What are the thoughts on Thomas Bordeleau? He's not putting up huge numbers in the AHL this year despite a much better team, and the NHL roster is full.
Will the Sharks trade him, or trade someone else and promote him?
This thread is for folks to try and sell or buy tickets or merch that others post within. Have some swag to sell? Tickets? Jerseys? Autographs? Pucks? This is the place to do it! I would hope that everyone that takes part will be honest about what they are selling and/or buying. Please keep in mind that this is AT YOUR OWN RISK and /r/sanjosesharks and /u/ibcfreak take no responsibility for sales or purchases made within this thread.
During the regular season and playoffs ALL for sale or looking to buy threads will be removed from the front page and you will be redirected to this weekly thread if you are looking to move some merch.
This will be a weekly thread so check back in next week to see if anything interests you!
Capitals is #1, and Lighning is #4 in the Atlantic division. Panthers is #1, and Canes are #3 in the Metropolitan divison. All games on the road. Will be very impressed if the guys get points on the first leg of this trip.
With the Giants in limbo, and the Warriors and Niners in free fall, the Sharks are in a good position to draw non-hockey fans to watch their games. They're a team on the rise with exciting young players. While they may not win much, they're in games and have a no quit attitude.
Now if only the Bay Area sports media can cover them fairly like they do those 3 teams, but I'm not holding my breath.
We are really feeling the void left by the departure of Brodie Brazil, but he’s not the only one. I can’t help but think that NBCSN had to dump a lot of good broadcast technicians, when the A’s decided to leave Oakland. The guys who would work AV baseball in the summer and hockey in the winter..
audio-visual switching mistakes: Occurrences of unmuted mics, random video switching, haphazard interview silences, and inaccurate and/or downright baffling graphic displays on a live regional television broadcast, are an example of a team wide “excellence” issue. Though mishaps shouldn’t happen in a professional broadcast, there seems to be a degradation of talent when it comes to people manning the boards. Like any business, these could be great people in training, making simple mistakes, the same that we all make in each of our jobs. But they need to do better and BE on point, or GET there fast.
Verbal pacing and dialogue filler words: Another issue I’ve noticed in the broadcast, is the use of filler and/or gap words that do nothing but fill time with meaningless nonsense. The amount of times, I’ve heard “ powerPlay… I mean, penalty kill“ and “UH“ or “UM“ has been an issue for me as a viewer, and it’s coming from the anchors, not the players…. It lacks the flow that professionals like Randy Drew, and Dan have. I hope as the sharks get better, so does the pregame/post game broadcast because there will definitely be more eyeballs as the sharks grow, and the Warriors/Niners exit their respective championship windows.
TLDR; the broadcast needs to improve.
Any suggestion on how to fix this. Just bought this last week :(
The rookie of the month is pretty good, lol. I break down all of Celebrini’s goals so far this year.
Can’t take credit for the name (I think it came from Teal Town USA awhile ago?) just wanted to shout out Kostin in an appreciate post.
Since he’s come back into the line up, he’s looked A LOT better and has played some incredibly smart hockey (his “pick” on the Smith goal was almost as beautiful as Granlund’s sauce). He looks more like the guy we say when we traded Simek for him.
I was a HUGE advocate for him being on the top line with Celebrini and Toffoli when the season started, but his poor play got him benched (rightfully so). The way he’s playing is EXACTLY what we need so we can stop putting Goodrow in the top 9. I wanted the Kostin-Granlund-Smith line to be the 2nd line tonight. Hopefully they are next game and Kunin-Wennberg-Toffoli get bumped down to 3rd.
It’ll suck when Goodrow is healthy and Cards is sent back down.
