Am a student, will use tablet for school. The note taking and note editing is the most important. Tablet needs to:
Have a good stylus experience, (pure note taking and note editing, very minimul art)
Be able to multitask well with split screen.
Be powerful enough to run apps like Obsidian, chrome/yt/OpenLMS, and a video call at the same time without lagging or freezing excessively.
Be able to run Microsoft office apps well.
Have good options for VERY rugged cases (am a klutz and will be travelling with it extensively)
Have good options for repairability in the US.
Needs to last me the next 3 to 4 years will run Lineage OS after that.
Good battery, I would like to only charge it once a day.
Things I would like but not necessary.
Ability to connect to an external monitor and extend the display.
Play old wii emulators with my brother on two controllers.
Any deals or discounts apply.
Will be bought on Amazon or any official store in the US.
Am considering:
Samsung S9 +
Oneplus Pad 2
Xiaomi Pad pro 6
Redmagic Pad
Any Apple Ipad within the budget.
Deals and student discounts should bring them down to below 500 USD
I would like a keyboard with it, but not necessary.
Stylus is absolutely necessary.
Will buy an aftermarket rugged case.
Any other tablets to consider and why?
Hi all. What pen would you recommend me for my tablet Huawei M5 lite? Thanks :)

Hi r/pickAndroidforme!
I currently have a Xiaomi 12 Pro, and I'm considering an upgrade. I'm debating between getting the OnePlus 12 and the OnePlus Tab 2 or going with the Samsung Galaxy S24 (base model) and the Galaxy Tab S9.
Here's what I'm looking for in my next setup:
Performance: I'm after something that's smooth and powerful for multitasking and gaming.
Battery Life: Important, as I spend a lot of time on my devices throughout the day.
Software Experience: I want a reliable OS with good update support and clean UI.
Ecosystem: How well the phone and tablet work together (screen mirroring, file transfer, etc.).
Would love to hear any feedback on which combo might be a better choice in terms of performance, battery life, and ecosystem integration.
Thanks in advance!
Hello everyone im thinking about buying a tablet for drawing and for other things which one should i get because i have no idea what im doing also what pencil should i get i really want something high quality and my budget is 330 dollars, thanks :)
Hello everyone,
I'm thinking about buying a tablet for university (to take notes and stuff on, the expected stuff), and I was looking at the lenovo tablets since I haven't seen them in a while and they seem to be better (price wise, trying to keep costs down if possible) for what I'm going for. I want to buy from a local store instead of ordering online so some other brands aren't available.
I saw the lenovo tab m11 8GB RAM 128GB storage model that I think comes with a stylus for about 450AUD (roughly 300USD) and wanted to know if it was any good and would meet my use case since I haven't seen much about it at all.
Thanks!
My daughter is 12 and loves all things art. She has an iPhone and uses an app to draw with her finger on her little phone and she loves it, she's super good at it, especially considering the limitations. I thought that I'd like to get her a tablet for drawing for Christmas.
I found the Huion Kamvas 13, but I'm not exactly sure what these are or how they work. I think it needs to hook up to a phone or computer? She's got an iPhone, so I didn't know if she needs an iPad? I'm also wondering if it makes more sense to get a tablet that can be used for more than just drawing (basically Roblox), but wasn't sure if there was one that was good for both. I understand it'd be a little more expensive to have a multifunctional tablet but I'm okay with that if she can use it for more things.
Biggest priority is that she can sit and use this for drawing without it needing to be hooked up to a bunch of stuff. Thanks!
Hey! I'm reviewing 7 different tablets for a YouTube video and I wanna know what are the mayor points you look for in a tablet in your own personal usage. As an extra, you can tell me your favorite features in your own tablet. The tablets I'm reviewing are, Apple, Google, Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, Honor and OnePlus. Thanks in advance!
Hi mates. I am getting marker position in an educational institute where we must online marking exams and assignments of big numbers of scripts (let's talk about 500 students per task). I need a tablet which is adorable and also not expensive for this mission. Any good suggestions please.
Hi everyone, wanted to buy a new tablet, in my searching i found this particular model. Has someone bought it? What do you think about it? Couldn't find any detailed review online excluding the amazon ones, that's because it got out pretty recently, I think in September 2024. If you don't know it, have you ever bought something from Doogee? What do you think about the brand? Are their products durable? Hi,
I want to buy a tablet just for normal use. Read stuff on internet and threads and perhaps download some books and read them. I don't need an expensive advanced tablet. Is Samsung S9 FE 128 GB a good tablet for this purpose? I have seen it from to time is discounted on Samsung Canada website for 399$.
