Be friendly to other users within the subreddit. It’s common courtesy guys, we’ve been having a lot of problems recently with people not following this rule. We’re all here for the same thing, to share our passion for chevy trucks. Don’t ruin in by being an asshole.
Only Chevy/gmc trucks. This one should be pretty obvious. Now you may ask yourself "why gmc trucks when this subreddit is called chevytrucks?" Well, i honestly think they are the same thing, just different styling. So i allow gmc trucks as well.
No trolling. This one is self explanatory.
NO ADVERTISING WITHOUT PERMISSION. If you would like to advertise something, Please contact a moderator and make sure it's OK first.

Absolutely NO POLITICS! This is a truck subreddit, not a place for you to share your political agenda. Anyone who does cause problems with politics will be banned.
Do not force your opinion on someone else. This rule could easily go with rule 1, but a lot of people don’t get this so it gets it’s own rule. If you have an opinion on something you don’t like, it is completely okay to share it if you would like, all we ask if that you be nice about it. If you’re an asshole your comment will be removed.

I had a low idle on cold start so I replaced the iac valve after I had a high idle when i downshift it doesn’t want to idle down and wants to increase in speed. I thought maybe my cable or plate was getting stuck so I cleaned the throttle body again and replace the tps sensor and still no luck. It happens mainly when at temp anyone got a solution?
i smacked a concrete barrier a few weeks ago and crushed my bumper mount a bit. the bumper itself still appears to be mostly straight. is this something i can fix myself, or do i have to take it to a body shop? i’m moderately handy as a mechanic but have never done anything remotely close to body work
Now that it’s getting cold outside there’s always a chance my diesel will die overnight unless I plug it in (It’s not always convenient where I park). Does anyone recommend a good jump pack for a diesel? Any amp levels you found were sufficient?
My dad owns a 1998 two door Tahoe with the 350 vortec (4WD) that's been sitting since 2018 and we are thinking of fixing her and get back on the road.
I already know the basics like oil, coolant, brakes, battery, tires.
Is there anything else I need to worry about that needs to be repaired? I really want to make sure that I do this right so any advice and tips would be appreciated.
So I found some seats at the junkyard but the driver seat back seems to be twisted can this be repaired ?
Truck did always take a few turns to get it to start but somedays it start right up
Hey guys, any idea what’s causing this oil leak on my 5.3 Silverado?
Hey everyone, as the title says, I am trying to figure out how to upgrade the headlights on my 89 Sierra k3500. Bought some some 9005/9006 led lights as it specified those would be correct for the make/model (they were wrong). Finally got around to taking the headlights off to find out they are all sealed units, has a strange two wire blade/pin connector (see attached) and the bulbs can not be changed.
I was curious if anyone else has ran into this issue, and what the solution was? Just trying to get a bit more illumination when driving at night.
do I need some type of conversion kit, or do I need to upgrade the wiring itself?
Hey everyone. I had a random thought and that was I’ve never seen a single cab round body come with both a v8 and a manual transmission. Did they have a manual transmission with a v8 option? Or just the v6?
I just bought a 1953-chevrolet-3100 and it is bagged. It has a mustang II front clip and the ball bearings are shot. How can I determine the ball bearing replacement if I don't have the year clip?
I drive a 99 Silverado that gets 16 mpg and with my commute I put 40 in the gas tank every two weeks which from what I’ve seen is low for trucks as a whole so I gotta wonder how yall drive these all over the place. I gotta commend yall cause as much as I adore the truck she drinks gas like a cigarette mom during happy hour
I've got an old 2002 1500 HD that is still super-reliable...except for one thing. The battery won't stay charged if the truck sits for more than a couple of days. I've been replacing the battery every few years because a new one does better, but clearly something is draining the battery when the truck just sits for a few days.
It's not a bad battery or an old battery as I've replaced it more than once and never permanently resolved the issue.
any ideas what might be doing this?
