Hi, are there any fresh water showers on pralin at any of the beaches that are free to use? Or even pay to use to use?
We're catching the 5.30pm ferry to mahe and then will rush to get to the airport to get a flight at 8.45pm... hoping to freshen up after a full day's activities before getting on the ferry to mahe
Hi. With my my wife already booked a trip to Seychelles at the and of March. I was thinking about taking a ferry to Praslin but she might be pregnant at that time for about 4 months. Do yo think it's good to travel by ferry?
Hello,
I am a 25 year old female from the USA, and my mother is from the Seychelles, and she originally moved to Norway, before moving to the USA. I was born and raised in the USA, but I have Norwegian and American citizenship through my Norwegian father. I never acquired Seychellois citizenship, but I am interested in moving there after taking a vacation a few months ago.
I have a Bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Utah and a master's degree in business administration from the same university. I also have several IT certifications from Microsoft. I'm currently working as an IT analyst for a small company in Chicago. Are any of these skills in demand in the Seychelles, and would any employer potentially sponsor me? I also have the opportunity to do remote work with my skillset, so would that be an easier way to emigrate? Any tips and help would be appreciated.
We are visiting in january and i'd like to do some night and Astro photography, we are mostly on Mahe
Any one who can recommend some spots?
Are there any remote beaches without much light polution? Looking at Google maps/Earth it looks like most have some hotel/resorts.
I am not confident i'd want to be in the Mountains/forests at night, most online guides explicitly say not to
Thanks in advance to everyone!
So tomorrow I’m arriving in La digue, is anybody keen on joining a deep sea fishing adventure ? Or maybe anybody has specific recommendations concerning a company I should go with?

Looking for recommendations on how to divide 8 nights between the three locations? Was thinking about doing 4 nights praslin, 3 nights la digue, 1 night Mahe. Does this seem like it will give us a good experience and use our time wisely while we are there? Will arrive late November.

I’m visiting Seychelles for the next few weeks and I like to get tattoos for every place I visit with some tie to the countries folklore and tales. I’m not finding a lot of info online about any folklore about like cool gods or myths or anything. If anyone has any info on that that would be great! Also if anyone knows of any good cheap local artists let me know :)

Hello, I wanted to know if anyone knew whether it was safe to go for a run on Mahe? I’m heading out for a few weeks and will be staying in a house rental village, but was wondering if anyone had any experience of off-road running or running along beaches as a lone female? Currently training for a marathon so don’t want to stop running altogether but wouldn’t go crazy distances. Thanks!
I will be traveling to Mahe, La Digue, and Praslin from November 20-December 3rd. Looking for suggestions on towns to stay based on the time of year, seaweed patterns, etc? Not sure where to start so hoping some locals or experienced travelers can help! Thank you so much.
Hi,
My family and i want to go to the Seychelles next year, we were wondering which month will be best. Our options are April, July or August.
Hi everyone,
I'm planning a trip to Seychelles 2025, either June or August for 3 weeks. I will be staying on La Digue, Praslin and Mahe for a week at each. Which months to recommend? I read that both June and August can be really windy in the dry sesson. Which side of the islands are the calmest/ less windy during these periods? I enjoy swimming and water activities in general.

Hello fellow travelers!
Our departure day is Nov 09, Saturday. We need to get from Praslin to Mahe on that day. To get our Turkish airline flight out at 20:45. But there's a thing with the ferry connections. There's no what really suits me. Either you leave at 8:00 in the morning and don't know what to do all thay in Victoria with your suitcase under the arm or you leave late at 17:00 and risk to be late for your flight as you might be at the airport only by 19:30-ish. What would you do? Any idea how I can make most of that da? Cheers and thanks in advance 😘😘
We will be honeymooning in Mahe in 2 weeks and are looking to do a short 1-2h photoshoot. Any recommendations for a photographer that would be willing to do something short? Thanks!
Also interested in any recs for photoshoot locations on beaches :)
due to unforeseen circumstances have to cut short the Mahe leg of the trip
looking for information on good one day tour options which will cover all the main points
at the end of October
I visited the Seychelles as a child in the 1980's. My family was living in the UK at the time, but I have long since moved back to the US. While we were there, we discovered the local Seychellois loose leaf tea that had chunks of vanilla pod in it. We brought a suitcase load home, and carefully rationed it out for almost a year. It is still remembered fondly at family gatherings.
I think it is still made, under the brand SeyTé vanilla. I can't find an importer anywhere. eBay doesn't have it. I went so far as to ask the Seychelles Tourism board who to talk to. They directed me to STC Marketing (which I think is the government owned Seychelles Trading Company). Even they don't ship.
I'm looking for someone I can pay by credit card or PayPal who can stick a few packets in a DHL box and sent to me. Preferably a company, but beggars can't be choosers.
Does anyone have any leads/contacts/ideas?
I'm going to be visiting Seychelles, and the B&B I'm staying at much prefers getting payment in local cash.
My bank here doesn't have SCR as a currency they can order, and I'm reading that various "currency conversion" places have REALLY high markup.
If I can't find a place with good rates in the US, I'm leaning towards getting cash out of the ATMs at the airport when I get there, but I worry about:
Any tips here? Places to look in the US before my trip, or thoughts on relying on the airport ATMs for the initial full hotel payment?
Thanks!
What and when is it? The posters don’t have a date. Thanks!
Hi. We are getting into Mahe on an afternoon ferry from Le Digue. We need to stay somewhere for one night that will store our luggage, let us use the pool (and possibly has a pool shower) before our evening flight home the next day. We are on a budget and don’t want to pay for late check out. We won’t have a car do need to budget in taxis. Any help appreciated.
Hi I plan to travel here with my bf for a romantic getaway and was wondering how often it rains during this time and how heavy? I’m looking for lots of sunshine and not much rain. Brief periods of rain is fine but I’m hoping it’s not cloudy with heavy rain the whole day.
