Is there anyway to upload Mobi ebooks to Kindle or Google Play Books? If not, is there an IOS app that you are liking that does a nice read for Mobi ebooks without the need to convert the Mobi file to epub, etc.?
The reason that I do not wish to convert these Mobi ebooks (i.e., with Calibre) is because I want to see the Mobi ebook in its original format as a Mobi ebook. It is a book on consciousness (a series published originally for Kindle in Mobi format) and yes I am being a little OCD about the Mobi format but I wish to stick with that format (and not convert).
I thank you for your assistance and suggestions!! 🙏

The village of Hogwood hides many dark secrets and every resident has a skeleton in their closet they desperately try to hide. Vengeance is a fast paced Comedy-Horror novella that focuses on the very appealing ideas and themes of revenge. As sweet and as satisfying as revenge can feel like in your dreams does it satiate the appetite like we think it will? Read it, if you dare!
The Book of Wisdom delves into esotericism, symbolism, and the interconnectedness of all existence, offering profound insights into spirituality and the human experience. Central to the book is the concept of syncretism, which merges various fields of knowledge into a unified framework, portraying reality as a singular, holistic creation.
Key themes include the integration of the mind and body, the spiritual journey of self-awareness, and the activation of higher consciousness through metaphysical practices like meditation, energy alignment, and the awakening of the pineal gland (often symbolized as the “third eye”). The book intertwines ancient wisdom, religious metaphors, and modern interpretations to present a guide for spiritual growth and inner transformation.
The narrative emphasizes that true enlightenment requires balancing the physical and spiritual aspects of existence while recognizing the divine essence within oneself. Through its teachings, readers are invited to explore profound truths about the universe and their place within it.

A tale from a steaming bowl of udon noodles in a quiet alleyway in Japan.
This true story, as claimed by the noodle seller, revolves around a young couple in 1990s Tokyo who stumble upon a mysterious wardrobe.
Now, before you roll your eyes and think, "Great, another monster-in-the-wardrobe cliché," let me stop you—this isn't that kind of story. If it were, the author wouldn’t have wasted his time (or yours). Instead, this tale is far stranger, filled with unexpected twists and surprises—much like a bowl of udon, where you can never quite predict what you'll pull out next.
So grab a snack, settle in, and let the author serve you this story as the noodle seller did that night. Trust me—it’s worth savoring every last drop.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Kyle did not have the best start to life and because of this shares Axiom’s main character’s altruism and sadness. He hopes this anime meets real society story reaches those who have also experienced pain and lets them know they’re not alone. That they’re not crazy. There’s still good in the world and we can change it for the better.
Axiom is about Dustin, an altruistic college student who hates what his species has become. Due to his past, he only wants to help people, but he sees the opposite every day. Then one day, he wakes up stuck to the ceiling of his college apartment and discovers the planet herself has bestowed upon him literal energy and ki-based superpowers.
He learns the Earth is alive like us, has her own physical body, and other planets have a similar situation. However, this newfound way to help people, and change the world for the better, comes with a warning of an evil older than the galaxy and a personal demon from Dustin's past.

