The year is 2045. Pakistan team is as unpredictable as ever. Kids are told the stories of once legend Babar Azam, who in his era, was a strong pillar for team Pakistan. Since then, many new players and talents joined team Pakistan. It's time for squad announcement for champions trophy 2045 to be held in Afghanistan. The list is here and to no one's surprise, one name pops on top of the list, it's none other than Rana Faheem Ashraf. No one knows why 51 year old Rana is choosing to honor Pakistan cricket by selecting himself. It's an age old secret that only Rana knows. Legends say he has links beyond imagination and can buy whole tournament if he wants, but still chooses to remain humble. Rana's career records may not be good on paper but it's the aura and personality that the whole nation is proud of. Rana vows to serve nation for another 50 years and play every tournament despite his busy routine.
Ok guys convince me that they won't win.
Batting Avg of 10 Bowling Avg of 46
The reason is that they saw his potential in bpl as a opener(yes he is a flop internationally but so was saim ayub after a year he started performing) I believe we are being to harsh at him and I think he will open with fakhar in the squad as we need a player who is aggressive batter like saim ayub as Younis Khan said if fakhar and saim ayub both played we will be able to score 400( the best player who matchs that aggressive player detail is Usman khan unfortunately) that is the reason he is added into the squad don't panic just believe in him it's time we show support to him
Batsmen like Babar and Rizwan using flat pitches in pindi to score runs and pacers like Hasan ali and Shaheen shah afridi destroying the south african defense with pace bowling. No tail enders scoring big runs under Azhar Ali's captaincy as well. Flat pitches were not the problem, the problem is that our pacers have lost the ability to break through the batsmens defense in test cricket. Even though this wasn't totally flat, it was also not a land mine for spinners to take 10 wickets each inning even south african pacers like Nortje and Rabada had sucesses on this pitch. What happened?
Look, before you start yelling in the comments I want you to listen to what I have to say :D and maybe it will bring some sense into why the CT25 Squad ain't bad and how it's actually really good. Now please read all of this trust me imma cook or at least I'll try :>
Soooo 1st let's talk bout the players I like to call "reliable" call em whatever u want tbh but they are basically the players that everyone or most people are satisfied with and they are like must-haves and the anchors of the squad, they include M.Rizwan (he has had great performances in Pakistan and Dubai), Babar Bhai (uhhhhhh), Fakhar Zaman (absolute powerhouse prob the best batsman for Pakistan and Dubai pitches), Shaheen Shah (great bowler ig), Haris Rauf (very dependable wicket taker), Naseem Shah (great with new bowl and great death bowler, along with that he is good for giving batting tips to Babar), and I will include the 2 emerging batsmen as well which are Kamran and Tayyab who will fight for the same spot but I think that they are both reliable and it's worth it to give them a chance for the big stage. Also there is Abrar who is our only spinner and is better for bowling ten overs than Shadab (and he is our only spinner and a mystery spinner so he seems like a really solid pick to me if u have anything to say bout him let me know:D)
Okay now time for the controversial picks starting with Hasnain who replaced Wasim Jr. and a lot of ppl really don't like that, mostly saying that Wasim Jr. is a menace with the old ball WHICH is true if u think about it BUT they have to remember that Hasnain is NOT a bad bowler. He has had great performances in Pakistan as well as in general. It's worth giving him a chance, and also note that there is a very low chance that he will be a part of the main squad anyway because of Abrar taking a spot in the lower order. Hasnain is a good player and has some good bowling skills just give him a chance :) he also has a bunch of experience and ofc has played numerous times internationally for Pakistan and has played many leagues across the world. Ig Wasim jr.'s performance did drop after 2023 and Hasnain is fairly consistent so a good pick :D
Next is Usman Khan, which we needed a second wicket keeper and he has better stats than Haseebullah Khan. Note that Haseebullah doesn't have an actual really good performance in his career that couldve made him a part of this squad, and I believe Usman Khan has potential to go big or clutch up for Pakistan especially IN Pakistan where we know how well he can perform. Also remember that in 2017 Fakhar getting picked was just like Usman getting picked rn in 2025 on the same basis so you never know what he can do, maybe he can do something like Fakhar did 8 years ago....
