Hab ich was vergessen? Wer hat Tips oder Einwände?

After 3 years I finally taught myself to drive stick again

I got in a really nasty accident 3 years ago. This resulted in me loosing feeling in both my legs below the knee. After two surgeries and 3 years of rehabilitation. I finally taught myself to drive stick again.

Not really any news but I thought I'd share. Here's the car E46

AWD or 4WD

Hey yall, I'm the furthest thing from a car guy and am in need of either a truck or SUV. Nothing special just something to do some work in, go in the woods, and that'll get me to work in inclement weather. My question is, what would be better? 4WD or AWD.

I dont go mudding or anything, but I do have some rough trails that have been washed and that I've slid in when muddy. We don't get a lot of snow here, but do get ice here and there, but my job is one of those where unless its really bad, they aint closing. I also dont tow really anything. What would y'all pick?

Is there a site that allows you to shop for wheels by number of spokes?

Or really even just a way to search for wheels by number of spokes and bolt pattern, OEMs included. I'm tired of scrolling dozens of pages of seemingly identical wheels looking for 4 spokes or tri spokes or 20-spokes.

Is it possible to find a car with just the key

Hello everyone. Recently my dad passed away and we were left with all his car keys(he has multiple) we know where basically all them are except for one. It's a mercedes amg key. That's all we know about it. We don't know about the license plate, ownership or anything just that we have the key.

What car to buy for first time driver

I have a budget of around 3000$ to buy my first car. I have my eyes on the Mazda MX5 of early 2000's, if I can get my hands on it I'll take it but I would really appreciate some recommendations for similar 100 horsepower cars

Might be a silly question, but what is this called on a car?

I’m looking to replace this outside trim part for the doors of the car I just bought, but I cannot find what they are called for the life of me.

Highest MPG I've ever gotten

https://preview.redd.it/l8k9qncja77d1.jpg?width=8000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c583d39a1a935ba1a7136c282875797306e66988

2014 Honda Civic. This is not a hybrid.

Trip A resets with ignition off, and the 15.4 miles is from work to home. You'll just have to take my word that I didn't reset it while coasting on the highway or something. That MPG also includes waiting at a long red light (no stop/start).

I drove with no AC, windows down, and went 60 MPH most of the way. Don't worry, I didn't hold anyone up, I just stayed behind a truck in the right lane.

Which hatchback would you say looks better than its sedan counterpart?

I recently saw a Peugeot 306 sedan for the first time and it made me realize how insanely different it can make a car look, the 306 hatchback almost looks like a completely different car to me.

I live in a European area where hatchbacks are definitely more common (it's like a 65/35 ratio) and i have yet to come across a hatch that looks better, I'm guessing it's more for practical reasons than it is for aesthetic ones

2017 car 21.000km

Hello everyone. I have to buy a new car and I can't spend much... today I saw a beautiful 2017 Fiat Panda turbo diesel 1.3 95hp, only 21,000km. Used by a dealer to take rides between employees. Price 9,900€.

Is it worth it? It is 2017, so it is 7 years old, but it is practically new as mileage (real, not rigged obvious). I would need it for small trips and someone bigger but not all the time.

What do you think? Aesthetically it is perfect.

First Car/Erstes Auto

I need a car and don't want to spend too much.

I was looking at a BMW E46 320i with about 220k km for ca. 2k Eur.

Is this a good pick, how is reliability, do you have any other recommendations?

How do you get to experience different types of cars for long term?

No one will allow you to test out their car for a few days to see in depth how it suits you, how it fits in your garage, how it is on long trips, etc, you might get a short test drive around the city, but that's nowhere near enough to tell anything, plus you might be in great mood, bad mood, the short route you drive on might have bad or very good road quality, which are all things that can affect your decision in those 10, 20, 30 minutes you have.

...so how do you actually get a more long term way to test out cars and be able to compare the cars yourself? Especially used ones that aren't offered on rentаcar places.