Besides being a unique superhero story, Axiom (and its two sequels) features a solid female lead and a best friend who would make any scientist blush.
Rachel is our main hero's love interest, independent and headstrong, but hides a dark past of her own. She can unbelievably stand her ground against the enemies and superpowered antagonists who appear throughout the series.
Ryan is Dustin's best friend and, while awkwardly emotional and humorous at times, is one of the world’s most brilliant people. As the series goes on, we discover he can access the multiverse, create androids, weapons, and a whole host of other machinery.
As for inspirations, Axiom gets its influences from a wide range of cartoons and anime. If you've ever seen an all-out fight or some form of combat in anime/manga form, you can expect to enjoy your time with the Axiom trilogy. There are fantastic set pieces, both original and inspired, with stakes ranging from personal to planetary destruction. There are unique ki-based superpowers, martial arts, beam struggles, and many incredible techniques and moves from an assortment of characters and roles
Is there a epub sales portal that benefits authors directly? Currently I buy the paper book from my favorite local bookstore then download the epub for free. I give the paper book away since I don't have a use for it.
Does anyone else have strategies to recommend for supporting the authors they love?
--
Edit: After reading a few responses and doing fresh research it looks like hardback earn authors about 15% of the cost and paperbacks about 6%. Kindle sales range between 30% and 70% depending on the model and sales there increase visibility on the platform which most authors like. Smashwords is 70% and Lulu can go up to 90%.
Paper sales at release help a ton with marketing a placement deals even with the low percentage payout. Joining the waitlist and checking out from your library even if you return it right away is helpful to drive numbers as well.
My knowledge here was way out of date. Just buy it however it is convenient for you as far as the author is concerned.
I suppose I've been supporting my bookstore more than the author. Still a good cause. Local bookstores are amazing!
You know how the Kindle’s dictionary is usually either confusing (tens of different definitions) or simply useless, as it doesn’t recognize the words properly?
I found a solution for this and other issues that make us get stuck in a book. I’m excited to share with you:
So, this month I came across an e-reading app called BookRead AI and it has radically transformed my reading experience and habit.
It has several functions that enhance the reading experience, like end-of-chapter quizzes and recaps, but I think one word sums up its best feature: CONTEXT.
With BookRead, when you select any word or passage of the book, it provides you a contextualized explanation, definition, translation or even rephrasing of the passage, powered by ChatGPT’s AI. It knows and understands what it’s talking about, and you can even talk back.
This, along with a sleek interface, has allowed me to fly over difficult, wordy classic books, and technical papers that I previously got stuck with in the first few pages, absorbing much more of their content.
I recommend you check it out!
I've been using ReadEra Premium on my android tablet for a while now and I've found the dictionary feature, where you can add a word to the dictionary and it'll underline it every time you encounter it, very helpful. I've been using it to keep track of any unfamiliar names I come across in my nonfiction reading, if I see the name come up again in other books I take it as a cue to look into them properly.
What I would really love is a way to do a mass ctrl-f of my whole library (I download new books very liberally), like being able to type in "John Doe" and see a list of every file I have that mentions him. Are there any apps that would allow me to do this? Android preferably but I'll take PC only as well, and while I'm not in the market for an e-reader if there's one that has this functionality that would be welcome information too.
Also, a more out there request but I'll throw it out here as well - I would love a way to visualize my library along the same vein, like a web where books that reference other books (or their authors) are connected by lines. I usually download new books after seeing them referenced in whatever I'm currently reading, so seeing my library spread out like a map like this would be very cool! If anyone knows any program that'd let me do this I'd be very grateful.
It does have some gore, so be mindful.
Like many folks I love the look of a good bookshelf and being surrounded by books in general.
However, realistically, I tend to read from my kindle 99% of the time.
I would occasionally buy used physical books after finishing the ebook on kindle but I can’t help but feel wasteful doing that since I’m not actually reading the physical books - purely aesthetic.
I have to assume I’m not the only one in this situation so I am curious to hear how others deal with this? I suppose it’s possible to display just a few of your favorite books physically, or just go all in on getting physical copies of books you’ve read or would like to read and have the bookshelf be more for its look than actually reading the books.
Anyway, curious to get the opinion of others here!

Learn English: Short and Simple Stories: This Wasn’t in the Job https://a.co/d/gpDCjt9
Pull up a chair, have a drink and read these funny, odd, and gross work stories for adult English learners. They feature vomit, nudity, and a severed arm. They are the type of stories people might sit around and tell their friends.
The 8 short stories teach English, grammar, and informal speech.
All 8 of the stories feature a job description and picture. Then the same story is written in 3 difficulty levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced.
The Beginner version uses simple words and grammar. It's easy to understand.
The Intermediate version uses harder words and more complicated grammar. The story has more details.
The Advanced version is written in native English speakers would use when telling a story to their friends.
After every two stories is a section called, “Would you Rather” which asks different people which job they would rather have - and which situation they would rather endure.
