Anyone know if it's possible to modify the BCM to make the heated wheel come on with remote start? The seat already does so I'm amazed the wheel doesn't. 2017 Premier Hatch
My brother gave me his 2017 chevy cruze with 108,000 miles on it. He bought it in 2019 with 50k miles on it and to my knowledge he's never done a transmission fluid change. The cruze has been very reliable but he got another car. When I pull off when I first start it i think it's slipping a little and revs a little. Should I change the transmission fluid? I heard that if you've never changed the fluid in a car you should leave it alone past 100k.
My battery fuse box cables have a little bit of play in the them is that normal?
i stripped one of the e12 head bolts then continued stripping the everliving fuck out of it with the set of bolt extractors i’ve got aswell as trying to hammer on a smaller socket. at this point im thinking of buying the welder harbor freights got on sale right now for $150 and welding a nut on but was wondering if anyone had any other idea on what i could do
Driving back from thanksgiving with my daughter and the car threw an underboost code and lost most if not all its boost. This really sucked being I was going through the Appalachian mountains driving into a head wind and it was pretty cold (20 degrees) to boot. So it was down on power.
Suspect it is one of the following:
Any further suggestions? Car has around 190,000 miles on it.
Edit: Car is a 2014 1.4 2LT.
13 gen 1 1.4T Cruze LT with one hell of a tick. Anyone know the cause and if I’d need any repairs or if it’s normal? Just concerned by the noise, this was after a cold start and running for 20 minutes in Canadian weather (-15 to -20C) ticking doesn’t go away, but only really noticeable with hood open. If it needs repairs I can get them done but I’m just hoping I don’t need a head rebuild or something
I own a 2019 Cruze LT with 15,300 miles on it. Bought it from CarMax June 2023 with 6,000 miles, and has been a headache since. I got the impression it was a company car and it did a lot of local driving and sitting around for long periods before it got to me. Over the past year and a half I'm into repairs of about $3.5k, and ran into another issue that's going to cost $1.6k based on the Chevy quote. Interested in advice on whether I'm pre-disastered or if I picked up a lemon.
Every issue has started with the check engine light and "Engine Power Reduced" warning. First time I had to take it to Chevy was Sep 2024 (local shop said they couldn't fix it this time), which was a pcv valve. Now the issue is occurring again with Chevy recommending replacing the intercooler, however they aren't guaranteeing this will solve the issue and may be in for more repairs.
From reading this subreddit it seems common the 1.4T engines run into issues like this, however those problems seemed to pop up after much more road time. I'm completely outside of Chevy and CarMax warranties, so it's all out of pocket. Appreciate any thoughts on what to do.
After I replaced the Valve Cover (I used a Dorman) and did the PCV valve fix, the check engine light went off for over a week. Earlier this week, it came back on. After having it coded, it came back with the P0171 again. I checked the PCV Valve and the plug is still in there. I also checked the Valve cover and do not see any oil leaking. I also went ahead and checked the Vacum on the Valve cover, and it was not sucking air.
Anyone have any suggestions on what to look at next? I didn't replace the purge valve when I did the fix , but I would think if that was the issue, it would be a different code.
Turbo intercooler Inlet Hose
Quick q, does anyone know if this can be done without taking the front bumper off of the car? That and would oil leaking from this area and the upper hose (hose that goes to the throttle body and intake) be fixed with fixing those?
Once more, I'm tracing down a leak on this car. Lol. I had thought I had it fixed, but found the leak on the bottom and am changing out the hose (finally got it in), but I'm wondering if these + the oil leaks are related? No CEL's are throwing and no loss of power, but there is oil loss as I can see it pooling below the upper pipe (below the pipe, where it meets the throttle body) and also traces of oil where the lower pipe connects to the intercooler.
I have the pcv bypass kit on the car as well as no sounds to relate to issues with the pcv system. But it is a bit gunky in the pipes (moisture), this being after a long drive.
What kind of noise exactly are we looking for? Can anyone provide some kind of audio or video sample? I have a 2018 cruze and it runs smooth and quiet but I am hearing a very faint squeak, not sure where it comes from or if it's my imagination lol
Hi guys, so I just noticed that my car is making this noise. Even when off. Currently it’s been off for 1 minute and is still making this noise. Can anyone identify it? 2011 Chevy cruze
Ignore the wind lol, but earlier on my car started to do a grinding noise while driving any ideas? It’s mad annoying
I drive a 2017 and am getting a slight screech when I press the brakes that I'm HOPING is just me needing new pads. I see a lot of different options online, but I'm not sure what material or brand to really go with. What do you guys recommend? I take trips about 400mi away from home on the regular if that matters, so preferably something that'll last.
When I stop the car completely, the low oil pressure light turns on but when I accelerate it, the low oil pressure light is removed

If you need a new cat, may consider their downpipe / mid-pipe package could be cheaper and give you a little performance boost. All stainless, and replacement cat is <$300 for down the road since you'd have the downpipe.
For any tuned cars, the higher output coil pack is work it can keep running the stock plugs without getting spark blowout.
Hard to beat their coilovers in the face of megan/cheapo or even BC racing.
Big brake kit is worth it especially if you're going to need new front brakes, on sale $262 for the full front package uses camaro calipers.
Probably not a true cold start since it was sitting for only about 5 hours but ehh, felt like posting lol
Hello, my oil is at 2% it needs changed. I am a new car owner as well. Any tips and what i news to get?
Last night I replaced my OEM water outlet for this aluminum one from MITZONE and it just started leaking today and the plastic one was leaking from the same spot to, reason why I replaced but I noticed it only leaks when I first turn it on but once I drive for a couple it stop leaking? Any ideas?
Trying to get second opinions
Has anyone resealed their oil pan? If so, how was the job and rhe difficulty? I'm only worried about breaking bolts when I drop the cat. This is one of the reasons shops I've been to don't want to do the job. However, I'm tied of oil dripping everywhere and the smell of burning oil
90000 miles, one owner. The paint is a little worse for wear but that's just Arizona sun for ya
Hi all,
I have a 1.7td (open engine) 2012 Cruze. And I think it's great, vanilla, but cheap motoring.
The only problem it has is in cold weather it spews out white smoke that stinks of acrid unburnt diesel. The issue is intermittent in warmer weather- almost like an electrical fault. The smoke doesn't change when the engine is warm. The car always starts first time. Sometimes when it's having the smoke issue the idle climbs to around 1k and sounds lumpy.
Searching on Google just throws up results about cold starts- this will do it starting from hot if the weather is cold, under 5 degrees Celsius.
What could be the problem here?
Bought this car last year. No problems till about a month in. It looses power on hills and if passing. Gets a stutter and then misfire code. I've changed the plugs, coil pack, MAF, MAP, and purge solenoid, and the VVT solenoids. Still no change. Thinking fuel pump but really don't want to drop the tank. Any ideas?
