Hi I sponsored this boy on World Vision who lives in Eswatini and was sent this 15second video by his family. Could anyone please translate this for me? Much appreciated.
Im an American who's been in Africa for several months and am hoping to visit Swaziland for a few days I'll be entering from the Mozambique border.
First off what are the visa costs for an American and what currency do I need to use to buy my visa at the border?
Second off are there buses that go from Maputo to either Malkerns or Mbabane? Those are the 2 places I'm hoping to get to. And also is it easy to travel between those 2 cities?
And lastly are there buses that go from either of those 2 towns back to Maputo?
If anyone has prices and schedules or even WhatsApp contact of a driver that would be much appreciated I'm hoping to see your beautiful country soon. Thanks in advance.
Hello, we are a group of psychology researchers from the University of Kent, UK. It would be a huge help if anyone from any background who is interested would fill out our quick survey (18+ years old only) about your views of politics, society, and more.
Fill out the survey here: https://universityofkent.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8ICkX7mBre5IGpM
We are posting here because we hope to collect responses from a wide range of political perspectives and backgrounds. Please let us know if you would like a summary of your responses in comparison to others once the data collection is complete.
The survey takes 15-30 minutes to complete, and we are happy to respond to any queries or questions. Please private message us to avoid giving away the point of the study to others.
Thanks for your time.
Edit: The survey is now closed! Thank you very much for your time, we will be sure to post the results up here when they're ready.
Hello! I am going to visit Swaziland crossing from Mozambique. I have a touristic VISA to be in Mozambique and as i can tell it is fine to cross borders to SA and Eswaniti. We are going with friends that have their on car, Mozambique plate. We need some special paperwork or insurance to cross the border and drive around Eswaniti? (To SA we are renting a bigger van)
Thanks!
I don't care if the country is officially called Eswatini now, Swaziland is an awesome name for a country, and I will always refer to the country as Swaziland. It's just such a cool sounding name and it's so fun to say. Long live Swaziland!
E.g. if you are white how are black people viewed by white people and vice versa? I want to go there soon. I am white and from the UK. If people are being racist is there a way to safely handle it?
Pm me for more info. I am a legitimate businessman so please be civil.

Greetings! I am wanting to cook a meal from Eswatini and one of the dishes I want to make is "chicken dust" - seems like grilled chicken with a dry rub seasoning. However, I'm not finding any specific recipes for the seasoning mix. Can anyone here tell me what seasonings/spices would be appropriate? Thank you in advance!
We will be arriving at King Mswati III International Airport, Eswatini. We would like to do a car safari in a nature reserve park called Murirwane Wildlife Sanctuary. What transportation options are available to Manzini once we arrive at the airport?
What options are available to send small amounts like a few hundred rand from SA to eSwatini? Does eWallet work? Can I send Capitec cardless cash to eSwatini?
I dreamed in the early 2000s that I visited a humble African village in an unknown country where black tribespeople were dressed in traditional clothing and put "matarr" somewhere on their bodies for some kind of ritual.
If Matarr is a word in any of your country's languages, what does it mean in English and how is it used?
If Matarr is an item used in any of your rituals, what more can you tell me about that ritual and why does the Matarr need to be used in it?
Can anyone recommend a reliable online translator from English to Swazi please, I keep trying and short of hiring a professional translator, there doesn't seem to be much hope. Literally just need to translate the word "home" and or the phrase "home is not where you live, home is where you belong", for an art piece for a friend. Thank you!
ok, so I am making a series where I cook every national dish and my first step is to come to the sub and ask the question.
now I understand that not every country has a defined national dish and that some countries have many different regions with different cuisines. in that case I will make the one that you guys agree on best represents Swaziland. please let me know what you think
and, is it Swaziland or Eswatini??
Hello! I'm from Argentina and I'm a big fan of national teams tournaments. I usually like to have an Excel with all the players who are at the tournament that I'm watching. Right now I'm watching the COSAFA Cup and wanted to know if you could help me.
The formats that I use to write the player's names are: Name SURNAME, SURNAME Name or NAME NAME, depending on the country.
As I'm not familiar with Swazi culture and naming traditions I don't know if you usually write names before or after surnames, if people normally have two names and a surname, a name and two surnames, or if maybe players are commonly know only by their first two names or if you even use surnames at all.
For example, what would be the correct way?:
- Siyabonga MTHOKOZISI GWEBU
- Siyabonga Mthokozisi GWEBU
- SIYABONGA Mthokozisi Gwebu
- etc
I hope you understood and can help me :D
just met some people from Eswatini. They say "naigi naigi" when they have beer. what does it mean?

I'm working on a list of every country's most iconic cult film (list here: https://boxd.it/n5ZFs) and wondered if anyone could help me figure out Eswatini's entry. I'm looking for a film that might not be well-known outside the country's borders. Perhaps it's a film everyone knows, and is hugely popular only to Eswatini's audiences, even if it wasn't popular with critics. Or maybe it's a film that wasn't well-received by audiences or critics, but has gained a cult following in the years since its release. Any suggestions would be most welcome!
Hello guys,
I am currently planning to visit Eswatini and maybe Lesotho in September. I don't know why but I had a crush on this country and I know I must see it with my eyes. I would like some advice on this future trip.
My plan would be to fly from france to SAF then take a bus to the capital. Is it a great option ?
Then I would rent a car to be able to travel easily inside the country.
What are the main things to do/see during this period ? and how long should I stay to get a proper experience of the country ?
Is it safe to travel there by car/ alone ?
Thank you for your help,
Cheers !
Hi all, I'll be visiting Eswatini/Swaziland in early June on a missions trip. (Coming from the Western Cape, South Africa). I would very much like to learn at least basic siSwati phrases/greetings/responses before this. Do you know of any online resources that might help?
