The humanitarian crisis in South Sudan is intensifying, with hunger and cholera creating severe challenges for its people. Over half of South Sudan’s population now faces ‘crisis-level’ hunger, compounded by ongoing economic instability, high food prices, and lack of funds for aid distribution.
With the influx of refugees from Sudan and continued conflict, conditions worsen daily. How can the international community better support South Sudan to prevent further suffering?

THIS IS NOT A NEWS POST
I am Ethiopian diaspora but my father lived in Sudan for a decade before coming to the US. It hurts my heart seeing women killing themselves to avoid rape. I was also wondering is the RSF considered the " bad guys " while the SAF are the better option or are they both bad options. Is one group winning the war right now?
I've been thinking about the "official channels" for news coming out of Sudan. I've known for a while that we get our news a little differently than other countries that have the privilege of free press, or at least don't have to worry about being in a crossfire to report something. When someone asked in a previous post about whether the news (about the women who committed mass suicide out of fear of sexual assault) was actually confirmed beyond a social media post, I was a bit confused at first because my idea of decent press in Sudan at the moment IS the community activists on social media. In an active war where the movement of people (and journalists) is compromised, a resident getting on social media to convey an event doesn't seem that different from a news outlet taking that same primary source and reporting it (like the BBC did with that story). It can still be alleged but you take several statements if you can and report as something that people said they witnessed because journalists are not omniscient and take people's statements all the time. I guess people are worried about fake or exaggerated news..
What are your thoughts when you share something related to what's happening in Sudan and people question it because it's "just social media" meaning zero validity.

If so why? I feel like a lot of the Sudanese people are split on this point of view.
I'm sick of my super twisted hair , I wanted softer like curlier or even really soft like just straight or silky, no harmful products or استشوار only share your pleasant experiences or warnings thank you much love xo
Pasted by the Sounds of Sudan on YouTube :)
Inn Shaa Allah after this nightmare is over and we start working on rebuilding Sudan, we must prioritize the banning of beauty products that bleach the skin!
I’d say we even make it illegal. I’m not sure if that’s even a legal thing to do hahaha, I sure hope there is a more effective method.
This point doesn’t even need any justification, does it ?
Not only is it Haram, it’s also extreme harmful, both to physical and mental health.
It’s been and sadly is still perpetuating racism, tribalism and self-hate.
It has long created completely unrealistic beauty standards for a lot of men, destroyed millions of women’s self esteem and successfully created generations of Sudanese who hate the ideal image of The Sudanese Woman.
I know a lot of people already take this issue seriously, Alhamdulillah, but we must do a lot more to ensure this destructive practice comes to an end.
It might be a little late for some of us, but we still have time to protect the youth.
These stories are disturbing to say the least. But the world needs to know what's happening in Sudan. Numbers and statistics alone cannot convey the full extent of the horror our people are facing, we need to tell their stories.
That's it, may he rot in eternal hell
Pour yourself some shai and lean back in that angareb, because rule 2 is suspended, so you can express your opinions, promote your art, talk about your personal lives, shitpost, complain, etc. even if it has nothing to do with Sudan or the sub. Or do nothing at all. على كيفك يا زول
i recently learned that they are the biggest financial ally and are the sole reason they are still standing which made me wonder why they are even helping out?