I bought a Lenovo Xiaoxin tablet for my daughter however after 6 months of use she dropped it and broke the screen... I ordered a new screen from aliexpress, same size, same fit, same connection, comparing the screen codes they are only different in the last 6 digits... I tried to install the new screen on the tablet but I couldn't it doesn't show an image... I went to a specialised store looking for help but they told me that the new screen, despite being the same size and the same brand the fact that it does not have exactly the same product code makes it not compatible and doesn't show an image... is this story true? or are they llying because they want me to buy the new screen from them. I asked them for a quote, (how much will cost me to put a screen) and they said I that the screen has a cost of €100 including labor. I thought that the price was exaggerated because the tablet cost me €143, I thanked them but refused the service. My question is... the conversation is really true? or was it just bad will on the part of the store technician because I don't bought the new screen on the store...
hi guys, i have deleted boot.img on my device on accident and know i cant find the default one. The device is Lenovo Tab M10 (TB-X605E, TB-X605L). Does anybody know where i can get the boot.img file?
Any tips
Hey peeps, does anyone have experience with both? I primarily play CodM. Thank you!
Hi, I have had a Mi Pad 5, for about a year now.
I had been using the Premium version Adobe Acrobat format /Creating/editing PDF & Anotating/Adding/commenting notes. But it crashes a lot, & the document (which is Work in Process) gets corrupted and changes are lost I am looking for two things:
Hello! I'm looking for a small tablet, similar size to an iPad mini or something it doesn't matter much. But I am looking for something that I can take some notes of for school as well as a screen for Netflix and such on at night. I would prefer something cheaper within 500$. I know this seems unrealistic but I am just looking around :) Thank you!
I'm struggling between choosing which tablet to purchase for a few days now. I'm an engineering student and I want to have an extension device besides my laptop where I can continue doing my academic stuffs like reading, writing, solving problems, and more. My options are Huawei Matepad 11.5s, Samsung s9 series, and the Xiaomi pad 6s pro. Which do you guys think would be best suited for me ? I'd appreciate it if you'd recommend ones I haven't listed. Thanksss
Hi everyone, hope you're all doing great.
I would appreciate some advice. I'm stuck between the decision of buying three different tablets.
The Galaxy Tab S8+, S9 FE or S9. My options are mainly Samsung because I'm already somewhat deep in the Samsung ecosystem (I have an S23 Ultra, Watch 5, and Buds FE).
I'm mainly looking for a secondary device, mainly for content consumption (Disney+, Netflix, Youtube, etc.) (I'm not too fond of TVs very much, I'm not that into them). Also, I want something that I could take with me in case I need to do some light things on the run (book reading, some Office docs, light gaming like old console emulators). At work, I have a laptop, so I can mostly use it If I really need a Windows device on the run.
I found these deals:
Tab S9 FE 128GB Wifi for $300 (New)
Tab S9 256GB WiFI for $500 (open box)
Tab S9 128GB Wifi for $465 (open box)
Tab S8+ 128GB Wifi for $435 (open box)
Tab S8+ 256GB Wifi for $482 (open box)
Advice Request #1: Do you guys think that for the price I should go for the S9 FE, or the LCD Screen and Inferior SOC (Exynos 1380) could be a negative experience?. Down to price, the best choice would be the S9 FE.
Advice Request #2: Do you think that the little extra power of the S9 and better longevity (one more major Android update) is worth the slightly higher price and the loss of 1.4 inches of real estate compared to the S8+?
Thanks!
I'm sick of writing everything down on paper so I'm thinking about getting a tablet. I would use it for Netflix from time to time but other than that I would only need it to write PDF files and notes
Inwas thinking about getting the P12 Any help is appreciated
I'm picking up the iPad Air and am trying to decide between the 11 and 13 inch version. I mainly would be using it for reading, movies, some games, and possibly some note taking. I don't travel a lot but maybe once or twice a year. Does anyone have either that could share their experience with their device. Which size would you recommend going with? Also for those of you with 128gb for storage, is that enough storage?
I couldn't find it specified in the owner manual. The one I purchased doesn't fit (it was a KOOTION 128 GB Micro SDXC UHS-I U3 V30 A1 High Speed TF). Also is there a memory card tray that ejects using a key or no?
Hi. I don't play on a tablet (mostly consume media) and all I want from it is fast overall system performance and the best screen for my money. I'm a big fan of OLED and ideally would like an OLED tablet as well, but not necessarily, as a cheap OLED matrix can look worse than an expensive and high quality IPS (except for black of course).
