I have an fox eos pro 390 spod rod with okuma 8s spod reel.
When I m throwing huge spasm generating on the line, i have tried reel with less line on it but still happen
Ever since I started using this rig (selfmade) I started to loose fish when setting the hook. What could be happening? Before, I was using pre made Ronnie rigs and had no problems
Hi All,
Hopefully this is ok to do but I'm currently producing and selling spool reducers for all of the following reels:
The purpose of spool reducers for those that dont know is to get a perfectly filled spool without having to put excessive mainline on or using backing line/tape etc. When a spool of fluorocarbon costing in excessive of £80 now for 600 meters it makes sense to try and fit that onto 3 reels.
What I want to know is which reels would benefit to have a reducer that was the perfect size to say take 250 meters of 0.35mm.
Please let me know below which reels you think deserve a spool reducer.
Here are my current spool reducers kraken-products on eBay
How are people finding the carp fishing (or fishing in general) in the recent cold weather? Have you switch to silverfish or are you still having good days with carp?
I had a great summer at my local lake, the kind of place where you’d get 15-20 commons/mirrors out in an 8 hour session - all ranging between 10-20lbs. I don’t have much experience winter fishing and I’m
Concerned that they won’t be feeding until the temp is consistently above 10 degrees? (It’s currently 2-5 degrees most days where I live).
What do you all tend to do during the winter?
Do you use iOS and want to keep track of all your catches with useful analytics? I built an iOS App for me called LogIT - The Fishing Journal which might be useful for you as well. No sign in process, no ads, data is private and secure in your iCloud. Free to download and the pro version can be unlocked within the app for only 0,99€/month. Alternative lifetime purchase is possible as well (no force to a subscription). It’s basically just released and a lot of updates are in pipeline. I will improve it frequently. From an angler for anglers. Tight lines and thanks for reading.

Ok, I lie.. I did manage to snap the tip of my Drennan Vertex 14ft Float rod today.. but caught 10 tiny little commons with the pole instead!
Hi, can someone explain how this rig works?
I realise that the buffer and the chod bead create two barriers either side of the swivel, however is the swivel free running up the main line or is it fixed at the position of the buffer bead right at the bottom near the lead?
If it’s free running, what is stopping the bead from moving further up the main line? Is the bead meant to fit tight around a leader… or am I meant to put a line-stop to fix the bead in place?
Most of the YouTube guides (eg Carl) don’t use beads like this, but it seems to be the most common style on amazon.
Thanks
I want to try zigrig and i choosed this product however its losing lead can you suggest one without losing leads.
After a couple of nights on the bank and a uber eats which was £16 for the worst kebab I’ve ever eaten. I got the slow cooker out made up a batch to freeze. Done beef and lentil curry as well, freezer bag and heat up on the stove with some naan. One pot suggestions required 🙏🙏
I have a lot of bait holder hooks and some octopus hooks but just trying to get started on a carp box and don't want to spend more then I have to for gear.
Looking at some bait feeder reels or whatever they are called. New to carp fishing.
How do you guys practice casting if you don't have access to a large field?
I am currently using 12ft 3.5lb black widdow rods and daiwa crosscast big pit reels.
They are a bit massive for me and a bit hard ti handle.
I am planning to switch over to something like: Fox eos 10000 br and Fox 10ft 3lb rods
Now my concern is, would i be able to cast around 80ish meter with those?
Got a nice and feisty mirror yesterday morning on the fly and floattube. First Carp on the Fly for 2025 and starting off with a mirror made me happy
will this rig work? I'll use a 25g egg sinker after the swivel
So i live in australia and I've seen some carp in my local lake bigger than my dog. Ive done a bit of skimming the internet and I dont really have the stuff for any of the cool rig components but I was wondering should I use corn kernels or white bread?
In addition the lake is super weedy and can get quite windy so I was wondering what rigs would work best, I only really have ball sinkers baitkeeper rigs and a couple floats (stuff for saltwater fishing usually)
the split shot looks big for some reason its only 0.2g
.
Hi all. Where are you buying your base mix ingredients? Do you get stuff sent over from the UK?
