I have an Asus tf101 that doesn't boot unless I use Volume down + power then click android. It also won't start recovery, I tried adb reboot commands and they all get stuck on the asus screen. It is running Cyanogen mod 10. Can anybody help with this?
So I recently found my really old Asus Transformer Book and when I charged it I got really surprised it actually turned on! So after charging, I wanted to set it up, worked really easy. I had WiFi, everything was working. And then I did a reset because it was full off apps and unnecesaary data. Again, set everything up, worked perfectly. The next day I woke up wanted to use it and suddenly I have no internet connection, when I checked, it said: ,,Saved, Secured with WPA2.'' And when I clicked connect, it connected for a split second and disconnected again. Sometimes it also says "out of range" and when I retry it repeats again. Is it just time to get a new one or is there a way to fix this?
(If the fix has to do with any hardware replace I probably won't do it because I have no idea what I am doing.)
Hi, I have recently found the dock to my OG TF101 and I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to use it with a PC. I don't mind opening it up, but I was curious if you have a tutorial or something
Howdy,
I have an old TF101 that has the 4.x version of Katkiss installed. However, something is wonky and it just reboots all the time. I wanted to see if I could use this tablet by my treadmill so I can watch a show while walking/running but have to get it fixed up again.
I haven't flashed a custom Rom onto a device in many years and don't remember how it all works. Can anyone provide me the steps to go through and help me figure out how I can get the newest version of Katkiss onto my device?
I looked at the XDA links on the Katkiss site but many of the links don't work any more since they're obviously from many years ago.
Thanks!
Hi guys,
I own an Asus Transformerbook T100TAF with an Intel Atom Z3537F, 1GB of RAM. Does anybody here have good suggestions about a lightweight, touch optimized OS I could install on this thing? (Aimed toward convertibles). I formerly installed Cloudready, but their support for 32-bit systems ended, sadly. I now run Lineage OS X86, but I think it struggles and freezes because of the low RAM amount that it can use.
Any suggestion is greatly appreciated!
I have 2x Asus Transformer that need to install new apps btu none will take because the android version seems too old.
I like to solve it with rooting so i can install new android OS so i can install newer apps
Looking for a ROOTing procedure or solution to install new apps.
Thanks in advance
I transferred some files from OS(C:) to get more RAM space (I do not remember which specifically, but they were transferable to my Desktop). When I restarted my ASUS Transformer Book T100, 1) the font of the log-in page changed and was smaller, 2) it took a longer time to load the desktop once I entered my password, and 3) the desktop was completely black, except for the cursor. No icons were appearing and I couldn't do anything except wait. For a long time I did but it didn't seem to be doing anything. I shut it down afterwards.
TL;DR : Should I hard reset? I don't want to because I have important files in there but if I will if I have to. I hope there's another option that doesn't include a memory swipe.
I just recently found my charger and i have 2x TF101 that works but cant get many APPS and like to see if i can use it as a Security cam viewer and display as a pictures loop for desktop. Maybe as a weather app as well
Thanks in advance
Im trying to install Marshmallow on my aging tf101 to make it usable but when Im in the recovery and only one step close to finally finishing it, the sdcard cant mount. Im not even using an sdcard, how to fix this?
Basically, I can't find the transformer pro anywhere but the official asus site, and even there, no price is shown and you seemingly can't buy it. I tried changing the region to my nation italy), but the website tells me to check listings on asusworld.it, and I can't find it even there. What can I do? Is there any way I can contact asus to ask where I can find this product? thanks :)
TL;DR: I would like to know the transformer pro price and maybe buy it, but it seems like it doesn't exist
How do I enable the headset microphone plugged in the combo jack (and disable the internal microphone)?
Other laptops use HD Audio Manager to tell the laptop what's plugged in the 3.5mm, but that's not installed. (And the audio device appears to be Intel SST and not Realtek)
This happened a few days ago. I tried starting it up and nothing. Held in the power button plus volume button, nothing. Finally just held the power button and after 30+ seconds I got the Asus boot logo. As soon as I let go of the power button it shuts off.
I got around the boot issue with a large rubber band and a rolled up piece of business card to hold the button in, but the rubber band occasionally slips off the button shutting it down. I also noticed that the keyboard stopped being recognized, so when it goes to sleep, I can't wake it up and need to force shut-down and restart.
Any thoughts? Could reinstalling Windows 10 (again) fix this? I just reinstalled Win 10 a few months ago which speeded things up a bit. The battery still holds a charge, albeit it's not great.
Thanks in advance.
