So, I have started to do this, at least in my own area because it usually takes me 1 minute, or sometimes 30 seconds, then I park. I never drive on the wrong side (and that also in my own area) if it will go beyond 1 minute. Will it make it right? NO. Because people NOT living here will still find it an inconvenience... but it does save A LOT OF MY TIME (because then it is getting stuck at the back and narrow roads and what not).

we pride ourselves on being a "Muslim" country, yet treat animals in the worst ways imaginable. I've seen such horrible cases. Cats, dogs, cattle, donkey, birds. Even poultry, I saw the condition of some chicken shops and it made me sick.

do Pakistanis not realize these are living breathing creatures? that they will testify against us on the day of judgement? that Allah will ask us about every single cruelty we committed against them? They are "Beyzubaan" they cant raise their voice against us, they are at the mercy of humans. Its so heartbreaking.

Why does the chicken Pakistan have a different texture to other countries. My experience is uk, France and the US. They all have chicken that is similar in texture when you chew it. Pakistani chicken feels more…chewy I guess. This is when it’s home cooked or from restaurants. What gives?

I don't know why it seems like members of our community need to visit a baby in the immediate days after birth, to the point that the mother and family become utterly exhausted. Is there no concept of allowing the family some space and time to bond and rest? I know we understand the significance of the 40 days or the chilla. Why do people feel the urge to go and sit at the house where a baby was born for hours? Why do they feel the urge to hold a newborn baby even though it has no immune system yet? You can't say anything because then you will be seen as cutting off ties. It seems like other cultures understand concept of letting the new mother rest. How can one rest if you have guests every single day for the first few weeks after birth? A relative of mine had a baby 2 weeks ago and their guests have been nonstop. They are doing a haqiqa party now just to be done with guests. Do people lack any self awareness?

I am an Arab-American Christian dating a non-religious Pakistani-English man. While he and his mother were born in the United Kingdom, his father was born in Pakistan. His father and grandparents are devout muslims, however all of his 3 sisters work in England, go out alone and to concerts alone, and don’t wear hijabs, same with his mother, although she wants him to memorize the Quran (which he doesn’t want).

Does anyone have any tips on meeting them for the first time? I am Arab which helps a bit but I am also Christian. Should I bring sweets? I plan to wear loose pants, a nice shirt, and a long sweater (similar to an abaya). I know she likely won’t approve at first just due to the fact I’m not Pakistani, but does anyone have any tips to help her like me? I can cook haha!

Before anyone reads, please dont just start hating. I am at a very confused and low point in life. Financially and mentally.

I graduated in july in BSc CS. Havent found jobs or internships yet. I am planning on going for masters in fall 2025. I graduated with a decent gpa and one of the main scholarships im targeting is GREAT british council scholarship which is partial but itll help me out alot (i wont have living costs in uk as ill be living with relatives)

The main criteria of selection is gpa but also personal statement. Demonstrating how you are active in your field and can make good use of the scholarship and how itll help you. People have told me ive to tell them what exactly i want to do etc. Now my profile is very mediocre. And thats why i am so lost. I havent done anything ordinary. its such a privilege to focus just on studies/career just for the sake of making something out of yourself rather than constantly having to worry about where to pay fee from and doing side jobs in sales etc to take care of myself while studying.

anyway even scholarship aside, i feel so unfulfilled. I have different plans everyday and then i realise i cant pursue them, alone especially.

How should i improve my profile and be more active in the tech space and have more extra curricular. I cant execute my app ideas etc because again, hard to manage alone (not just projects but turning them into startups with users). Should i join non profit tech organisations or start one myself (again no connections so how). Because i tried joining but the only roles they have are of students ambassadors and i am not one anymore. (like pakistan women in computing). Like what is it at all that i can be a part of and do? I am constantly applying for jobs too but as they dont seem to be working, i wanna do something else while im at it to demonstrate my abilities.
