2023 Chevy equinox engine

I have a 2023 Chevy equinox today I made a left-hand turn onto another road went to go accelerate a little bit and it sputtered. The RPMs revved. My check engine light then turned on and a warning came up on my screen that said my engine power was reduced, I don’t think I have ever experienced this. I plan on getting it in tomorrow, but just wanted to make a post and see what I should expect or if anybody else has had this happen.

Never Had A Chevy

Looking for a suburban or Yukon with whatever motor is most reliable.

I probably will use it for towing and do not need 4x4.

Heard 02-05 were the golden years?

All I'll be using it for is ripping out the seats except driver/passenger for a bed for traveling and toolbox.

Light camping, like service roads a f150 can do but not a ford mustang or Honda civic.

Prefer the 5.3 but would it be able to tow 7500 once in a while?

I used to flip cars, the most I've done on my sequoia 2005 was a 2012 Forrester on a uhaul car dolly (dual axle).

The sequoia might have been reliable, but it sure as hell had no tow power and got 2mpg up a slight hill.

TIA, will reply.

2016 Malibu not responding to key fob

Car sat for one month and ran ok.

Car sat for 3 more weeks and not responding.

Key fobs batteries were changed and car still not responding.

How to troubleshoot? No way to get in to my knowledge. Previous use did not indicate something was wrong with battery.

Why is my Silverado only spinning one wheel in a burnout?

I have an 05 Silverado 1500 with the g80. I know that the g80 acts as an open diff until there is a difference in wheel speed and then sends power to both wheels. I’ve only ever done a handful of burnouts but I’ve never really seen myself do one (see both wheels spinning). I asked someone to film it and I saw that only one wheel was spinning. Was I going to slow or to fast and maybe that’s why only one wheel was doing a burnout? Is my G80 blown up inside and that’s why? Could it be because I’m doing a burnout in drive and not 1st or 2nd?

Any help is appreciated!

Chevrolet Silverado 2013. Fuse 56 keeps blowing while driving.

My vehicle is Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - 2013 with 310k kilometers.

I seem to have strange issue where fuse 56 blows, but only when I drive. I can leave truck idle for hours and it will keep working. But the moment I drive it will blow after about 5km (3 miles), then engine dies.

If I replace the fuse it keeps blowing and every time the range seem to get less and less until it becomes just mere feets.

If I let the truck cool down over night or for couple of hours, the story repeats itself.

The fuse in question is 15amp fuse and full description of it as follow:

Electronic Brake Control

Module (EBCM) (HP2), Engine

Control Module (ECM), ), Fuel

Pump Flow Control Module

(Gas except L96 or LU3), Fuel

Pump Relay – Secondary (L96

with N2N)

The first time it happened there were no code, no engine light, no nothing.

But the second time, I got all kind of codes and weirdly the vehicle switched to 4x4.

Does anyone has an idea what might be cause? As I mentioned I can idle for hours, happens only when I drive.

PS: Things I have fixed so far. Had code p2535 and replaced ignition switch. This was the only code.

Also waiting on accelerator pedal to come (this was an old issue that led to reduced engine power etc..., I don't think it causes the current issue but I am not sure).

selling 2001 chevy blazer, price recommendations?

needs new transmission, runs fine but only up to 30-40 mph. 190k miles. MAF sensor needs cleaning or replacement. minor interior and cosmetic damage. according to aamco, trucks in great condition otherwise

all these junk car buyers are offering $500, im hoping to sell it slightly higher on marketplace/craigslist, just curious as to what a fair price would be. i think itd be a fun project for a car enthusiast to get into

Help with latest infotainment software version

I was trying to figure out if there is a newer software version for my '21Equinox? Hitting the software update in settings says up to date but I've read elsewhere that that can be unreliable. Not sure if it matters but I just swapped my OnStar module because my microphone stopped working and people could not hear me if I was on a call.

Please excuse the dust and fingerprints.

2009 Impala Question

Wondering if anyone could help me out. I have a 2009 Chevy Impala in decent condition. Previously, whenever I would lock and/or unlock the car with remote access, the car would make several distinct beeps.

Recently I took it into the shop for an oil change and now it no longer beeps when I use the remote to unlock/lock. The only time it beeps is when I press the remote lock button a second time.

I've tried going through the DIC, but none of the options have fixed this. Does anyone know how to turn this feature back on? It was a help feature (and has helped me find the car in parking lots).

Figuring Out Towing

Hey all, been window shopping and researching trucks off and on for years and might finally buy a diesel next year. My father-in-law has a Ford dealership and says he would never drive a Ford if they didn't give him one for free which is pretty damning. Other subreddits like justrolledintheshop crap on Dodge frequently which leaves Chevy/GMC. My current farm truck is an 07 Sierra 1500 which has 115,000 miles and has had very little issues in the nine years I've owned it, but it is really struggling lately to tow even our little two horse aluminum horse trailer. The gas milage also sucks

I've spent some time on the GMC website the last few days and am hating how hard it is to find info, I tend to have better luck with Google and reddit. One thing I found out when looking in to why a 3500 is only about $2000 more expensive is the 2500 has an option to lower the GWVR to 10,000 which allows for cheaper taxes. However, people across reddit say while 2500s [of any brand] ride smoother and have cheaper taxes, if you really want to tow you should go to a 3500. Either way, I need help figuring out what I truly need.

It isn't in the budget right now, but one day my wife would love a three horse LQ trailer. Google says to expect an empty weight of 10,000lbs. Her horses are ~800-900lbs each but let's round to 1000 and say we'd need to pull 13,000lbs 6-12 times per year in the future and we'd never use this as a daily driver. Google and GMC website say towing tops out at 12,000lbs in some places and 20,000lbs in others. I'm also not sure if that includes the GVWR of the vehicle.

Google says the 2500HD weighs 5500lbs (which honestly sounds low, I think our Tucson weighs that much). So if we take 20% of the 13,000lbs (I think that is how you calculate tongue weight of a gooseneck though I've never owned a gooseneck), that is 2600lbs. Add the 5500 ofthe truck we get 8100lbs. Tack on 300lbs of humans and another 200lbs misc that is still only 8600lbs.

This leaves a few questions:

  1. Are my assumptions and math correct?

  2. If they are correct, is there any reason to not get the optional 10,000 GVWR downgrade?

  3. Can anyone tell me the actual towing numbers of these trucks (in my mind, how much can it pull with something attached to a trailer hitch)

  4. Are there any downsides to a Duramax engine (longevity, repairability, etc)

  5. Anything else I should be thining about or should know?

Car alarm

Yesterday I put my FOB battery in my spare fob because the buttons wore out and today every time I lock my car the alarm goes off. I’ve tried unlocking the car manually with the key that didn’t work. Looked up stuff on google and none of that’s worked. Any idea?
