What are the Bow fishing rules in wa? can i walk around shooting fish in a river?
Starting to heat up in Iowa
Definitely a first for me!
I have been wanting to get into bow fishing for carp for a number of years and I was wondering if there is a good kit on Amazon I can get without spending a crazy amount of money.
Very new into bow fishing and a broken nock caused me to basically dry fire the bow and my string to come off. Now I can’t figure out how to restring the bow. I can’t find any manuals or YouTube videos for this specific bow either. Anyone have some advice? It’s almost like the string isn’t long enough or I can’t get my cams back in the same position.
Am I doomed for a visit to the bow shop?
so i have a crossbow (Bear X Desire XL Self-Cocking Pistol Crossbow from amazon) can i customize it for bow fishing? any suggestions?
Just curious. Any of the lines that I can find for my wife’s bow seem too thick. Anyone using a 200 or so lb braid? Any other suggestions?
Is anyone having issues with getting this bow to shoot accurately. I’m having issues with it constantly shooting high I’m having to aim way low for it to even remotely hit the target. This isn’t shooting in deep water either shallow and on land it’s having the issue as well. Anyone know how to fix this issue or having the issue as well?
Looking for cheap/tough. Maybe not night or super accurate because, well, I have low expectations. Gimme your opinions.
Looking at a new bow. What type of reel do you like?
Here’s my GRex story… I bought my GRex brand new right around a year ago and it’s blown up on me over 5 times since. I take it to a bow shop, they fix it and get the string back on, then it’s back to shooting till it blows up again. I’ve taken it to several reputable bow shops and I get a different explanation every time. The one I get the most is misalignment-just a poorly designed bow. If anyone is on the fence, I have an Oneida Osprey that is as old as Oneida itself and it’s never blown up on me.
I like Gstring bowstrings. The guys that run it are nice but their bows just haven’t passed the durability test for me yet.
Looking for a RH Lever Bow, anybody got any they are looking to get rid of? Open to RPM, Vader, Grex, Gnat, Oneida. just about anything other than a Muzzy lever.
I’ve been on the fence about bow fishing but I lean more towards it each day. I shoot a traditional recurve with no sight. Should I practice the feel of a fishing bow like shooting and reeling in or do I have enough foundation already shooting. I started archery in September of last year
Just bought an old compound Hoyt (MT Sport Intruder) from a pawn shop and looking to convert it for bow fishing. Looking for recommendation on the full setup that won’t break the bank, but don’t want junk.
I'm starting to blowfish this season. I've already got a decent compound and I'm gonna get a bottle reel and arrows for it. My question is how do you aim it as I was told you don't use a sight when bow fishing like you would deer hunting. Am I just looking at the tip of the arrow?
My general idea here is, is it possible to bowfish in a river or small body of water with no reel attached. Just manually pulling in your catch. Has anyone here tried this?
More of the… “primative” bowfishing approach i guess. I have a recurve bow and was just curious
Question speaks for itself. I’m in the market for a used boat in the midTN area and while I mainly rod fish I want to have the capability to put a light rig and bow fish out of it. I like to fish the smaller rivers and intend to bowfish the same. Trying to decide between 14’ flat John and a bigger 16’ v bow bass boat. A 14’ John stable enough? I’d put a deck on it if possible and a removable spotlight frame. Curious what you guys run.
Anyone running a budget light rig with a battery? Don’t have a ton of time or money to upgrade into evening bowfishing, but I’d like to review some options.
Ideally running off a battery, bonus if I can run it off the same two I use for my trolling motor.
Water is murky, almost never good visibility. Targeting invasives like Snakeheads in a river system in Maryland.
