I have a subwoofer box in the rear of my Jimmy and am looking to get rid of it and free up some space. I have ideas for down the road, but for right now I just want something (preferably unpowered since I already have an amp) that’ll fit nicely under the driver side seat. I’ve done a quick search and everything I find is powered.
Running and top off for first time in over a decade
Anyone here have a roof rack installed that they’d recommend? I am in need of a little more capacity and would also love to throw the kayaks up there every so often.
Bonus question: if it’s mounted really well with ridiculously oversized hardware, would it be safe to use the roof rack to lift the shell off of the back? I’m thinking no, but just curious.

I made this one for a t-shirt. Looks best on black if you make one from this graphic.
I have a 1985 K5 4WD. It is in great shape with a newer LS 5.3 engine. Could I realistically take this sucker off roading on rough terrain? Or would stuff just start breaking? I am concerned about the frame or suspension breaking with any sort of aggressive off roading.
Hello, I recently wanted to get into 4x4 and really like both these trucks. I wanna get your opinions and whatever else you have to say on both.
Firstly, I plan on sharing this to both subreddits to get opinions from both of yall. And might actually post this on a projects car Reddit too.
I want a 4x4 that is good enough for crawling in Oregon/New Mexico desert (wildly different climates but where I go/live most often). This will probably be more of a weekend rig if anything as I have my daily set and is mostly reliable. But I would want a lift and maybe 33s or 35s max on the truck. Would this be attainable?
I would like any and every opinion you have on both trucks if possible. Good, bad, ugly. I don’t care, I’m willing to put up with a lot since I don’t mind putting time effort and money (let’s be reasonable with the money aspect lol) into a new to me vehicle.
Thank you for hearing me out :)
I am missing some bolts to secure the top and side rails, and some get constantly loose. Can someone please provide a link to where I can buy replacement bolts, or at least their specifications?
I went by Home Depot but wasn't able to match them. thanks!
Kinda new to Reddit , so I was wondering if there was a page dedicated to swapping or wtb truck parts specifically k5 for me right now , figured it’s kind of inappropriate to just blast a wtb ad on the regular page .. ?
My 74 Blazer has some severe cancer. Pretty much I don't think the Body is really salvageable though I do know that if you are willing to eek out all the rot it can be fixed.
What I am wondering is what do you folks think of getting a full fiberglass body? There is a company in Florida that makes them for a little over $10K. Considering the level of rot on mine, I am pretty sure it could cost me an easy 10K just in materials, then all the labor anyways.
87 with a 305
First, I had a 75 that took me from Hot Rodding to Off Roading and never looking back.
Next was a 72 that I can't believe I sold so I could go to College in the 80's.
Now I have a 74 that I have had for almost 22 years. While the body is just about toast, the engine, drive train and suspension and frame is all solid. I do have the top.
I moved to TN about 4 years ago. Took the top off and for me, it doesn't get cold enough to put it back on. Downside, down here there is not enough snow and too much clay and rocks. Not really setup for it.
I’ve checked all the big sites, summit, jegs, LMC, they all have universal kits but none that have the ends already attached, sounds lazy but also saves a ton of time. I just don’t know if I’m wasting my time looking or if they are out there somewhere thanks!
May not been pretty but she has great oil pressure!
I am looking for the O-ring which fits between the transmission and the transfer case adapter. 1972 K5 4WD Turbo 350 to NP205. Any help would be much appreciated.
(EDIT) thank you all for your input, it completely slipped my mind that this could also just be a tail-shaft seal. I found mine on summit. Part Number- ADD-716511
Looking for original bug deflector. And originalsteering wheel. Facebook marketplace is a loss. Anyone know where I could get one. I'll pay top dollar.