My 3 yo T102HA has 2 broken ports. Unfortunately, one is the charging port. Local places are quoting almost half what I paid for it to fix. I just want to purchase something else that uses a detachable keyboard. Anyone know if the keyboard from this will work with another brand 2-in-1?
Follow up post to my last post -- the TF101 charged to full, battery seems to be alive, and it seems to be in working order. I'd like to root the tablet and get a faster/lighter weight OS on it (or at least update android). Is there a good guide to doing so? I guess, as a followup, is it worth rooting it? I'm assuming I can squeeze more performance out of it if I do. I'm also having trouble getting my PC to see it, gone through all the motions and it just doesnt get recognized (at all). Might be the shitty ass cable I bought for charging, but not sure how to test.
EDIT: On further inspection, seems like the cable doesn't work for data transfer, only charging (pissed off, but there's nothing to be done about it). Is it possible to root the tablet using bluetooth file transfer, or something similar?
I have an old ASUS TF101 that has't been booted up or used in years (probably 5 or 6 years). My question is this: how does the tablet hold up in the present day? Is it worth getting it running to use as an ereader, for simple tablet gaming, web browsing, etc.? I remember it running quite well at the time, but I don't know if the computing power has held up. Additionally, is there anything I should/can do to make it run optimally in the present day?
I just bought a used TF700t for very cheap. I intend to use it primarily as a media player and some web browsing. I knew it would be slow being 7 years old, but I didn't think it would be this slow even after factory reset. Anyone have a TF700t that they've made faster? Any suggestions on which ROM to root?
I was thinking of dual booting Ubuntu using a microsd card and was wondering how well that would work on this device.
Which one of the above would you buy?
T100TA: 114$ (used)
T102HA: 130$ (used)
My understanding is that T102HA is superior in hardware because obviously 4G ram is more than 2G and 128Gb SSD is more than 64G. I don't understand the difference between the CPUs of those, I read somewhere that T100TA...'s is better in speed. Also, I have read plenty of positive reviews for T100TA but only some negatives for the T102HA telling that it is "laggy".
Is T102HA really superior as the specs tell, even in practice? Any constructive comments are welcome.
Hello, So I bought a cheap used T102HA online here in Japan and it works just fine. The pen isn't working but I think its battery is just dead. See, the previous owner said he used it only a few times then left it in his closet for 2 years.
As some of you may know mold is a big problem here in Japan. The long moist summers are hell on closets and anything stored in them.
So yeah, the box the tablet came in smelled of mold. Even the charging cable smells a little musty. But the worst is the keyboard. The soft material on the back was the worst but I managed to get it mostly scent free using isopropyl. But the actual keys on the keyboard still stink! I can't take the keyboard apart to clean it so I was hoping somebody here would have some ideas.
I have sprayed and wiped the keys many times but I am thinking there is an amount of mold build-up behind or underneath the keys.
Like the title said, I need help with my Asus transformer book t300 chi.
My touchscreen has broken and my bluetooth is turned off so I am stuck in the welcome screen.
Pls tell me if you have any ideas :/
I have the 2016ish t102ha model and it runs quite sluggishly with windows 10 (pro). I was thinking of building my own installation using ntlite. Has anyone done this before? Any advice for what to remove and what to keep? I use office 2016 for work and Firefox the most, some other apps like foxit for reading pdfs (blueprints etc). And not much else.
With keyboard dock and several OEM charging cords + leather case? Don't know what to do with it. Cleaning my desk out.
Hello!
Long story short: most likely my T100TA keyboard suffered from some spilt drink and doesn't work as it should (some characters won't type, at all) and I was looking for a replacement keyboard.
I managed to find a bunch of used T100H docks online for a good price and am just wondering if I could use them without any issues.
Regards.
The screen will always click itself when the bottom right of the laptop gets hot. That spot is for the charger and all of that. Whenever my laptop gets warm, it always clicks itself and I can't do anything to work anything out.
I just temporarily disabled the touch drivers so that I could use the laptop a bit longer
Today, when I came home I found out that my laptop dock's hinge plastic opened on the seam. I tried to snap it back, but failed.
I couldn't find any teardown on this laptop, but at least I found out how to take it apart. The rubber feet hide some screws and then the case comes off.
I'll check the next day and see if I can repair it, and also note updates.
Here you can see how it broke, the magnetic part moves really easy and the screen is unstable.
My 1 year old Asus Transformer Book T100TAS has encountered a handful of errors. One of them being the screen. If my device is either Charging or Running for 3 minutes, the touchscreen flips out and clicks itself.
My hands aren't sweaty and my display is definitely not wet. It also has this vignetting effect on the screen and the corner pixels are starting to die too.
