hey i havent used plastidip at all yet but im trying to learn more so i can paint part of my car myself. im looking for a pink plastidip but the only one on the website is NEON pink but i see people online using just regular bubble gum pinks. does the website rotate or anything like that or am i only able to get the absolute NEON of neon pinks? where can i find just a pretty non-eyesore pink 😞
As title says, my rims feel rubbery after 5 coats glossy black and 2 coats glossifier. I expected it to be alot less rubbery. It feels as though dirt can very easily attach to this rubbery later. Is this normal?
I warmed the cans up before usage.
I decided to plasti dip my rims for mazda cx30. I'm overthinking at this point since my only plan was putting garbage bags for brakes&caliper and spray. Peeling from the rubber become concerning since I saw people using cards and all that? Some saying it can be peeled easily by hand? I saw people putting bags everywhere of their car to prevent over spray. How important are all that? Is it that complicated?
About to do my first dip on a sedan, and I'm wondering what I should do with the spray gun between dips? Following DipYourCar's tutorial, they said each coat needs to dry fully for ~30-40 between coats, but didn't specify what to do with the spray gun in that down time.
I'm not sure if I should be cleaning the gun out in the downtime between coats to prevent it from drying/clogging. Or if it should be good to keep the gun prepped, and just clean it once at the end?
This color is so amazing. The camera seems to blend the colors together a bit but the shift in person is wild. I can't stop looking at it.
I dipped parts of my motorcycle and I'm wondering now if it would be feasible to also dip the whole tank. My concern is that it would wear off because I permanently touch the tank with my motorcycle pants, that are much more heavy duty than normal jeans or whatever. So would that make sense would it wear off too fast?
I saw a video a while back of a someone who spray painted his tires on the tread. It looked pretty bad but after driving it a while only the inside of the tread was colored. The tread that touched the pavement was back to black and looked good in my opinion. Would plastidip spray work for this? What color would you use on white truck?
It's been past 24 hours already. Sorry the video is blurry but I think you can see what I'm trying to capture. It just doesn't dry
If I have 2-3 year old plastidip on the car already with some road debris damage, can I paint over it and somehow blend so it doesn't stand out against old plastidip?
I know that simply painting over will show, I'm curious if there are any methods or chemicals to help blending.

Hi, I have 056 Natural White old Toyota where paint is in decent shape but just old. I want to plasti dip only bumpers and fender flares. What's the best approach to make it look as close as possible to the rest of the car?
Want to mod my car externally but need a cheap paint fix would this work? My car has sun damage
I just did my whole SUV with camo green but it seems super porous. I know from doing rims flat black it takes a few weeks to cure. But I got birds all over the place. Does anyone know how to clean bird crap off of flat Plastidip? I'd really appreciate it I just don't want to screw this up.
I am the proud owner of a Mia Electric, a tiny electric car from the "new mobility" craze in 2012. They only came in boring white, textured versions that faked CFRP or brushed aluminium, and partially wrapped versions. Mine is the boring white panel van version, and I want to protect the original finish and give it some colour.
However, the body panels of all Mia's is made from vacuformed panels that are a sandwich of ABS with a veneer of PMMA for UV stability and shine. I can't seem to find a lot of compatibility information regarding what, if any, the influence of Plastidip is on PMMA surfaces.
So, has anyone here ever plastidipped PMMA? Did anything surprising happen? How long was it on for?
