Where to find ebooks to put on my app?

I'm looking to add tons of ebooks especially the more popular titles and the upcoming titles as well as classics from all the genres. Now my issue is how do I go about listing these ebooks and give people access to these ebooks on my app? Are there general companies that have rights to these ebooks whom I should contact or the directly the publishers? How do I do that?

Audiobooks out loud not on phone?

Hello! My mom is older and would like to be able to listen to audiobooks out loud, without having to attach connect wireless headphones or a speaker as she is not as good with technology.

She likes having a separate device for books, so she does not want to use her phone or iPad for audio books.

She has an older kindle that she enjoys for reading, but wishes there was a way to enjoy audiobooks too. My understanding is they do not make kindles or similar devices with built in speakers.

Is there another solution? Let me know your thoughts and suggestions, much appreciated!!

Author font

So I'm reading an ebook and want to use the font used by the author. The book has multiple POVs and the author uses different fonts for POVs. Can anyone help on how to do this? I've searched the web but can't find definite answers. I'm using MoonReader at the moment. TIA

Im at a crossroads, with many paths to choose from, but I dont know which..

I recently self published a book with kindle publishing, but due to not having any social media I am having a difficult time promoting and marketing the book. I have been advised to create a social media to help, but I have qualms with it, and due to the nature of my book and my lifestyle choices I feel it would be hypocritical. I have also been advised to try and create a blog or a youtube channel. I tried filming myself to see what it would go like, and I can safely say, not for me. And I dont know how you promote a blog or advertise for one without social media? I am just not sure of any of these chasms that are far beyond my knowledge. I am fairly young, so I have the output energy, and a homeschool mom to my children, so I have the time. I just dont know what to do. I sol a few copies the first day of release to a few family members but it has been a stand still since then. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Ebook standardiser

I have many epub ebooks with annoyingly different formatting. Is there any way to standardise them? For example, something that strips all data other than text and xhtml formatting, then allows me to add back standardised formatting. Are there any other solutions? Plain-ish text ebook formats? Is there a bank of good standard book formatting?

Borrowing english ebooks in Germany

Hi there, I hope I am right in the right place for this question.

I am German and live in Germany. However, I mostly read english books. I am glad that I am able to do that, as many translations aren't to good. I recently got an ereader (tolino epos 3) for the first time. There is an app, skoobe where you can get a subscription and borrow almost as many as you want. The selection of english books is okay but not the best. I could also get a membership for my local library to access their ebooks (Onleihe, for my fellow germans) but the selection of english ebooks as far as I could see is even worse. I looked up some popular books with little success.

Now to my question: are there any resources for borrowing english books that I could access from Germany? I found kobo, but that's not available in my country, so I am not sure if there's a way that could work. Any tips? Maybe someone here had the same problem and found a solution?

Thanks in advance

A dark fantasy novel appears before your eyes, and you find yourself compelled to download it...

𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙘𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙣 𝙖 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙪𝙣𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙥 𝙩𝙤𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙖 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙛𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙈𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙘 𝙖𝙣𝙙, 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙮, 𝙖 𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙡𝙚 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙡.

Greetings fellow humans (and human-like entities)! First of all, I must apologize for the aforementioned peril. We have tried our best to ward you against hazards such as this, but it remains nonetheless, lurking over your shoulder, well aware that you do not want it there, like a sneeze that has lodged itself within your nasal cavity, refusing to flee like any self-respecting sneeze would.

And now that our Magical disclaimer is over, please allow us to introduce ourselves. My name is Kristen, and the peculiar, angular-faced man to my left is Viktor (trust me, he’s here… to my left). You have never met us, and certainly never heard of us, but allow me to assuage your fears; we are nothing more than friendly neighborhood Magical historians, and we have teleported over to Reddit in order to reveal our new, ongoing dark fantasy book series – one which you are welcome to download entirely for free! There are no strings attached, no time limits, no dark bargains to sign in blood, and nothing you will be required to purchase as our series progresses into the future. We are simply passionate authors with humble origins, and we want nothing more than to make sure no one is left out from taking an incredible journey with us, no matter what their financial situation might be. So whether you’re a Welder or a Wizard, a Mason or a Mage, we invite you to delve into our first Volume: 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙤 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙍𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙈𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙘.

