Hey team.
I posted a while back about shipping my car from the southwest coast to the northeast coast, as I moved for work. I moved, but left my car in storage because my situation wasn’t suitable to ship OR drive it at the time.
Now, it’s time to bring my baby back to me. I’m preparing to drive it myself, but I have to do the trip in 3/4 days (13-16hrs per day). It’s a drive I’ve done several times in an SUV, but this will be the first time I do it in my vette. Although I want it to be enjoyable, this is not a “for fun” cross-country trip - it’s a drive that I need to be efficient, safe, and cost effective.
Everyone always prefers Touring over Eco because, “If I wanted a V4, I wouldn’t have gotten a corvette”. But for my purposes, it makes sense to do this trip in Eco over Touring right? Can I expect to save a reasonable amount in gas doing this cross-country trip? Or should I just do Touring the whole way?
Anyone in Houston trying to get rid of an aftermarket exhaust and or a set of black wheels for a 16 stingray? Hmu
I just got ahold of my family corvette which is a 2002 c5 in bright torch red. And immediately I noticed people complimenting and admiring my car. Even c6 drivers were giving me their respect too, at one point even a brand new c8 corvette gave me a honk to acknowledge my older generation is it just me or do other people get as many compliments as I do in my corvette even from other corvette owners who own newer generations?
I am thinking of buying a c7 stingray z51 2LT and I heard the c7 grand sport is basically the z51 but it has a wide body, bigger brakes and wider tires.
Is there any other notable differences
I want to get the varama intake but i was reading a few post of people saying it soaks up water easy has anyone had a problem with it soaking up water or hydrolocking your engine?
Hello, found an older c6 z06 for sale. Has really low miles, and is hardly driven.. Owner says he put about a 1000 miles in 3-4 years but has not changed the oil or done any other maintenance since he got the car. Car has no mods, other than a tune.
What are you thoughts?
Rounding up. But she looks brand new off the line.
My c5 corvette had been my daily and I’m looking to get some snow tires for it soon, what’s an affordable option that yall recommend?
This Wednesday, my 2008 C6 started making a buzzing sound when going above 65MPH. Any ideas what it could be? Thanks in advance

Here we go again
I bought the car in June 2024, and it was driving amazing! However, around September 2024, it did not start randomly. I tried to wiggle the key and turn it again, and it started. After that, the problem only increased, and I was having this issue over and over more often. One day, it won't start even when I tried for 20 minutes turning the key.
P.S. The Battery is fresh and good, with normal voltage. When I try to start it nothing happens. I only hear the fuses and relay click in the fuse box and how the fuel pump works. Nothing under the hood, completely.
I push-started it and got it up on the jack. Access to a starter is tough from the jack especially when headers are hot. What I've seen is that copper starter contacts were greenish but were not able to clean them. I took apart the clutch button and cleaned the contacts in it. The car was starting up for a couple of days but happened again. I bought the new button - the same thing. Replaced all fuses in the passenger fuse box which are related to the ignition. Took apart ignition switch and cleaned contacts in it. So when I do something to the car it starts up fine for a while but it's happening over and over again. When my mechanic did my alignment I asked them to tighten the starter contacts and NO WAY! Car was starting good for a month and guess what? Some day it did not start again. This is my daily driver and only car. Every morning I sit in the car and turn the key on and on until it cranks (usually taking 10-15min).
My mechanic suggested I get a new starter but I don't want to throw parts in it yet.
Easy solution: replace the starter or its solenoid with the new one and see what happens. + Throw new ignition switch
But if you have an idea what to check first I would appreciate it. I wish I had a car lift to take care of it myself and do some kind of diagnostics. Need to figure it out asap.
IMPORTANT: the weirdest thing here is that the car starts with no problem when it's hot! ex: When doing cold start I am turning the key until it starts. But after 20 minutes drive I turn the car off and try to start it again immediately it works! you can start it multiple times when it's hot as much as you want and works with no issues.
Please help me with any suggestions
I can drop any videos/pictures if you need them. Thank you for everybody's help.
Also: any recommendations for the car shop that specify in the corvettes specifically around Chicago and suburbs would be appreciated
2000 corvette bought it last night, thought it had a slave cylinder issue.
25 year old paint but still looks great! Last wash before it gets too cold and gotta sideline it. Didn't wear my New Balances today though.

First attempt of clear coating lexan targa top with a rattle can product called Diamond Clear . Failed. Could keep sweet edge and found out it doesn't even have hardner but besides that it was awful. After hours of sanding this product off I went with a quart of urethane clear and pint of hardener called Nasonseletawesomeproduct
...here we go again!!
...here we go again!!
..the beginnings of sanding all the clear and Lexacoat of targa top.
...it's gotta get better!!
First attempt to fix orig lexan top. Sanded with 500&1000grit and sprayed Mason Select Urethane clear coat and went on really good 2wet coats but didn't clean my gun for first use out of box and got hundreds of fisheyes from oil in gun or something and a huge sag. So I sanded the clear down to remove fish eyes. And tried again only to not getting all fisheyes removed and second spray job of clear was horrible, orange peel dry etc
Highly recommend this product if you are reapiring lexan or paint work
After sanding original coating with 500grit and then spraying Mason Urethane clear coat there was problem with sanding thru the Lexacoat. Couldn't see it from topside but from underneath it was awful. So here is the beggings of alot of hours of sanding to get it to back to asclose to orig as possible.
