Hey fellow Redditors,
I'm reaching out in desperation, hoping someone can help me with a pressing issue. I've recently started a small beauty business, and I've ordered some essential equipment from China. The equipment is currently in transit by sea, but I'm facing a major hurdle - I don't have the funds to cover the shipping costs.
I had initially set aside K3,800 for shipping, but unfortunately, I had to use that money to cover some unexpected expenses, including land rates and council fees that I needed to help my mom with. I've been desperately applying for jobs to raise the cash, but so far, no luck.
Time is running out, and I'm worried that if I don't make the shipping payment soon, I'll start incurring storage fees. The equipment cost me K7,000, and I'm eager to get my business off the ground.
I'm open to any form of assistance - whether it's a loan, a job opportunity, or even an investment in my business. If you're interested in the beauty industry and would like to explore the possibility of partnering with me, I'd be happy to discuss the details with you.
Alternatively, if you're simply a kind soul willing to lend a helping hand, I'd be grateful for any contribution, no matter how small.
Please help me get my business back on track!
Edit: I'll be happy to provide more information about my business and the equipment I've ordered to anyone who's interested in helping.
Edit : for individual willing to help by pointing me in the direction of a job here is a brief summary or my skills and qualifications

I have a couple of items I want to buy from an online store. The only issue I have is the address for receiving them. Do I need to go the the post office to get an address?
I'm new to this whole thing so if anyone has experience ordering online, some info about it would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone have experience / know someone that has gone to the US or UK to work as a caregiver? I hear you can get a job to take care of old people for example. Thanks!
what do you think are some of the legitimate ways of leaving the country for greener pastures? there must be some ways or methods that a person can take to leave?
I'm curious what people's thoughts are on the two syllabi. Which one is better? Advantages or disadvantages of both. Please share your thoughts.
What are some red flags you look out for in zambian men or women as you explore the dating landscape.Am tired of getting played you guys😭
I have been wondering lately, has anyone used any of the services below & what has their experience been like? (Excluding Zesco). I've noticed not alot of people bring them up but the appear on the mobile money mode of payment option.
Hello everyone!
i do alot of transactions in china using an alipay account, but the local rmb converters have started increasing their rates to a point its affecting my business. what methods do you use when you require RMB while in zambia?
I'm looking to compile a list of local stores with online websites where you can shop and have items delivered within Zambia. I’ll start by sharing a couple that I've personally used and had good experiences with. Feel free to add any others you know about:
Looking forward to hearing your suggestions!
The way zesco has treated this power situation is very bad. Those of us in Group E barely get power. Our Fridges are now rat and cockroach infestation zones. My curiosity is that are we saying as Africans those who have been out in charge of Zesco with Thier PHD and masters degree have failed to find alternatives and means to solve this crisis? Can we Africans be able to run our affairs ? Business community, lower classes are collapsing daily. At what point will our leaders have empathy and make us the people a priority. It's just a thought
Has anyone bought land or plots from Palmridge Properties?
Huge congratulations to Barbra on her impressive double win! She's been named CAF Women's Player of the Year AND selected for the prestigious CAF FIFPro Women's Best XI!

Things to do in Lusaka on Christmas Eve & Christmas?

