Hi all,
I’ve had my Paperwhite for months and trying to figure it out but I can’t.
My “reading list” is always blank, except for samples downloaded. I have a ton of books on my Amazon Wishlist, and good reads want to read shelf, however they don’t seem to sync up?
I’m also unable to Wishlist an item from the kindle store on device - don’t know if this is connected?
If anyone has experienced this and knows how to fix it that would be great.
Thanks, Josh
If a textbook (e.g. Rang and Dale's Pharmacology - 10th Edition) gets updated (becomes Rang and Dale's Pharmacology - 11th Edition) would the Kindle version of that textbook be upgraded? Or, would it be released as a different entity that I would then need to buy again?
If you check the Kindle Store, you'll see the listing for the Kindle version is just called Rang and Dale's Pharmacology eBook - Kindle Edition. It's similar to Brad Schoenfeld's Science and Development of Muscle Hypertrophy. It's just listed as the "Kindle Version" yet it is in its Second Edition already.
if anyone knows - that'd be great!
I feel like I found the right people to share my accomplishment today. I always struggled to read but committing to reading even 5 pages a day I managed to get where I am.
Ideally I'd find just a flap or hard screen protector, since I use a sleeve. But I figured I'd ask here and see if I missed any good options. I really don't want to add any bulk, just get some rigid protection to stop any gouges right on the screen.
I was looking to buy a Kindle Paperwhite11th Gen from a major Australian retailer and in the week or so that I was looking, it has been removed from their site. On checking with the store they said it’s a discontinued version but no information about whether there is a new one coming. Does anyone have any intel on this? I’d hate to buy one elsewhere only for a new version to come out immediately 😅 thanks in advance!
Hello book fans,
I am checking out digital books from my local library. Some books are only available in ePub format.
I’ve read posts here about how to use a Kindle email address to send ePub books to my Kindle. That part seems clear.
But what do you do when the download you get from the library is not an actual book but an .acsm file?
From what I can tell, this is an Adobe format that unlocks a link to the ePub… possibly so you can read it in the Adobe Digital Editions app.
We’ve managed to open the book in that app, but…
I don’t want that, I want to read it on my Kindle. If I’d wanted to read it on my phone, I would’ve just done that in Libby. Kindles are much better.
How can I navigate this labyrinth and get this ePub library book hidden behind a .acsm file onto my Kindle where it belongs?
Thanks
For some series I buy on my kindle in bundles, it shows up as one long book and it’s hard to track my progress and not have them blend together. Is there a way to see my “time left reading” per book in a series like that?
Which one is faster?
What’s a best way to save battery. Bought a new PW last month and I’m already at 39%. Any suggestions.
Love my new kindle case
Got a page turner and I love it! Problem is my case is to thick so it won’t work. I like a case with a cover and not just a clear protective case.
For those that use remote page turners, what case do you use?
I turned off popular highlights. There doesn’t seem to be any other settings that apply to this.
So i live in a hotel. Im trying to get my kindle to connect to the wifi but the page wont load and my phone’s hotspot wont even show up.
Because let's be real, scrolling on this thing is a goddamned nightmare. Especially when it randomly opens links/tags as you scroll 🙄
So my Kindle randomly started doing this and idk why? It's on airplane mode also. Could someone tell me what's going on? I have a 10th Gen paperwhite
I've never listened to audible. I'm looking at a book where I can also add the audiobook. If I buy these two, will I have the option of NOT listening to it?
I just switched over to my new folio case but I honestly prefer my clear case. Just wondering what other people’s opinions are and I’d love to see people’s cases!
I have just read a thread here and in it, a couple of people mention that they have had their accounts closed by Amazon and subsequently have lost all their books etc. I’m not a deliberate breaker of rules nor a risk taker but this has made me wonder how often accounts get closed and what the reasons for closure are. I really don’t want to unwittingly break some obscure tac and lose my quite large Kindle library.
So up until today, I was able to borrow/buy books on my kindle like normal until the store page started freezing on a blank page. I did every sort of reset under the sun, read through the forums of deregistering/re-registering my device, and resetting all over again. Nothing worked. If anything it got worse and the page started showing a message read “Kindle Store Currently Unavailable”
I reached out to device support and was told to reset it again—granted the error message is gone, but the blank page consists. After 30 mins with support, I was basically told that the new kindle update basically will not let you borrow/buy anything through the kindle and that readers need to go through the actual amazon website.
What the actual fk.
I complained about how severely flawed that is and asked if they would fix this as it’s entirely opposite of what an ‘update’ should be, but I basically got a message equivalent to a shrug.
Is anyone else having this same issue or did support just feed me BS???
Edit: I have a kindle paperwhite 11th gen
Hey everyone :)
I used to have a kindle paperwhite, probably one that came out around 2018 as it was actually white which I loved!! Anyway, I lent to someone who lost it (sobs).
Are the new models worth it / are there any main differences or improvements? I’m not sure whether to go for a refurb or just get the latest model.
my main bug bear is that I really want a white one but they don’t seem to make them anymore 🤣
I like to switch sides a lot in bed while reading
I've recently seen a few adverts for kobo unlimited and have never seen or heard of them before. Does anyone have a kobo or kobo unlimited and can compare it to the kindle versions? Would love to know people's thoughts and opinions.
I don’t know how to describe this, but I have been considering getting a Kindle for a while. Logically, I think that the Kindle beats out physical books in most ways. Literally one of the only things that is stopping me is the fear that what if one day Amazon ceases to exist?? what’s gonna happen when 10 years down the line the battery dies? What if one day they just completely decide to nuke the Kindle? What about passing on books to my future children like my parents did to me? I know it’s silly, but does anyone else ever have this fear??
I have about 30 unread books on my kindle. Is there a way to see a summary or synopsis of a book from my library on my kindle?
Hi everyone,
I've recently bought a book on Japanese Kindle and I can access it just fine through PC however I struggle to do the same with my phone when I connect to Kindle it automatically connects me to the French Kindle of my account, I've tried switching country through the Amazon app, use a VPN but neither of those worked... Thanks in advance!
I know this is old news. But I absolutely love that I can highlight without having the menu.
