Made the leap. I love it!
I’m looking at buying a 1978/25 anniversary Corvette C3 or a 1980 C3 and then I’m looking at getting a 1999 C5 I want to get the c3 as a tribute to my grandfather who used to own one for a while for about 20+ years I think but he passed away about four years ago now and I want to get one as a tribute to him and a 99 C5 is just for fun whats yalls thoughts?
Couldn’t stand the chrome lip on the stock wheels. I used vinyl to cover but it started to peel.
Want something loud, but still sounds good.
Been looking at the borla ATAK for this car but don't know if there's anything better out there that sounds like it
Has anyone traded in their c7 grand sport for a c8 z06? If so what are your thoughts?
Dealer is offering me 52k as a trade in (2017 Gs 14k miles — was 79k msrp, purchased for 66k)
Appreciate any advice especially with respect to depreciation going forward etc..
Also, is it worth waiting for future discounts on the z06 (similar to the one we got on the GS back in 17’)?
Not many options near me is 68k to much they said they may come down some what would you pay? Admiral blue 2lz
2004 c5
Will crank up and idle just fine, will free rev and sounds fine.
As soon as you go to drive it it drops 2-3 cylinders.
Sometimes low power mode but sometimes not.
Sometimes throttle body code sometimes not.
If you disconnect battery and clear codes and refire it will rev fine again.
Replaced wiring harness and ecm, and I have a new throttle body coming over soon.
Anyone had a similar experience and were able to rectify it?
So based one the link bellow I have a 1984 - to E1986 Targa Top and windshield mounting brackets are the correct one that correspond to the right targa top. The only thing that is different as far as i can tell are the back brackets which dont sit in all the way unless I torque it in. I was able to torque three of the 4 bolts and while I do not plan to drive this on the highway nor do i plan to take this car on the track where i could run the possibility of driving so fast that the T-Top would fly off id like the security of knowing that all four bolts are in.
Any ideas why it might not be sitting properly? in addition to this Looking at where the last bolt goes in. Its slightly off barely and the very tip of the bolt goes in but since its off center the bolt threads dont bit and just infinitely spin when tightening. while i did get 3 bolts in it took quite a bit of effort.
Is there a way to move the hole in the targa top or would i have to move the mounting bracket?
I'm looking at getting a C6 GS for a trackable daily driver. What kind of tire life are people getting out of 200TW tires like the conti ECF?
For context, I'm a former spec Miata racer and instructor.
Does anybody know what year this would be from? I cannot find a match online that has the same red flag design.
I was thinking about getting a 2011 grand sport soon and wanted to see if anyone had any issues with them. Also, the one I was looking at is ~$30k with 20k miles on it. Clean vehicle history. Is that a good price?
Last Saturday, exactly a week ago from today. I bought this car at Barrett Jackson. Super special moment for me as I’ve never owned a car of this kind caliber before, it healed the damaged inner child in me. Brand new ‘24 3LZ
Anyone have a Black 6 Speed for sale? No verts. Higher mileage is okay, willing to travel. $10k~
Glad to see it still getting used and abused on track.
You can hear more in the beginning and the end. I suspect it’s the a tensioner along with the belt and the belt is slipping or worse, a bad harmonic balancer. I ordered an AC Delco tensioner and belt and will be tackling it on Sunday afternoon…. Will update and hope that’s the fix
I have sat in c7 z06 many times and keep finding that I feel like I sit too high and abstain from purchasing. This is year three I'm coming back around. What have you done to correct this feeling? Am I just overreacting? Will I get used to it? I'm 6'1 220lbs, which i don't believe is overly large for these cars. I fit easily getting in and out, the power is intoxicating and I love driving it.
I'm ready to make the jump to try it long term via purchase, but if I could hear or garner some reassurance that it becomes more livable as I get used to it, it would make me feel better. What say you corvette community? Is there a mod worth doing to swap seats out that would still allow my wife to reposition and drive it when I commandeer our truck?
Is this the death of a balancer, or is this something else? I’m not super mechanically savvy, but I daily drive a C6 I’ve had for a little over a year now. I’ve only reason starting hearing a squeal, and this is the first time I’ve seen any belt wobble, or anything
I want to install an Escort 360 radar detector in my 5Z and I dont want to use the 12v lighter plug and have to unplug it every time I get out of the car. Currently planning to use an add-a-fuse, just curious if anyone else has done that. If so, what fuse would be a good one to use?
