Which chain do y’all prefer when it comes to burgers? Why do you prefer the one you chose and what is your regular order from your favorite?
MY OPINION:
As someone who has been to both of them multiple times, both in childhood and now adulthood, while predominantly growing up on Whataburger, I’d say that the chain is currently hit-or-miss. It frankly depends on which location you go to and what time you arrive, among other factors. Some are really good regardless and do really well, but others…not so much. I’ve had good burgers from usually bad locations and I’ve had absolutely terrible burgers from locations I normally have no issues with. I will say in recent years, they’re unfortunately becoming less and less willing to allow special requests to remove unwanted ingredients/toppings on certain burgers. (Patty Melt with no onions, I’m looking at you.)
In-N-Out on the other hand, has always been both consistent and reliable as far as taste, speed of service and order accuracy, as well as the quality of the people they employ and the standards they have.
Ironically I actually almost worked for them back in late 2023 / early 2024 but got another job that I liked more for higher pay and much less stress.
Hi all! A bit desperate here, the fire alarms in my apt keep going off and I’ve tried contacting the maintenance but it’s no use, there’s no answer. There is no fire and it just keeps turning on at random times repeatedly for only like 1-3 beeps. Anyone have any idea of what we can do to get this resolved?? TIA!!

I received this text from the League of Women Voters of Houston and wanted to share in case anyone needs a ride to the polls on Tuesday: Need a ride to vote? Use code LWV2024 for a free ride from Lyft and the League of Women Voters.
The League is non partisan but I am not. Vote blue down ballot and vote no on props A&B!
I had a tree fall during Hurricane Beryl and it broke a pipe from the meter to my house. I've been in contact with Municipal District Services for 4 months and I keep getting told "we will bring this before the board." Then repeat that every month when I get my water bill. Well, they finally decided to shut off my water even though they keep telling me "you are in special circumstances so your water won't be shut off." I have called them multiple times this week and emailed them. I don't know what else I can do but pay a $750 water bill all because the hurricane happened to break a pipe. Any suggestions on what I can do or who I can call besides paying $750 for this?
We have just sold a house back in April 2024. Until now, the buyer has not contacted HCAD or filed change name of ownership. I contacted HCAD and was told that it is buyer's responsibility to submit the ownership change request form. We have contacted the title company several times so that they could reach out to the buyer to remind them to file for name change on HCAD.
This is almost the end of the year, and the tax office will start sending out bills for property tax. So, we probably should expect that we will receive the bill of the property we just sold back in April.
I'm just wondering what can happen next since the buyer does not initiate the change of ownership name? Also, why he's doing this? What benefit he can get by doing so? I just don't understand.

Im a volunteer there, and it's been pretty empty consistently this entire election. The polls are open until 7pm and today is the last day of early voting. If you wanted to vote, now is a perfect time! Just take the back way instead of coming onto Town Park drive from Beltway 8, we're right across the street from Collins Elementary School.
Just stopping for a few hours to change flights. Wanted to find out if the construction is still ongoing I read about? Also for anyone who frequently flies through there where would you recommend I can purchase good reasonably priced food?
Hey everyone! I hope someone can help as Google has been absolutely useless. Southern side of Houston/Galveston area here looking for recommendations.
My nephew is OBSESSED with armadillos, but we've instilled in him that a- we leave wildlife alone and b- armadillos and other animals often carry diseases.
That said, I think it would be super cool if we could find a petting zoo or something similar that will let him get up-close and personal and maybe teach him a bit more about them. I know there are some places in San Antonio, but I was wondering if there was somewhere closer? If anyone has any suggestions I'd be immensely grateful!
Edit: thanks everyone! I've got a couple wildlife centers that I'm gonna reach out to to see if they do educational presentations. He will be perfectly happy to see them up close and not touch them, and that's fine by me 😁
Hi all, I'm visiting Houston for the first time in December from the UK and was hoping someone could help me out please, first off all I'm looking at staying at 'Downtowner Inns - Houston Downtown & Convention Center' mainly because it's cheap. Has one stayed her before and can tell me what it's like?
Secondly I'm looking for some good country bars to go to, is there any? and where abouts are they?
And finally is there anyway to get to the space station with out getting a taxi or driving?
Thanks in advance
Edit - Thanks for all the comments so far, I’ve decided I won’t be staying at the downtowner inns, so any recommendations would be appreciated thanks
Hey guys!
Just moved to Houston this week and hoping to find a consistent hitting group/partner. I'm about a 4.0 player and I'll be living in the Montrose area, but willing to drive a bit!
If anyone could point out some free courts or another place to find some players, do let me know!
Hi,
I am starting a new business and have just signed a lease to open a retail store (first time). The space is a shell, so I need to find an architect or contractor who can help with the plans and permits. Does anyone have a solid recommendation?
Thanks,
Looks like a little Christmas themed plaza. Construction is taking place on the lot where sears used to be.
Curious to see if anyone has any details.
So I moved to Houston not so long ago so I’m not sure how the weather gets here towards winter, but I just got a message from 2 of my friends that they can’t come to this event we wanted to go since they feel really ill. This happened to me as well and I’m not sure of the cause. Is anyone else feeling sick?
I'm going to my first game tomorrow and wondering about best places to park. I found a 2023 map but don't know if the same is true for '24, or if there are secret places for good value. Thanks!
Anybody else keeps getting interviews for "Marketing consultant" and they turn out to be MLMs wanting you to do door to door sales? What is up with all these pyramid schemes. Not to mention the office seemed official being that it's downtown on a high floor level. However once they mentioned AT&T I knew it was a red flag and they want you to be inside of Walmart at a table trying to sell plans. Such a shame.
Does anyone have any recommendations for home designers or architects? Need someone to help us with a remodel - with 2D/3D cad drawings and material selection.
I would like to take my niece out to do something fun with her this weekend, but I just moved here and don’t know where to start 😂.
She doesn’t care to spend a LOT of physical energy so sports won’t do, but I’m sure she’d do something light. She’s also a picky eater.
She does like anime and drawing. And she likes music too, but I’m still getting a sense of what kind.
My budget is $100, but I’d really prefer to spend less if possible.
Any suggestions? Thank you in advance 🦋✨.
I am visiting Houston for two days with a friend from the Middle East and want to take them to do classic American stuff.
So far I’m thinking Cracker Barrel Topgolf Shooting range (if I can find one where you don’t have to bring your own guns?) Football game (any high school games happening tomorrow night??) Galleria mall Pumpkin Patch
But idk what else. I’m not native to Houston so I don’t know the best spots. Also neither of us drink.
Shoot me your best American recommendations! Thanks!
Happy Halloween from The H Club!
We normally post the full list here but we are out of town without a laptop and the formatting isn’t working out. ☹️
So find the list at the link and we’ll be back to regularly scheduled programming next week: https://thehclub.beehiiv.com/p/grunge-jazz-funk
Thanks for reading!
I am traveling west on Highway 10 and there are these three super bright lights in the sky just sort of hovering. At first I thought they were planes but planes don’t have indicator lights constantly on or that bright, they’re not moving very fast at all, they’re just kind of hovering there. Is there some sort of drone show going on?
HPD at Terminal E is the shit today. They’ve been loading passenger bags into cars all afternoon.
