After the latest MGGM swindle here is my expected outcome on June 27th
*Trade SJ 28th pick, Goodrow (to help Bedard 😉) and Ferraro to Chicago.
*Trade SJ 2nd 33rd pick, Rutta, Martin Jones’s Salary retention, and Dellandrea to Sabers
Rebuild over & The MGGM 30 for 30 wins an Oscar.
🫳🎤 🦈 🚨 🦈
Does this new 1st round effect the Nashville 1st conditional we've given up?
Could GMMG go after Mitch Marner this offseason? Also any way you think he tries to buy of Couture if he doesn’t start to skate by the end of the season?
I just bought some tickets for an upcoming game on StubHub. After purchase it said that I won't get transferred the tickets until the day of the event. This has me worried. Anyone who's used StubHub, what has your experience been?
With next year's cap projected to be $95.5M, that means the cap floor will be $70.5M,
The Sharks only have $53M of salary on the books for next year. If you factor in roughly $5-6 million/year to Zetterlund and regular qualifying offers for the rest of the RFA class (Kostin, Kovalenko, Thompson), that will still leave nearly $10M that will need to go out just to hit the cap floor.
With the rising cap, it's going to be more difficult to find trade partners looking to send out assets to dump contracts, so I feel the Sharks are going to have to be active in finding legitimate top-6 veteran forwards (ala Toffoli/Granlund) or Top-4 D just to remain in cap compliance.
It's also REALLY early in the rebuild, but going after one or two of the top-20 or so UFAs this offseason would still leave the Sharks well-situated to continue building for the future with their cap situation and would allow the team to make a major step forward next season.
Hey SJS fans! I'm from Detroit and I have been a fan is SJS for a long time. Looking to get a Joe Thornton black jersey but fanatics does not sell them anymore. I found the site listed in the title but it seems too good to be true. Has anyone shopped at sharksgearshop.com before? If so are they legit? TIA
with another 1st in the bank do we make a push for Nemec at this point? i don’t see us using that pick in the draft realistically
thoughts?
So I was looking over the Granny and Ceci trade and I noticed something funny. If Dallas doesn’t make the SCF, we get a 4th round pick from then. Which is Winnipeg’s, which we gave them for Ty Dellandrea. And I decided to do some tracing to see how far back this whole thing goes, when it comes to deals Grier has made. So I will not be taking into account any trades DW made.
Starting with Granlund, we got a first round for him.
We originally got Granlund from Pittsburgh in the EK65 trade.
In that trade we sent
Ek65, Dillon Hamaliuk, and a 2026 3rd round pick and got
Mikael Granlund, Mike Hoffman, Jan Rutta, and a 2024 1st Round pick
The 2024 1st rounder was bundled with New Jersey’s 2024 2nd round pick, (which we got in the Timo Meir trade which adds another like entire LAYER of trades and lines that will make me go insane if I try to follow those lines. The most important thing being the 2nd rounder), and traded up to Buffalo for the 11th overall pick to Select Sam Dickinson.
Moving on to Ceci, we got a conditional 3rd round. If Dallas doesn’t make it to the SCF, it becomes the 4th round pick from Winnipeg we gave them for Ty Dellandrea.
We originally got Ceci (and a 3rd round pick) by trading Ty Emberson to Edmonton. Emberson we originally got off of Waivers.
If we trace the Winnipeg pick back, we got that pick from Winnipeg for Vladislav Namestnikov.
We got Namestnikov in a trade with Tampa in exchange for Michael Eyssimont, who we picked up off of Waivers.
So, if we follow the line and assume Dallas doesn’t make it to the SCF, Grier was able to turn
EK65, Dillon Hamaliuk, a 2026 3rd rounder, 2 Waiver claims (Emberson and Eyssimont) and the absolutely Bonkers Timo Meier trade
Into
Ty Dellandrea, Jan Rutta, Sam Dickinson, Fabian Zetterlund, 2025 1st round, 2025 4th round.
Is someone able to make a complete visual aid for this trade tree and help me fill out anything I missed? Because holy hell this one has layers and it hurts my head.
Who should we call up for granny and ceci?
We don’t really have another right side defensemen to call up but Mukhamadullin who had 3 assists in the cuda win last night or one of the older guys like Lucas Carlsson or Jimmy Schuldt ?
For grandlund I’m assuming wennburg moves up to play with smith and zetterlundand we call up Graf again or have a last chance for someone like Bordeleau or Tristian robins ?
Edit : follow up question who would u want us to take with the stars pick now that we will have 2 picks in the 25-34 range (Stars 1st , our 2nd)
Who are we calling up? Shakir? Carlsson? Bystedt? Bordeleau?
If you're local to San Jose, you really oughta check out a Barracuda game. Tickets are cheap, the arena is nice, and you can fist bump future Sharks on their way to the ice. But most importantly, you're way more likely to see a win!
Seriously though, you can get in the door for as little as $13 for some games if you buy tickets at SAP or Tech CU box office ahead of game day, and just like Sharks games, you can bring your own food and (non alcoholic) drinks inside. It's totally possible to have a really fun and cheap night of hockey down at Tech CU Arena.
Today marks 1 full year since Couture played a game. The team is missing that crucial puzzle piece to get us to where we need to be. The team bouncing from alternate captains isn’t the security we need.
Obviously, not having a captain isn’t our only issue as a team lol. But having a steady captain being a captain, would benefit the team just a little bit.
Couture is never going to play hockey again, he needs to just be let go…
Anyone else enjoying watching the Canucks fans suffer a bit over the JT Miller - Petey situation after they kept jabbing us with “Macklin is a Canuck in 3 years” comments?
