Ethiopian perspective on sex and intimacy.

I'm curious about the younger generations both in Ethiopia and abroad experience and your personal view. Obviously, I think we share a similar experience growing up where it's a taboo to even discuss sex but as the new adult do you feel you still hold reservations when it comes to sex and intimacy or have you embraced sexual liberation.

Also, what's your experience when dating Ethiopians. For instance, it's far more difficult for me to be sexualy expressive with an Ethiopian broad. And I'm sure women experience the same.

The fact that Jawar restarted his cry out in public tells a lot about the current situation.

He officially started criticizing the PP right after the peace deal with the so-called "splinter" OLA group. It's really entertaining to see him trying so hard on every media platform. Every wolf in sheep's clothing will eventually be exposed, including the Fano, TPLF and some of the PP. Jawar Mohamed was acting like peaceful politician with a change of heart about Ethiopia while doing his dirty work in the background. Well we will just have to wait and see what he does next.

The Argobba People founders of East African Islamic civilizations

The Argobba people split from their closest relatives, the Amharas, mainly due to religious differences, as they adopted Islam. Scholars believe that the Aksum Kingdom's army moved south beyond Angot and encountered a nomadic group called the Galab in eastern Shewa, who are thought to be the ancestors of the Argobba. This group became known as Argobba after converting to Islam in the 10th century. Today, the Argobba claim their origins trace back to the Arabian Peninsula through Zella in modern Somaliland before settling in Ifat. They also have historical ties to the Harari and Harla peoples and consider the people of Doba their ancestors.

After the fall of Aksum, Ifat gained political importance as the Christian Ethiopian state shifted south. Ifat became an economic hub because it was situated on trade routes between Zeila and the interior, developing strong connections with the Muslim world. The Argobba are associated with the Walashma dynasty of Ifat, which later ruled the Sultanate of Ifat and the Adal Sultanate. Aswell as the Makhzumi dynasty (820-1286) of the sultanate of Shewa the first Islamic state in east Africa which came about during the decline of the kingdom of Aksum.

How easy is it for an average Ethiopian to travel abroad? What are the requirements for international travel? How do plane tickets compare to people's income?

Sexually abused by a women multiple times.

So i came across this tiktok video where a women was saying that parents should not leave theirkids with any man including their grandfather.

This really terrified me, some women thinks every man is abuser including grandfathers? WTH! I'm in my 20's (Male) i don't have kids but if i have one i know that I'll protect them till death. But there's no way in a million years that I'll suspect my father that he might sexually abuse my kids.

Growing up I've been sexually abused by older women more than 4 time. Once our house maid pushed my on my bed and pushed her self on me and tried to prevent me from living the room. I was like 9 or 10 so i didn't know what was going on i didn't even knew about sex at all.

Earlier when i was maybe 6 our neighbor who was like 20 years older than me literally pulled me under her and start to whisper sexual things on my ears. She squeezed me with her 2 hands so i couldn't go anywhere.

Even as a teenager i have couple of women who touched my private parts and all that. Am sure there are others that i forget. My mom lived abroad for some times by the time she returned home she told me that she used to be worried that i might get sexually abused. She told me that while she was abroad she used to hear about kids in Ethiopia who where sexually abused. I never told anyone till this day, i don't think it'll change anything. I have plans to visit a therapist for this and other reasons.

My question is that only Man are seen as sexual savages who'll abuse anyone, while females are always painted as victims?

Growing up i taught it was only me who was sexyally abused by older women's but as i talked to some of my friends i learned that couple of my friends where also abused. One was like 3 or 4 when it happened.

Here is the tiktok video of the women in case you want to see it.

Edit: Man and Women are different so they also have different way of sexually abusing others, i just forgot to type this.

I am a Lutheran from Europe and have recently started learning about the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church.

I am really fascinated by what I have learned so far and want to know more. The problem is that the literature available in my mother tongue and in English seems to be limited. What fascinates me most is discovering that your Church has even more books than the Roman Catholic Church, which already has more than the Lutheran Church. I would appreciate any information you can share. Do you see other Christians as brothers and sisters in Christ? I do not mean to offend anyone with these questions; I am simply interested. Thank you!

In Ethiopia , why do people look at your shoes

Everywhere I go , restaurants cafes hotels ets. First thing someone does when I try to engage with them is they look down at my shoes , and they do it in a very obvious way. Can anyone shed light on this perhaps it’s a cultural thing or are they trying to determine my social class

Ethiopian politics and the endless mistrust b/n our politicians

I was watching this video that was posted 11 months back and it occurred to me that it shows how our politicians are in a never ending/deadlock state.

Recommend watching it https://youtu.be/mScpHTIi-kM?si=MgkdJh4EY2c4nek7