For those searching for the truth, look no further; you have found what you seek. For those longing for a fantastic story, set in a rich, ever-growing world, the 𝙅𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙮 𝙀𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙡 series is an amalgamation of genres, where dark fantasy, science fiction, and a peculiar sense of humor meet in one unforgettable tale. In a world where no one is immune to the powerful influence of Magic, and nothing is ever as it seems, can our heroes triumph against the demonic forces which seek to destroy them, and at what cost? How far are they willing to go to save humanity and preserve Magic, before they become the very thing they fight against? What begins with a fleeting glimpse into a child’s tragic accident, rapidly grows into a universe-encompassing, mind-bending journey toward what lies beyond the stars. If you're ready to take your first steps toward discovering humanity's true history, then your own journey starts here.

𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙤 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙍𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙈𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙘 includes the first 3 parts of our 9-part series, which will then branch out to expand upon other tales already revealed within the same universe. If you enjoy eccentric characters, ghastly imagery, realistic Magic, logically crafted time travel, and a dash of offbeat humor, teleport over to our mostly competent, low-budget website at www.ForgetMagic.com. You’ll find the download links on our “THE BOOKS” page. And if you enjoy what you read, it would mean the world to us if you shared it with your friends and left us a positive review on Goodreads or other review sites. Without your help, we stand no chance of sharing humanity’s incredible past before its too late!

With warmest personal regards,

BorrowBox

It seems like most libraries in the UK use BorrowBox to lend out eBooks from their collection. Considering how prolific BorrowBox is, it seems really odd to me that they don't support any actual eReaders, only computers, tablets and smartphones. Is the only officially supported option to get an eBook from my library onto my Kobo really to use the nightmare that is Adobe Digital Editions?

I'm amazed no-one has come up with a common technical standard for this process to make it simpler for users.

Need help/advice about e-book reader apps on android...

Apologies if this isn't the right place, but I'm experiencing a universal problem with all e-readers on my phone and this seems like the place where I'd find people in the know.

Basically I love reading books on my phone, but I have this issue where I have a number of word files in my email that I need to reference from time to time, but if I have an ebook reader they'll automatically open the word files and eff up the tables and formatting.

Is there a way to exclude specifically word files from opening in my ebook reader?

I couldn't find it in the app's settings or anywhere else. The one guide I found regarding default apps doesn't have the option to choose default by type on my phone (Samsung A34) and the Defaults setting in the app itself (Moon+ Pro in my case) doesn't seem to work as the app still yoinks the word files even after I disable 'Open supported links', which is the only setting available.

I'd really appreciate some help! 🙏

Why do older ebooks disappear from the market?

I also got an ebook reader because I expected ebooks to stay available like forever. But now I experienced several older publications to just vanish. And I'm speaking published around 2010 or even younger. I'm from German thou if that makes any difference.

Do any of you know why is that? Or have an idea where to still get them?

It just doesn't make any sense to me...

[Free] One Visit (2022)

There's a battle around every corner, how far would you go to afford exemption?

Hard-hitting and brutally authentic, One Visit goes deep inside the harrowing existence most in poverty have no choice but face.

Frankie Gibbs, an unambitious adolescent on Universal Credit, wants nothing more than to keep his brother Dazzler out of the North Wales care system. Poverty isn't Frankie's only obstacle, as their boozing, coke-head single-parent father, Guy Gibbs, heaps misery on their lives through systematic abuse and never-ending wild parties.

Dazzler's bright, but at just twelve years old, isn't mentally prepared for the turmoil unfolding around him. Not least once Justin, an acquaintance from Frankie's school days now turned drug dealer, rocks up on the scene. Such gnarly environments either make or break a kid, but where do you turn when everyone's lights are off?

Any good .EPUB readers that you guys recommend?

Not sure if this is the right sub for this question, but it is ebooks related. I have some ebooks on my computer that are in EPUB file format and I am not able to find any software out there that seems to give me a convenient way to open and read them.

What do you guys suggest for .EPUB files?
