuroengineering track aligns with career opportunities in fields like biomedical engineering and data science.
- Any resources or professors that could offer valuable insights for a new student in this track.
Thanks so much for any advice or guidance! Looking forward to joining the UH community. 😊
I can’t seem to find it in the class inf9
I am looking for someone involved in a social movement to interview. It is required for my Sociology of Culture Final Paper due December 8th. If anyone is in a movement listed here or related to the ones here, please tell me in the comments below and we can interview in the comments. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_social_movements
They got another one in the same parking lot. At least they were nice enough to balance it in a brick this time instead of a rock. In all seriousness why isn’t there security patrolling the parking lots overnight….
I understand y’all want to raise awareness, but blasting Footloose at 8:00 AM is not the way to do it. Unlike you, I won’t forget this.
Let’s preface by saying that in no means is what I’m proposing an accurate classroom behavior, but as an affected student, I’d like to give you my feedback.
There are some students who ask questions in class just for the sake of asking something, or showing to your professor that you understand. I think it’s better to bottle those urges during class and send it as a email later, or wait for your test to show that you’ve learned. Try to be smart, and not look smart.
Some admin type questions like: what can I expect in the next class, when will I learn the codes for this, when are you returning the exams, you haven’t graded the hw yet, blah blah. For these maybe again send an email and check syllabus. Trust me you are not impressing your professor and holding up class!
Ask questions that are relevant to the material the teacher is talking about and with the intention to clear your real confusion ABOUT THE MATERIAL. Not about its application in the real world.
Don’t ask to look smart. That is annoying and you are probably professors 500th batch, and they know exactly what you are trying to do.
Don’t try to outsmart the professor. We are not there yet! And read the room! Not every professor enjoys casual conversations. Please respect that and save us from the misery of having to watch you getting schooled.
Do I have to apply for the business school down the line or is it just coursework from here on out?
In desperate need of as many tickets is I can get for the ceremony on December 13th 9:00am at the Fertitta Center. (Seriously I’m desperate I’ll pay you)
Hey, I'm transferring to UH in fall 25 and want to get to know some people before I start school up. Do yall know of any events I could go to get to know some ppl?
How would you review the CS program of UH. I am planning for transfer from UCF, due to having relatives here etc etc. So is CS major at UH worth it. In terms of education quality, internship/job opportunities, networking opportunities, etc. I know CS is what you make it but still some personal reviews will be appreciated I’m a intl student from Pakistan btw, also I’ve heard there are many pakistani/indian students on campus while this is good but still is their enough diversity, as i love meeting new people from all over the world.
Has anyone heard any information about the ring ceremony yet? I know it is a month from now but I am not sure if I have missed anything about it or no information has been released
Hi everyone, does anyone here do African braids or know someone who does? Please send me a DM. Thank you!
Hello, I am an incoming Sophomore, and I want to live on campus, but does Cullen or Cambridge Housing count for financial aid coverage?
Hi!! If anyone has any extra grad tickets for the CLASS ceremony on December 13th, please let me know! (I’m also willing to pay!)
Top level threads asking about ENGL1100 eight times will be removed.
What are some good options to living off campus that aren’t too expensive?
I’m really just trying to find something that will get the job done at a low cost.
Thank you
I’m currently in the process of self reporting my grades and I was wondering if I have to report withdrawals. They don’t give the “W” option under grades like other colleges.
Hello I need an extra grad ticket for the commencement ceremony on December 13th at 9am at the fertitta center for the social science school. Literally just one!!! If anyone has one please help me out!
I am an international freshman applying for fall 2025. My priority deadline is November 8th. I sat down to pay my app fees today. Then, the transaction showed "unsuccessful," but the interesting part is I have already been charged $90 USD from my card. I even called the bank to verify. The app fee payment is still showing "pending". Did anybody face this issue before ? I am very worried as i will miss my deadline and i wont get a refund as well.
I really need scholarships. I submitted my application before November 1 (Scholarship Deadline), but I just submitted a rushed request to College Board to send my SAT score to UH a few minutes ago because life has been very chaotic lately. The deadline for supplemental information is today at 11:59. I’m worried that my score will not be sent in time. If college board doesn’t send my score by tonight (which I’m sure is not even possible), are my chances of getting a scholarship basically gone?
Do people ever get scholarships when they apply after the deadline?
Hey has anyone ever taken this course as a non major (beginning tap) if so how was your experience and what does the course look like throughout the semester ?
Hey everybody. I am currently writing a research paper for one of my writing courses. For the class I have to make a survey to go along with my paper. Its about substance abuse and how it relates to academic performance. Also mainly focused on college students, but high school students should work as well. If this is something that interests you and applies to you, I would appreciate your time in taking my survey. It should only take roughly 5-8 minutes of your time. If not, please disregard this post. Thank you! The survey will be linked here:
Has any spring transfer received their admission decision yet?
