Is it just me or is it hard to find a girl with the same interests as you ( for marriage purposes of course). I know liking the same things is not as important as good morals and loyalty. However I can’t help myself wanting for a deeper connection, something to do together, to talk about. In our community people like to keep they’re hobbies hidden and it’s quite difficult to break that wall to get to know if this person compatible with you. Anyway i just felt writing this what do you think
Hi, is anyone in noukchott at the moment who's planning to go to senegal tomorrow (2.4.) and had a spare seat which I can take? Will pay for fuel of course. Thanks a lot
In the past week, CENI was accused of corruption by:
CENI denies all these by:
These all sound too frequent to be happening within a span of a week. Is this normal? Will this lead to something? How do you think does this affect the upcoming elections?
I appreciate your replies. Ramadan Kareem.
Does anyone know where I can find Azawad red green tea in New York City? My Mauritanian bodega owner really misses it and I want to give him some once Ramadan is over. Can't find it for order online either.
Thanks in advance!
Any travel tips for Mauritania?
Good evening guys, do you know if there are any amazigh people of mauritania? whether small or large percentage?
Hey, I'm currently working on my Bachelor's thesis, it explores the complexities of the "Arab" identity and how its hard to tell who really is Arab (ie: is it ethnic, is it cultural, linguistic, etc.) and I was wondering what your thoughts are on this subject.
I've created this little survey for my methodology, I would love if you could answer it (if not that's all good too!!)
And would someone who’s never lived in a hot climate struggle to fast in Mauritania for the first time?
I'm going to be travelling in Mauritania in the coming months and I was wondering if French or english would be more useful to get around? Also how is the French language perceived over there? I speak english and a few other languages. My French isn't great but I can brush up to a good level of French a lot quicker than I can learn Arabic from the start 😂 thanks in advance ❤
From what I've read it's in West Africa but it's culture is quite arab-berber I think(pls don't roast don't know much about the country)
Hello, I'm not sure where to go for health check up I have a bit of a chronic pain in my legs. Any recommendations and the pricing will be very helpful. Thank u
Hey, I'm Oisín, I'm from Ireland. I'm planning a trip around West/North West Africa. I want to come from Morocco, to Mauritania and on to Senegal. My question is though within Mauritania I know of the ore train and I would love to try go on it through your beautiful country. Is it really as random as everyone seems to say or is there any way of figuring out when it's coming, where its going and when to get on? Is it illegal or completely casual?
Also a small side question, is it possible to get out to the Richat structure, if so how? And of course if anyone has any Recommendations please let me know! Thank you all, Shukhran!
As salamu alaykum…. I am traveling to Mauritania from America. Do I really need a yellow fever shot ? Also… Is there a visa on arrival available at the airport ?
There have been numerous reports a couple years back that Mauritania still practiced slavery.
What do the locals think of this and how true is it? Are there slave markets?
Hey guys. So Im planning little trip- Land in Nouakchott then by local bus to Terjit. Next day bus from Terjit to Zouerat. Then go from Zouerat to Nouadhibou by iron ore train and from Nouadhibou back to Nouakchott. I would be sad end my journey here so then from Nouakchott to Dakar. Is it all possible? How it is with local transport? Can I get easily by bus to all these places? How much the transport going to cost me? Ive been looking probably everywhere but i did not find any information.
Anyway thanks for help!
Me and a friend are planning a backpacking trip from Germany to Senegal. It is hard to find any informations about the border crossings except that you should not use Rosso which i had heard from multiple people. My question would be how expensive the crossing Morocco -> Mauritania and Mauritania -> Senegal currently is with Visa and everything. In another post on the subreddit someone wrote "4k" but this can hardly be right as 4000€ would be insane. Which currency is meant and if you have any knowledge: How expensive is the bus across the border from Morocco? We are travelling on a budget and this would be something we cannot circumvent.
Inshallah I want to complete my hifdh at a Quran school when I’m back in mouritane this summer. Any suggestions? And how is the teaching like. Does the memorization go with qiraat styles or just tajweed?
How do you guys feel when european maghrebis exclude mauritania and libya from the maghreb when they say “maghreb united 🇹🇳🇩🇿🇲🇦”?
Hi,
I’m coming to Mauritania in 2 weeks for the first time. Do you have any advice that I should be aware of? Maybe some practical tips to do with money, visa, local customs, how not to get scanned or overcharged?
Hi a solo indian english speaking traveler here whats your opinion i m in my early 20s of neutral color (nor so white nor so black)
I keep reading that Mauritania is 70% Black and 30% Beidane. But every thing I watched from Mauritania on TV and YouTube makes me think it’s the other way around. I wonder if my perception is wrong, or the numbers listed on the internet are.
