Hey folks - I love reading and often take notes, research topics, and try and connect the dots between what I'm reading.
However, manual note taking takes too long, going to the web or using a computer breaks my concentration, etc. I thought it'd be cool to have a Kindle-like app that has a Siri-like assistant built in.
You can ask the assistant to:
All by using your voice. Would you all be interested in something like this? I plan to build it for myself and would love to get people here that'd be interested in beta testing!
So my girlfriend is wanting a e reader for her birthday and I'm debating on what to get her. She mentioned that she prefers to scroll up and down to see what she's reading versus swiping left or right for the pages. Would it make more sense going with an ipad mini or getting a more traditional e reader?
Are there any subscriptions out there that give me a huge library of books to choose from? Trying to get into reading and I’m just curious if anything is out there.
Imagine you are reading a book. And you are the hero of the book.
Each time there is an important decision, you can choose it and the story will adapt.
I am working on that project and I am looking for testers. I am not selling anything, I just need feedback to build a nice story.
If you are interested by this project, please leave a comment !
Thanks for your time and enjoy your readings! 😊 📚
I am considering an ereader mainly for reading, preferably color so I can read graphic novels and manga. However, it would be great if it would allow decent browsing, so I can also use it to scroll video game walkthoughs while playing. I don't need extra apps or to watch videos, just the reading and browsing. I've seen options like the Boox Go Color 7 and the Pocketbook Inkpad Color 3, would these be decent options?
So I read this book on tha Galatea app a while go and wanted to reread it but now I can't find it. I'm not sure if it was removed or not but I only remember the plot. It was about a woman who met a guy at her friends wedding and he wanted to start booking up but she didn't want to at first because she was newly divorced and raising her step daughter Izzy. Eventually she gives in and they see each other whenever they can but it's just casual until she catches feeling only for him to shut her down. It turns out he has a chance of having an incurable disease that his mom and brother died of and is just scared. Can someone please help me with this it's driving me crazy??!!!
My old sony ereader finally broke. I want a small (< 8inch) black and white e-ink device on which I can read ebooks. That is all it needs to do. It does not need to be fast, or have backlight. I do not care what built in shop it has, I won't be using it anyways.
My requirements:
The store where I buy my books from is kobo compatible, so that is an option. However I do not just want to get a kobo because the stores I use happen to be kobo compatible.

Would You Rather in Japan: Explore the Land of Sushi, Anime and Samurai With 254 Fun and Thought-Provoking Questions is a cool book as a paperback, but in its electronic version, it is even easier to take with you on a road trip or anywhere for that matter! It's perfect for adults and teenagers. For younger kids, it would be challenging without adult help.
The ebook is FREE on Amazon today! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DR767KNY
The book has immersive chapter introductions that help to transport you to different areas of Japanese life. In each chapter, the basic questions are followed by bonus questions with three options. Chapters cover customs, food, nature, anime, pop culture, life and work, technology, and more. Japan is only the first country in the series! I wonder which country is next in line!
I have been reading my eBooks as ePub on Play books for a long time. Cell phone and tablet acc linked, both Android and work great.
But for a few weeks now I've had the problem that the book covers only appear in color on my cell phone or are displayed at all.
This means: if I download a book on my cell phone, it appears in the home feed and in the library in color and with a cover, and it doesn't matter whether the book is downloaded for offline reading or not.
However: it transfers the books to the tablet anyway. And are they gray? But even if I download the book on my tablet, the colored cover only appears in the home feed and as soon as I switch to the library, all new books are gray and without a cover, regardless of whether they can be read offline or online.
Please can someone help me, this is driving me nuts 🫠
Anyone else here that uses cloudlibrary having problems with the app? I’ve found there is no way to even contact support. They did an app update and now it won’t load or allow downloads/searches.
This ebook is currently free -FYI
If anyone is looking for a cute little story for kids that have social anxiety, fear of heights, loud noises etc - this book is super cute. It's about a porcupine that has to overcome general anxieties with a series of tips and tricks provided by friends. Figured others might be able to benefit from this story. here's the ebook

if you have any other recommendations for anxiety books for young children, I'm all ears :)
If you have these eReaders can you tell me about them?
I've watched reviews and can't decide.
Screen is the same size.
Price is relatively the same.
Both are packed with features.
I mainly use it for reading and taking notes.
Personally I lean a bit more towards Onyx but since I've never even used any ereader its hard to tell anything.
Any insight is very appreciated!
I am legitimately purchasing ebooks on bookshop.org and want to access the .epub file. For some reason it seems like they block any access to download the book.
I know many times people figure out a way to work around it, but I haven’t found anything about it, so I thought I’d ask here.
I’d love to support my local bookstore! But I do not want to read books on their iOS app or a computer.
I cannot find it in archive of our own. Please help. Thank you!
Does anyone know where to buy an audiobook or preferably an ebook version of the Norton Anthology of Drama Volume 1 (Third Edition)?
Edit: I see that there is a paperback on wwnorton.com with "an expanded suite of free digital resources." but I still don't know whether that includes an ebook. ?