Looking to Join or Start a Book Club in Lusaka!
Hi everyone!
I’m a book lover (F22) looking to join a book club here in Lusaka—or start one if there isn’t already something going on. I’m into thriller, fantasy (including dark fantasy and young adult fantasy), and suspense, but I’m open to exploring other genres too.
The idea is to pick a book, read it, and meet once or twice a month at a cozy café or another cute spot to discuss it. We could even take turns choosing the books to keep things interesting.
If enough people are interested, we can also make a WhatsApp group to stay connected and coordinate our meetings.
If you already have a book club, I’d love to join! And if not, let’s create one together! Drop a comment or message me if you’re interested.
Looking forward to connecting with fellow book lovers! Even 5 people would do, it’ll make it more manageable!🥹
So ever since I was young I have observed that light skinned people are more attractive to most people than dark skinned people (this is from my own observation of course, it could be different for u guys).
When a light skinned is around peoole will instantly note how good looking they are, while dark skinned it will take one or two looks for people to see the good looks😅.
Especially mixed people, it appears these have a higher market in the dating pool
So have u guys also observed that people in our country generally find light skinned /mixed people to he more good looking than dark skinned people
NOTE: the question does not really need your preference on skin colour, just curious to know if I'm the only one who has observed this
Can anyone recommend a nice hotel in Ndola? Thank you.
We are coming from the USA to visit some friends in a small town near Ndola. What gifts should we bring?
They requested Community Coffee.
They have 4 kids at home -3 boys (ages 16 who is 6’3, 14, and 12) and 1 girl (age 9).
We are coming from Texas so I was thinking a bracelet kit for the girl and Texas T-shirts for the boys.
Do you all have any better ideas?
With great thanks!
Good evening, does every zambian woman's family demand lobola? Also what is the usual range and factors that affect it if any.
I've seen many Europeans and Americans buying these figuratively cheap fast foods and the portions vs the price looks so good , but here things such as hungry lion , KFC, pizza costs a 3 figure price and others even more , now what are the economics to this because I thought of the housled income average in Zambia it's about 2500-4000 kwacha not sure about Europe and america , so anyway what's the economics to this for people who have been abroad, is it just because they have better economies
I'm considering doing a sensitive consultation with a doctor but concerned it might be randomly someone connected to family as doctors rotate between the hospital I want to go to and the ones with family members.
Is confidentiality practiced and taken seriously by our medical personnel?
I’m looking to make more friends and would love to hear your advice! I’m a tech enthusiast and a mobile app developer who enjoys coding, gaming, and exploring new ideas. While I mostly spend time on my projects, I’d love to connect with like-minded people. How do you approach meeting new people or building friendships? Any tips or suggestions are appreciated!
So I was watching a little video by jubilee about finding middle ground between vegans and meat eaters and it got me wondering as to whether or not we have a vegan community in Zambia. So if you happen to be vegan or know someone that is please share your experience as well as meat eaters what's your take on being vegan and all.
Title. But for more situational context, do you think its inappropriate for a man to wear earrings at church/work? Even if they are really inconspicuous. I've noticed lingering looks from women mostly, doesnt really matter the age range early twenties to late forties, they all seem to have an opinion they clearly want to voice out but opt out of it.
I recently completed my first year in university and it was hell in everyway possible and one thing I noticed was that most people from private schools like me had a way harder time in this public university. I'm on a school loan btw . Do you think people from private secondary and primary schools find public universities harder ? If so then why ?
2.Engeeners 3.surgeons 4. IT specialists 5.i want to say lawyers but I'm not sure ,
What do you think , is this accurate enough ?
As some of you may have noticed, in the past year or so, we have had an uptick of relationship/dating themed posts on this sub. I would say they are too many for my liking but maybe that's just me. While I am not opposed to such posts being posted on this forum (heck, I have posted one myself.) I am here to provide an update to the last point on that post as I feel it might help a few lost boys and girls. For those that may not want to go and read my old post to get my intro, I will echo that I'm a single, heterosexual male in my late 20s who's done slightly worse than my peers in my career (so, no I am not in a position to be buying affection from these women.) While I still self-identify as handsome, I have reason to believe women might have their own take on my physical appearance. My lifestyle doesn't deviate too far from the norm of a young, middle-class, Zambian male and I have what I would describe as "moderately interesting" hobbies. With that out of the way, let's continue;
As I stated in my previous post, I have always been profoundly sceptical of OLD apps, largely because of how disastrous they've been in more affluent nations. I decided to suspended my bias temporarily and try to get a few dates on these platforms. After combing through the PlayStore (Yes, I am team Android. Down with the Bourgeoisies) I discovered that only 4 apps have an active presence in Zambia, namely; Bumble, OkCupid, Tinder and Badoo. No idea why Hinge haven't yet come to the party. I have actively used the first 3 and dabbled on the last one for about a week.
One thing that put a lot of guys off OLD (and arguably attracted a few) is that these platforms have earned a reputation as a hook up center; a place to get cheap and/or easy sex. This has not been my experience at all. While there are a handful of women that have openly expressed their eagerness to do bad manners, they are vastly outnumbered by women just wanting friendship and marriage. Not that I went there looking for a hookup.
Of the 3 OLD platforms, I found that women were most willing to go on dates and interact on Bumble. While I did get more matches on OkCupid and Tinder, many of them tended to either just stop texting or flake when it came to setting up a video call or meeting up in person. Someone told me that that may be because some people are just there for validation, e.g. "How many likes can I get?"
Women do tend to lie about their age a lot on these apps and from my conversations with women, men lie about their relationship status a lot. Tread carefully before you start getting "serious." Speaking of the word serious.
Nearly 75% of all profiles I landed upon say they wanted a man that was "serious," and ready for marriage. This puzzled me because if this is the case, how on earth did OLD apps gain their reputation as an online hang-and-bang?
Physical requirements don't seem to matter as much as they do in more affluent nations. At least for women selecting men. Either that, or I need to call Paco Rabanne and ask them why they rejected my application to be a male model.
In case there is anything else you would like to know or your experience contradicts one of my points the comments section is open for you to do so.
Apparently he didn't conduct himself well?
A few days ago I saw a post saying Zamtel are faking their offers and I've confirmed it.
Yesterday I bought the 3.5gb 3 day offer at K10 but as of today 10:58 my balance shows that I have 112mb left. I checked my data usage and lo and behold I've actually only used 1.66gb. where has the 1.9 gb gone? This is outrageous. Daylight robbery.