In my case living in a city in Europe, out of maybe 6 or 7 cars I've ever driven in my life, at least 4 or 5 were tiny A and B segment hatchbacks from early 2000's, mostly from friends and family, plus one was a BMW E46 316i sedan and another was a rental VW T-cross 1.0 tsi 115hp crossover, which is the only modern and raised car I drove.

Most reviews I've read about the T-cross for example weren't that great, cheap plastic, not that great handling, small, not that much storage (even though it's more than on the Golf, about whose storage no one complains?), but back when I first got into it, based on my experience, it felt like a space ship compared to early 2000 Punto's, Lupo's, Fiesta's and so on that I drove. The sound insulation and engine quietness stunned me (even though they are probably nothing special by modern standars, especially with a 3 cyl engine), everything felt solid and modern and the 10 second 0 to 100kmh felt like a rocket compared to my old VW Lupo's 17 seconds, it was even faster than the 12.5 sec on the 316i.

So if I was a buyer at that moment and had only 20, 30 minutes to decide, based on my non-existing experience, I'd probably get it and never know what I was missing on considering I could get for example a high trim Audi A3 8V or even a D segment car for the same money or less, but which I never drove.

Are rentаcars the only way dealing with this or is there another way?

BMW Rost

Hallo zusammen,

Was sind meine Möglichkeit bzgl.

if you covered your car in Chia seeds and let it grow until you made a Chia car/pet would it be street legal in any states in the USA?

so basically i saw a video of someone covering just the body and roof of their friends car in Chia seeds while they were on vacation, by the time they got home the Chia seeds had almost completely grown, making his car look almost like a jungle or field. as someone that loves nature and cars, i thought it actually looked beautiful and thought about doing it myself to one of my old beater cars. but I’m not sure if I’d legally be able to drive it, i live in New England, Massachusetts to be exact. could anyone let me know if I’d be able to drive a car like this around without getting pulled over and getting tickets and/or having the car towed??? any advice is appreciated as I’m lowkey super excited to try this out, but I won’t follow through unless I’d be able to legally drive it and flex it whenever I’d like. 😂😂

also i have a picture of what the car looks like on my profile for anyone who’s curious!

Which of these SUV's is best?

I have an 05 Hyundai Tucson 4wd right now. It's got high miles and I've put a lot of money into stuff that has failed or rusted. I'm looking for a different SUV to buy. I go hiking a lot and some trails are on rough backroads, my car has made it fine. I need something that won't have a problem making it through some rough terrain occasionally. I've been thinking about a Ford Escape, from the 2009 to 2012 years. There's some good deals on those and some get 23 mpg combined
There's also some good deals on some 2011 Mitsubishi Outlanders. I almost bought a Nissan Xterra once but the one I looked at was in rough condition. I know they could do well on some of the roads I go on, but someone said they only get like 15 mpg.

Out of these 3 SUV's, which one is better/more reliable? Which one would you suggest? Any advice? Thanks!

Is a serial number and a VIN the same thing on older vehicles?

Have a 1970 International dump truck and and I'm trying to find a VIN. Don't have the title, and I've looked in all the usual spots (bottom of windshield, door jams, firewall). All I've found is this tag on the door jam with a serial number.

My engine makes noise like a marble ball rattling

Hi, so I have the problem that when I drive in my 1 and 2nd gear, that my engine makes like a little marble ball sound, like it's rattling when I speed to change into the next gear. Once I drive keep the tempo it doesn't make any noise also up to the 4th gear I don't hear any rattling anymore. What could that be?

Selling a cheap car is the worst.

So I’m in the process of selling an older (2009) beater car, and it has to be one of the most frustrating ordeals I have ever gone through. I wish I could just scrap it and be done but I could really use as much cash as possible. While it has a few problems it still runs and drives and is in somewhat decent condition, the kicked is I’m only asking €1500 for the thing and realistically I’ll take 1200. I’ve had to answer about 750,000 (okay exaggeration, maybe 100 or so) messages and have had multiple people look at it and they act shocked when there are a few dents and the paint isn’t perfect and it has a small oil leak, which was all explained in the ad.

I was expecting this thing to be an easy sell and it to be gone, but this has turned into an hours long project and a real pain in the ass.

Sorry, rant over
