Hey Guys! I recently applied to Rice as an incoming undergraduate student for Business, and I wanted to ask you guys how the consulting placement is. Is it all concentrated within Houston? Do people get into firms outside of Houston? Also I know rice isn't a specifically targeted consulting school, but I was thinking if I did business with a double major in engineering, I could position myself to succeed within the field.
Let me know your guy's thoughts!
Int asking for aid🙏🏻
Anyone who got into rice with a levels?? what were your grades please help
founder's lot, greenbriar, etc. -- looking to show my family around campus then take the rail to the rodeo, but they're coming during spring break; are the lots open (and at the normal rates?)
Hi everyone,
I’m currently working on my love letter for Rice and trying to show just how passionate I am about the school. I really want to highlight my interest in the business program and Rice’s unique opportunities, but I’m finding it hard to put my thoughts into words.
Here are some questions I’ve been brainstorming that I think could help guide my letter:
If anyone has advice on how to weave my interests and these questions into a compelling letter, I’d love to hear it. I want to show Rice how much I admire what they offer while making it clear how I’ll contribute to the community.
Thanks so much for your help!
Hi everyone,
I’m currently working on a love letter to Rice, but I’m struggling to effectively convey my continuous interest. As a business student, I really want to make sure my passion and dedication come through. Do you have any tips for showing consistent interest and enthusiasm? I’d really appreciate your advice! Thanks in advance!
Hi! I was admitted to Rice University for a master’s program, and I’m incredibly excited because this university has been my dream for many years. While I was waiting for results from other universities, I started researching more about student life at Rice. In the process, I came across discussions about how gender balance and an active LGBTQ+ community can impact the dating culture on campus. This got me thinking about what to expect from the student atmosphere.
I’m gay, and it’s important for me to be in an environment where I can be myself without fear of judgment. I’m a social person, but I’m more interested in serious relationships rather than casual hookups. Honestly, I’m a bit tired of the superficial dating culture that seems to have become the norm at universities. So, I’m curious: is Rice University a place where people seek genuine connections and respect personal boundaries, or will I encounter the same superficiality as elsewhere?
I know that every university has its own unique traits, but for me, the campus atmosphere plays a huge role. I hope that Rice will not only become my academic home but also a place where I can feel part of a real community.
Ugh… sometimes I just wish universities paid more attention to creating balance and a supportive environment.
If you lost your MetroCard near the village today, it is at the corner of McLendon and Morningside.
I submitted a forum of interest at the beginning of January, when should I be expecting to hear back, I kind of thought I would have already.
I'm trying to visit today but idk if winter break is still going and what the vibe is ? There's no student led today so any tips on what I should do are appreciated 🙏
I applied through Common app for an architecture major. I have to upload my portfolio through the student portal, and when I try to do so and hit the button "upload" it just keeps loading? When I refresh the page, it just comes back to how it was with "architecture portfolio" saying "awaiting". I've tried several times already, I dont know what to do. Pls help😭

So awhile back I was talking with a group of people in line at a job fair, and one of them brought up how they did research over the summer that paid 20$/hour at A&M (where we both go to). He told me that paid research wasn't competitve and that since I lived in Houston I should do research at Rice.
I have a few questions to ask. For background I'm a current sophomore undergrad Computer Science student at A&M. My only experience outside of class are projects both indivual and with a team, though I plan on doing research this (spring) semester. The reason why I'm interested in research is because its a Plan B just in case I don't get a summer internship.
I mean I passed but maybe its too low?
I've been looking for schools that provide a degree or path of some sort to learn how to create your own games for the PC market. I know Abilene provides one (Digital Entertainment) but while Google says Rice provides a degree in it too, I'm having difficulty finding it on the actual Rice website. I've called the Registrar office and still haven't heard back from them yet either.
I’m gonna be majoring in business finance and something in the humanities (English, plst, philosophy) and I have a laptop and an iPad 9th gen. First off is an iPad necessary? And second should I upgrade my iPad to a newer one? I’m considering getting the iPad Air bc mine is slow and is doesn’t have a lot of storage.
Can I survive with just an iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard as a business major? I would prefer this as it’s just so easy and portable. Or is a laptop necessary? I would prefer to have just one device so both isn’t an option.
guys, does rice offer css fee waiver or does it accept any other free forms than the CSS
Is it facing Forden or does it have its back towards Forden.
They're both meant for studying management, so what's the real difference? Especially in career and graduate school outcomes
I am confused by the language of the this. I realize GRE is not required but if I want to provide it, do I need to send official scores or can I submit official scores after I receive an offer?
If someone with experience can clarify this, I'd appreciate it a lot!
