I live abroad and while I love watching the news I do appreciate reading articles too. So if anyone knows anywhere I could read recent news, mostly politics, I would appreciate.
Hi, I am so fortunate to be going to Madagascar for 2 months. I will be doing some work there in the daytime and otherwise travelling. I have been notified that the place I'm staying can suffer from outages because of the rain season. Affecting both power and internet. Also I am not really sure about the bandwith there. Seeing as Starlink is available, maybe I should just get this to be safe? Any thoughts?
Hi all,
I'm looking for information from Malagasy citizens who recently applied for a passport. I'm an America volunteer, but I will be helping a Malagasy teenager get a passport for a travel opportunity abroad next month. Can anyone share their experience applying for a passport in Madagascar? How long did it take from application to passport? Was it simple, or was it a nightmare? Any tips or suggestions for us?
Thank you.
Hello, I want to take care about lemurs at some reservation place or captivity in Madagascar. Is there some volunteer programs for this? Short term couple of weeks or months.
Hi,
I want to get a tattoo about Madagascar and I was wondering if we have traditional tattoos like Polynesian or smthg ? And I can't find any good references online about it ...
Thank you!
I've always wondered this but no one has enlightened me about it to this day
Hi!
Hello, has anyone travelled with Tsiky Tour, Mada Sky, Maskar or Jao Malazo?
If so, what are your impressions?
Also, do you usually have both a driver and a guide with you?
Thanks!
Tsy misy takila be amin’ny Wikipedia gasy, fa Wikibolana malagasy no Wikibolana fahefatra-fahadimy. Tsy fantatro fa nahoana.
(English) Why is there so much definitions in Malagasy Wiktionary ? There are not many Wikipedia pages in Malagasy, but the Wikibolana is the fourth or fifth wiktionary. I don’t know why
Btw feel free to correct me on my Malagasy

Hello, I would like to meet Malagasy people living in France.
If any of you can help me make a purchase on Leboncoin, that would be very kind. Don't hesitate to contact me, it will also be an opportunity to get to know each other!
Thank you in advance!
Hello, yesterday I was talking to someone who recommended joining a hiking group called “H” ? for short to medium hikes close to Tana. Does anyone know this group ? I didnt find it on Facebook but apparently is a group that is quite organized and popular. If not, any recommendations :)?
Thanks in advance !
Hi everyone!
I’m planning my honeymoon in Madagascar this August, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on our 14-day itinerary. Before arriving in Antananarivo, we’ll spend 4 days in Nosy Be to relax and enjoy the beaches. For the rest of the trip, we’ll be traveling with a driver to make things easier.
Here’s the plan for the rest of the trip:
Day 1:
Day 2:
Day 3:
Day 4:
Day 5:
Day 6:
Day 7:
Day 8:
Day 9:
Day 10:
Day 11:
Day 12:
Day 13:
Day 14:
What do you think of this itinerary? Would you change anything? Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! 😊
Hey y’all!! Looking for local Pokemon go players out here in this region! Is the game any good out there?
I recently joined Starlink but at registration I selected the wrong adress and it registered me outside of Tana. Now that I try changing the address to Tana, I get a message that Starlink has reached full capacity in Tana and that it is not available atm in my area. Does anyone have an idea of how long it takes for capacity to increase / new spots to be available for registration? I might need to change provider if it turns out it takes months! Thank you!!
I heard that there might be some unhappiness and potential political instabilities in Antananarivo. Also my wife's family told us, a Taxi Driver was shot and the tourist passenger robbed.
Did you hear about those event and the political instability? Do you know a good source of news about madagaskar?
Thanks!
I haven't posted since December because it was dry as a bone (well.still.humid) with not a drop of rain for all of December until this week. We finally got rain three nights ago, again, the last two nights, and steadily raining right now!
Days have still been sunny.
During this time if you'd been visiting you could have been surfing, swimming, hiking, camping, boating.
Pictures on the local tourism office that showcasea few aces you couyhave visited if you'd been here...
Happy New Year People of Madagascar!
I collect postcards but I don't have one from Madagascar.
Can someone send me a postcard from there?
Thank you in advance! :)
Hello everyone!
I'm seeking to buy a new laptop and could use your help! I'm working with a moderate budget (=<2M), so I'm looking for some trustworthy recommendations on where to purchase a good quality laptop here in Madagascar, more specifically in Antananarivo.
My current choice would be a Lenovo Thinkpad T480 or T14 Gen 1 with AMD CPU.
Should I buy locally from a computer shop in my city, or is it better to order online overseas and have it delivered? Are there any reliable online retailers or services you've had good experiences with? I want to make sure I'm getting a fair price and quality product from a trustworthy source. I already searched in FB Marketplace but it is difficult to assert if it is a good or bad trade.
Any advice from the Madagascar community would be greatly appreciated! I'm new to laptop shopping here, so I want to make sure I do it right. Trustworthiness is key, so please let me know if you have any go-to spots you can recommend.
Thanks in advance for your help!
EDIT: Thank you all for your recommendation 😁
My friend and I want to shoot low budget movies and we'd like to use blank guns as we have close to no experience with the use of cgi.
What's the legality status of blank guns in Madagascar? As we found certain websites that can ship to Madagascar but in the process could it get confiscated and get me incarcerated for attempting to ship it to the country?
Hello,
I just moved to Tana and I’m hoping to meet people and get recommendations. How to move about without a car ? What should I visit in Tana?
Looking for recommendations for restaurants and places to hang out. Also, looking for a “grande surface” near city center. My apartment doesnt have dish towels or tupperwares, etc.
Thanks in advance!
Hello! I am just dropping a question here to see if anyone has visited either of these locations? We’re planning on staying at Tsara Komba on the South end of Nosy Ambaraviato but due to availability have to find another hotel for the remaining few nights. We’re considering staying at Komba Cabana on the North of the island or Diana Lodge which is located in Ankify. If anyone has visited either location (not necessarily the lodges), I’d love to know if you’d recommend it/ what there is to see and do, to help us decide. Thanks!
Hello,
I am travelling to Madagascar in April with my partner and will be in Antananarivo and Nosy Be for a period of time.
Could someone please provide me with a list of local foods/drinks that we must try. We want to explore and experience as much of the local culture as possible and try as much of the local cuisines as we can.
Also if anyone has any restaurant recommendations that would be great!
Thank you!!!!
Hello, I am thinking of visiting Madagascar, but not as just a short term travelling, people of my country can take up to 3 months visa, so how about come to for example the capital, Antananarivo, rent an apartment, ... Doing there online job (i am a remote worker freelancer), and travel at free time (weekends) to national parks to see lemurs and beautiful nature. Had somebody such experience in Madagascar? Is it possible to go to different spots by a public transportation, and not with rental car and driver? I mean to have more freedom in living and travelling there.
