Be friendly to other users within the subreddit. It’s common courtesy guys, we’ve been having a lot of problems recently with people not following this rule. We’re all here for the same thing, to share our passion for chevy trucks. Don’t ruin in by being an asshole.
Only Chevy/gmc trucks. This one should be pretty obvious. Now you may ask yourself "why gmc trucks when this subreddit is called chevytrucks?" Well, i honestly think they are the same thing, just different styling. So i allow gmc trucks as well.
No trolling. This one is self explanatory.

I’m looking for an exhaust manifold from a chevy 216 1953. It’s been a pain trying to find it since no one makes it anymore and I’ve looked all over marketplace
Just got a truck for the first time a few months back (22 chevy colorado) and i live in a northern state. Today we are getting our first real snow storm and i just had a few questions about 4 wheel drive.
When stuck at a light or stop sign should I switch to 4 hi or lo?
I live in an apartment and our grades are pretty close together so I need to make a pretty sharp turn so I can reverse into it. Can I do this in 4 WD or no?
I have an auto option on my truck, when I use it, it just says it's in 4 hi and doesn't change. How do I know when it switches modes?
What's an absolute no no when it comes to 4 WD?
Thanks in advance.
Nephew gave me a RC muffler tip bc he decided he was going to redo full exhaust and doesn’t need it. I’m planning to just cut the tip off the end of the muffler to fit the tip on. Will it add any power or anything? I assume all it’ll do is change the sound. 93 c1500 4.3v6
2017 Silverado has a noise that sounds like a bad bearing. It doesn’t start right away, but rather after 2-3 minutes of driving. AC on/off makes no difference. It does follow the RPM of the engine, so it’s not some other component independent of the drive train.
I’m looking for the little lid that goes on top of this and I’m having trouble finding one. If anyone can find one or tell me what it’s called that will be good
Passenger side of my 04 Silverado. What trim piece is this? It’s broken and I need to get a new one but can’t seem to find it due to not knowing what it would be called
might get a 2006 1500
so i found this 06 1500 crew can that theyre willing to let go for 7000. 135k miles, double din radio, dropped (but i might lift it back). the only concern for me is the transmission and engine since those miles are kinda up there. and is there a way i can convert the rear drum brakes to discs? i hate drum brakes lol
Looking for opinions, inputs and reliability! I want to upgrade the bulbs for 2011 Silverado fog lights. However, I want a bulb that is dual color/ switchback. The functionality I am looking for is white led, then by turning the light off and on again, switches the led to yellow. I am looking at lasfit but that costs $100 so I want to make sure I get my money's worth. Any other brands that I am overlooking?
I was driving eastbound on the 40 when my Chevy g20 just shut off, I pulled over and tried to start it again and heard a misfire and now it won’t start, but it still cranks. It never overheated and has plenty of coolant and the oil looks fine. Any ideas as to what the issue might be ??

My heater is acting up and mostly not working. The fan sometimes comes on when truck gets started in the morning while cold. Get going down the road and heater peeters out. Will sound like the fan is dying till it’s out completely. Then nothing. No fan, just small remnants of heat coming from the vents. What’s my problem? Any guesses? Thanks! Truck has 107k miles. I changed the radiator fluid recently because I thought maybe something plugged or not flowing right. Probably should have changed the thermostat while doing that but didn’t.
Seems like the noise is coming from the distributor cap? I’m a amateur and you tube mechanic, any help would be appreciated
I have an 07 1500 LTZ package with heated, folding, motorized mirrors. I found an LTZ 07 3500 truck for part out locally. I’m trying to figure out if the tow mirrors from that truck (they appear factory) will fit my 1500. Does anybody know, or know how to find out?
Good evening all! I have a 2011 Chevrolet Colorado that has a 5.3l V8 from the factory, I currently took off my “dummy cats” and my muffler. And put 2 pipes in place of them, so I’m “straight piped.” My truck honestly isn’t loud. Somehow, it’s honestly kinda quiet. And it’s surprising. I want it louder, I’m thinking of taking the whole exhaust off, and doing true duals. I know it won’t really make a difference but I mainly want the look.
My truck is extremely rare, I know many don’t have them, but how can I make my truck louder? I love loud vehicles (Ikikik) and I want it even louder than is, what can I do? PSA: I’ve already asked every shop to take my primary cats off, but then cannot (legally) do that. Which I entirely understand. I do not have emissions and do not have to have them. Regardless, they said even if they had taken them off, they cannot tune it to get it to not have a check engine light and the cats are good to have atleast the primaries so I have back pressure. Someone help?
Just bought a 3500 with a factory installed fifth wheel/gooseneck prep. We’ll factory receiver for the goose ball is a circle. The B&W fifth wheel hitch I have it square. Anyone know if anyone makes an adapter for the hitch so I don’t have to sell either the prep or the hitch any help is appreciated (pic for attention)
I need to buy an axle flip kit but i dont want it breaking on me and i want to buy it for atleast under 80$ is there any that i can trust and buy it off of there for 80$ and reliable
Title pretty much says it all. In temps lower than about -4 or -5° C (≈ 25° F) I get no sound out of my speakers. System is entirely stock except an aftermarket stereo deck (bought the module to keep steering wheel controls etc.) head unit lights up and my phone can Bluetooth to it but no sound except for a clicking noise from the speakers. From what I’ve seen it’s likely a dead amp, seems pretty common. Is there any information available about the factory bose amp or is there an amp available to buy that is equivalent to the factory Bose that I can replace it with? Not looking to add a big sound system in the truck any time soon.
I know this is a long shot but I’m looking for a tag like the one in the picture to go on the passenger side of my boyfriend’s blazer. Long story short I took it to work and forgot to take off the tag before I left (he got it a few days ago and hasn’t properly installed it yet, it was just sitting there) anyways he says that was literally the only one he could find for sale online in a week of searching so I’m here in the hopes that someone out there has one they’d be willing to sell me, I would be forever grateful
My 04 tahoe recently had this code a week ago. I don't beat on it..only towed 800lbs with it. It has a aux transcooler that's about 3 months old, I just changed fluid , shift solenoid, and added a corvette servo after the code came up. I also tried resetting the pump, by unhooking the battery for 4 hrs. Any guesses what it could be. Trans only has about 30k on it.
I’m thinking about buying a round body 2500 with the 6.0 but it has a new computer and needs to be tuned how much do you think that would cost me and what would be the best tunes to get?
So i just bought a 2017 5.3 silverado its nice has a tune and a cold air intake 144k miles nice truck but i see a v4 mode makes the truck run like absolute trash and my MPG says 99 which is incredible
I have a 2018 gmc with a 5.3 liter, my battery started the truck just fine like it usually does in the driveway, I drove it to the gas station about 10 miles from home top it off with gas. The battery was drained and wouldn’t start, so would it be a battery or alternator problem?
Is this rod knock? Is my engine finished? I have a 4.8 and this is a cold start. I heard rod knock gets louder when you rev it so I did (hear video) and it stopped but then started again so I’m confused. Any Input would be great.
Hey y’all, I have a 2020 Silverado and for about 2 weeks now it jerks every time it switches gears.
Any idea what it can be?
