My kindle is over 5 years old. It works great, I have no issues. Just wondering if one should upgrade their kindle? Yes or No? Reasons? And which model if yes?

I (33F) used to be SUCH a good reader. And by that I mean I would get lost in books and be able to read for hours without thinking of other things or getting distracted.

Now, no matter how good the book is, I find myself doing a lot of meta thinking. Like thinking about reading as I’m reading. And always wanting to start the next book as I’m reading the current book. I can’t get as deep into books as I used to. Like, can’t put down the book, just one more page feeling is completely gone.

Has this happened to anyone else? I’m sad and I miss how much I used to enjoy it. Looking for any advice to get past this rut!

Guys, I need help! I made a post a couple of days ago about getting my first kindle and these are the options I have since we dont have amazon in my country. This is what the sellers have at the moment.

One store has the signature edition too but if its just the 32GB I dont think its worth it?

Do you think I could use the kindle kids normally if log in to my account?

I am on Kindle Basic 11th gen and the OS is version 5.17.1.0.3

It keeps marking the book I am reading as read even though I am only at 67%, have never marked it as read before, it's not marked as read on Goodreads, I don't use Kindle on my phone and I haven't opened the last page or something that triggers the "mark as read" by default.

But still, every time I close the book I find it marked as read, and I unmark it, then continue reading for a couple of days to find it marked as read again.

is there any solution for this? its not a big deal but its really annoying.

I was with my friend and we went to visit her friends. This little girl (prob 4th or 5th grade) was telling me how much she loves books and etc. I was telling her about Harry Potter and other types of books I recall reading at her age. She told me some disheartening news. I held back my tears. (Not being political) but she (American) told me she can’t go to libraries anymore because her parents aren’t American. I was stunned. I asked her mom to clarify because I wasn’t sure what I heard. Her mom told me that ICE has been present in local libraries and she’s scared ti take her daughters to the library. It was hard but I held back tears and told her I could possibly get her a kindle and some ebooks.

So my question is…. The kids version of Kindle- is it diff than the normal kindle? Also, what programs are available (legal) to borrow books for this child. I’ve heard of Libby. But is there anything else I can set her up on? As an avid reader- my soul was crushed when I heard the reason she couldn’t borrow books anymore.

I was worried about crushing my Kindle because I keep too much stuff in my purse 🥸 so I just made a little bag to have separately! 💛 I have really enjoyed the fold open case honestly

Hey everyone! I've had a first Kindle Touch back in 2013, and i've removed ads by asking a support.
Now i got a new Kindle Paperwhite (10th gen) and it got ads. I'm living in Ukraine so there's no option to buy a kindle from Amazon, only from resellers.
So i've asked a support if i can remove ads. They said no, there's only paid option for 20 bucks.
Today i've thought maybe i should pay 20 USD. I went to the device page and pressed "Remove ads" button. It asked for a payment method and address. I've updated address and added my card. But the button disappeared.
I've contacted support and they said that i should change address to US address. So i've tried and button appeared again.

So... I've spent an hour to know that Amazon can remove ads only in US and i need US bank card to do it. That's some kind of weird bullshit, i left very disappointed.

Like, they can't remove ads for free like thousand people did and if i want to pay, they can't accept my money!

Has anyone got their ads removed in the recent past?

I got a Kindle back when you had to buy from the US. I have a different email login for the US account from my Canadian account. How can I move my titles to the Canadian account?

The android app is reading the character c in a list (ie: a. b. c. d.) as 'celcius' instead of 'see'. Is there some sort of option somewhere that I've altered? Using the native reader is preferred.

It's a purchased book not a title on loan, rented, etc. pixel9, android 15, current kindle app.

Is there some other reader or method I can use such as exporting to pdf and using another app or ?

How are you keeping up with what you've read this year, what you want to read, etc?

So I've bought from external sources ebooks in .acsm, as kindle store does not offer any books at all in my language (European Portuguese). I then was able to transfer this to my Kindle and have it be readable... But I've been reading about this and it does not seem like caliber offers any sort of similar support to this. Seems like Kobo (the other big ebook brand) also does not support this file type... So I'm wondering how does one go from there if publishers go towards this file type? Any ideas?

Hey kindle friends, I know other people have asked this but I have a kindle paperwhite signature Gen 11 that’s about 14 months old & it just stopped working all of a sudden. It won’t come on. When I turn it on the light is green as if it’ll come on. I’ve tried holding it down & it’ll flash green. When I hold it down longer it’ll flash orange & it’ll restart. I know it’s not dead (as in the battery). Has someone else had this issue?

Hey guys, so I used to have a case on a tablet (some Android tablet from years back!) that would allow the tablet to be worn like a backpack. Is there something like this for Kindle? I'd love to just be able to wear my kindle around as a backpack! I have almost every kindle so the model does not matter, does anyone know what this would be called or how to make one?

Delighted to have a PWSE Jade. Very much in that bit like when you have a new phone and it’s so much nicer without a case but probably need to be practical. Should I get a cover? Or maybe just a sleeve? Was also thinking I would get a pop socket but not sure what to go for now any advice? Lots of threads on pop sockets and straps.

I just found a gold, mint condition, kindle oasis 10th gen for 170€. I already have a kindle matcha basic, but I wanted a second kindle for at home use, with warm light. Are the 170€ worth it for a second kindle? What are yalls experiences with kindle oasis?

This is a fake identity which has no information on the web and claims to have a PhD and publishes a book completely with AI and because of that publishes a new “book” every week on average on all kinds of IT subjects. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS AUTHOR! Unfortunately Kindle has taken no actions so far.

I’ve been looking into getting an e-reader primarily for Warhammer ebooks purchased from the publisher’s website, Black Library. I’ve read a couple things here and there regarding issues with uploading books bought from other stores on to a kindle, accounts getting blocked and that sort of thing.

Is this actually the case? Are there any issue if at all with uploading books from other retailers?

I’m considering getting the newer Paperwhite edition.

I just got a clear case and want to put the tardis doors in between the case and the kindle. I'm having a really hard time finding one that would size well to the size needed to cover the whole back of the kindle. Im wondering if anyone else has done this also and if they have a picture or recommendations on how to go about it.
