I'm planning on buying the Daiwa Darkwater DKWT70MHS 30-50 spinning rod but I noticed it has no listed lure weight. How do I figure it out?
Caught fishing bridges in southern Florida.
Hey everyone, I’ve been using a slip bobber on my setup and am wondering if there’s a good way to leave it on my line even when I’m not actively using it to float my bait. My goal is to keep it on the line without it suspending my bait (like for a drop rig where I want the bait deeper or on the bottom). Should I just slide the bobber stopper far up the line when I’m not using it, or would it be better to take it off entirely when I don’t need it? Any tips for efficiently switching between float and bottom setups without constantly re-rigging? Thanks
New to fishing. Please be kind.
Hey y'all, I'm seeing Pflueger Presidenrs are $30 off rn and their largest side can hold 20 lb mono which fits up with the rod I have that needs a reel (10 ft medium heavy rod) would that work for stripers?
I'm getting a mixed bag of answers on lengths looking this up. And what are folks favourite knot to join them? I lost a nice lure when the joining knot snagged an eyelet while casting, so I am curious if it was my fault, or tough luck. Should the mono be long enough to spool on the reel some? Or short enough to not draw the knot through the eyelets at all? Mine was sort of in between and snagged on the second eye from the reel. I also use a steel leader, so is the mono lead even needed or worth it? Thank you for any advice or tips. Fish on!
I've got some old fishing gear that belonged to my grandpa including some old fishing line. Likely from the 90s. Do you think it's good to use or should I just toss it?
Hello, I am researching baitcaster models that offer LH retrieve AND a spool guide that moves while in free spool/casting.. having trouble finding one. Any info is helpful thank you!
Great pickle, I'm so happy I caught him due to my horrible hook setting skills, normally I rely on treble hooks, however I changed it up with a white swim shad, thing demolished it
Looking at getting a livescope around Black Friday. I want it to be portable on some form of shuttle from HD or summit or whatever. I’d like to be able to use it on my tin boat and ice fish in the winter with it.
My question is, do I buy a head unit that comes WITH the transducer included so I can have side view and chirp on my tin in the summer or should I just run livescope the whole time? I don’t know what to do. Thanks!
Specifically Claiborne/ union county? Just looking for spots to throw some lines in from shore. Any tips are appreciated.