My current tablet has been an iPad 2020 for 4 years now and I don't really care about the system in general, I'm not an iOS fan and I'm not an Android fan, back then I chose the iPad just because I heard that they live a long time (due to their SSD), but how disappointed I was when this spring with the next update my iPad became 2 times slower and I couldn't do anything about it, so I'm a bit skeptical of Apple tech now, but maybe I'm just unlucky and it's some kind of bug.
My current options, but you can advise your own as well:
iPad Air 2024 - $600 (I like it, but the thick bezels and 60Hz is sad in 2024, Apple, but since I don't play 60Hz it's.... probably okay haha).
OnePlus Pad 2 - 500$ I like its design and the performance margin without gaming is cosmic, but I've heard complaints that the screen is far from the best and still not sure how durable the UFS memory of Android devices is, although if Apple itself slows down its devices apparently there's no difference haha.
Microsoft Surface Pro X - 600$ and Microsoft Surface Pro 8 on i5 - 550$ are interesting options in their own right because sometimes they can work as a laptop that I need probably once a year haha but still.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 AMOLED - 570$ heard a lot of good things about its screen and I think it's the golden middle of my list.
Lenovo Tab P11 PRO 2nd OLED 400$ and Lenovo Tab P12 Pro OLED 550$ very controversial tablets about P12 I know a lot about but P11 has been the topic of many debates, someone claims that for 400$ it's the best screen and even better than Ipad PRO and someone says it's the worst screen haha.
iPad 2025 ~500$ I heard in the first half of 2025 they want to release a new classic iPad and it may even have an OLED screen, but I don't believe it much, and all their releases seem to be usually in the fall.
I could also go crazy and add 350$ to get this year's iPad PRO and maybe it would be worth it if it lasts me at least 6-7 years, but I'm afraid of these slowdowns, maybe I should just turn off updates altogether haha.
I have an iPad mini 6 and it’s “fine”, but I’m getting into photography along with other stuff, and I want into gaming and emulation. However, no one talks about doing the basic stuff on the Nova.
Hey Guys,
I'm struggling to figure out what tablet to pick up for a few holidays I've got planned. Something with a ~8 Hour battery life for movies (MicroSD Expandibility is a plus), something that can do work in Lightroom (With with RAW Images, ~60mb a file) and some light gaming (Maaaybe some PS1 Era emulation?). I was liking the idea of an iPad 10th gen but unsure if it'll do Lightroom. On the Android side of things, I was looking at maybe the OnePlus Pad 2 but the last time I used an Android tablet (Admittedly - we are talking a Samsung Tab S6) it was a pretty lack-lustre laggy affair.
Trying to keep the budget below $1000 (Australian) with a Keyboard style case.
Do I bite the bullet and go team Apple or do I give Android another chance?
I spend a lot of time annotating with pdf docs comments/highlights for work. Looking for a tablet that will let me do this so I'm not chained to my desk. Preferably something that uses adobe. Budgets is no more than $500.
I want to get the s9 FE+ because of the large screen and the pen feel (for digital art) but heard I'm not sure about the performance because I want the tablet to last for years without lagging plus its expensive. The Xiaomi pad 6 on the other hand is cheaper and good refresh rate but I'm not sure about the pen performance. What should I get?
I am looking for a tablet that will mostly be used for streaming movies and occasionally doing some zoom calls and basic things. I don't really need a lot of bells and whistles, I won't use it for much more than that. I don't like buying electronics, I keep my phones for years until they stop working and my laptop is well over 10 years old, maybe closer to 15 and ready to be retired. Please let me know what's best for me so that I don't have to do any research 🙃, thank you!
Hello,
I'm from the UK and I'm looking to upgrade from my amazon fire kindle that I'd had for 6+ years and is extremely outdated
I did some subtle research, and I saw these two tablets that align with my budget
Xiaomi Pad 6 - 8GB RAM/256 GB Storage £300
Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ - 8GB RAM/128GB Storage £181
I will be using the tablet for pretty much reading comics/manga, watching YouTube/Netflix, very light gaming and some university work since I'm a student (But I primarily use my PC and laptop for that). I don't plan to use the notes app so I don't really care about pens
I've also considered the S9 FE/+ but I still heard the Xiaomi Pad 6 was superior in specs, only downside I heard from the Xiaomi Pad 6 was the UI, no headphone jack (I use air pods anyway via Bluetooth), and no expandable storage. But I don't believe that, for my tasks, I'll ever exceed 256GB.
Please let me know what you guys think, also if you'd like to recommend a better tablet let me know.
