1981 GMC Jimmy. Rear seat brackets bent

So I think I should have lubed the brackets when I first tried to push the rear seat forward in the folded position, because I forced it and bent the brackets. My question is... Do i even really need those brackets or is the seat secure enough with the rear latch only? I know i can probably take these off and get them pounded back to normal, but just trying to see, because I've noticed pictures of other blazers/jimmys without them.

K5 blazer 4in lift questions

I 17 bought my first obs chevy a 1980 k5 blazer I picked up a used front and rear suspension lift with leafspring lifts and shocks for a c10 from rancho. What else is needed to put the lift in. I have my u bolts and everything but do I need to extend driveshafts or change anything with the steering? The front end is loose in the steering so should I do drag links and tiered ends before the lift? I'm not familiar with obs chevys or solid axle front ends. Tldr I don't know shi

14 Bolt FF drum issue

Just picked up a square 14 bolt FF rear today for my 84 K5. I'm attempting to pull the drums off and having a hell of a time. The brakes seem to be stuck. Any ideas??? Really not wanting to cut the drums off.

If I get this bolt off will the pads and cylinder come off with the drum???

Hinges for back glass??

I want to use the back glass in my 87 k5 as a folding window that hinges upward on gas shocks like a modern truck topper. My current tailgate is completely shot, and replacements for the blazer aren't easy to come by. Also I would rather have a tailgate with embossed stamped lettering instead of the chrome plate trim, and potentially having folding windows on the sides and rear would be the ultimate goal.

I need hinges that will "pinch" the window instead of a drilled hole (unless you can recommend me an elusive tempered glass drilling genie) and recommendations for attaching the hinges to the fiberglass top. Will also need weatherstripping, bottom rail with a lock, and shocks + shock hardware. Think I can put this together with some creativity and a few hardware store trips? I have welding and fabricating equipment for a new bumper + tire rack but I want to hear some opinions. Also considering lexan or plexi instead of original tempered window but someone will have to buy it from me before I ruin it

Aftermarket seats for 83’!

I am in the process of having my 83’ K5 restored. I want to add some comfortable seats. Has anyone had any luck with seats from other vehicles that were rather easy to use?

Roof and window frame transplant

Hi

I need to replace the roof and the front window frame because of rust. I have a donor car with a completely gone underbody, but the roof and window frames are worth to transplant. Any ideas on how to proceed? I thought about cutting /drilling out spotwelds at the B pillar. In the front, I think I'll drill out the spot welds at the firewall. The thing I am not sure about is how I should proceed with the A pillar. Should I just cut right through it? Are there pieces that are just spotwelded together so that it is easier to keep all the measurings in place?

Donor car

Hello all,

I have a ‘79 with a seized 350 in it. My dad and I were looking at modern vehicles that could be donors for nearly everything. We landed on a 2012 Camaro LS… we can get it for relatively cheap. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with donor cars, what to take what not to take, and if this sounds like a good choice. If not what’s a better one? Thanks!

Just curious

Curious about some different ways sound systems are being ran, what’s your setup? How did you place subs? Different boxes? Etc.