Next is the 3 all rounders. Salman Ali Agha getting picked over Shadab was a good choice. He is a good batsman especially for ODI's and has very good potential to build up or anchor an innings along with his very useful spin which can be used for 3-4 overs unlike having Shadab to bowl 10 which is just utterly useless from Sheddy. Khushdil Shah and Faheem Ashraf being picked is the most controversial part I think, and I would say there was deep thinking behind it. First Faheem, who is a great powerhitter/finisher, better than Aamer Jamaal because of his experience and past international matches for Pakistan. I think it would be hard picking Faheem over Aamer still but one has to be picked, but remember Faheem is a good bowler nonetheless and he has good bowling experience in Pakistan (including his 72 wickets in the PSL) and decently good performance in Pakistani pitches. Faheem was given a chance and picked over Aamer so let's hope he can perform well even though he might not be picked much because of Khushdil Shah just being a better player. Khushdil Shah just has very good records in Pakistani pitches and ofc is a great powerhitter for final overs. He even has experience playing in Dubai and I can still remember him having great impact finishing up the game against India in the semi-final of the 2021-2022 Asia Cup in Dubai. His spin is probably the reason he was picked up over Irfan Khan Niazi because Pakistan only has 2 spinners and Khushdil is great at powerplay-spinning which is super useful in Pakistani pitches.
There u have it, I'd say an 8/10 squad and of u have anything to say feel free to do it in the comments or dm me, and remember cricket is for fun and we should spend more time supporting our team than criticizing our players to enjoy the sport like we did in 2017
Who knows... We might even win...
Remember Guys!
Its Pakistan Cricket that needs Rana, not the other way around.
Hi,
I heard that tickets cant be sold to anyone as your name must match
Anyone know if its possible to resell ticket? I have an extra one.
If we're already rolling with three genuine pacers, Faheem in the playing xi feels pointless in Pakistani conditions. He’s neither a solid bowling option nor adds much with the bat. You will need to utilize Abrar as much as you can and balance things out with Khushdil and Agha. Gonna be interesting to see how Rizwan handles the middle overs against each team since all teams have different types of players. Real test of his captaincy skills. No need to mess around with different combinations in tri-series, it can haunt you in the tournament.
Here's my xi.
Fakhar
Saud / Usman
Babar
Rizwan
Kamran / Tayyab
Agha
Khushdil
Shaheen
Naseem
Haris / Hasnain
Abrar
Here is what I would select in my playing XI from the squad we have
(No brainer, very good opener with an average of 46 has many gears and can win matches single handedly for you)
(Hear me out very versatile player with sweeps and 360 shot making)
(Again no brainer averages 56)
(Good under pressure has gears)
(The experienced middle order player frrr averages 47 in the middle in odis I see crazies include kg at 5 over him with no knowledge, he's better for 3 lol)
(No Brainer)
(Very leg ka lapadu I don't know how he is over Irfan niazi but he can hit)
(Able to bat here no brainer he's included)
(Obviously)
(Pace bowler)
(Mid af hasnain dunno how he got in, abrar only special spinner should've had Sufyan)
Bench: KG
Should fly back home:Faheem Ashraf(f off) and Usman Khan
If Pakistan needed a replacement for Saim and players who can be 6th bowler (fast and spin). Then honestly the squad below covers it.
This is a deserving squad with 2 spin options, 5 pace options, openers and young middle order.
How do they mess up a squad that is so hard to mess up post the Aus and SA series in odi. All you needed was another proper opener/middle order player, a keeper and a pace bowling allrounder.
Haseebullah would’ve been a good pick since the tournament is in home conditions plus he can keep and can play in the middler order too, not to mention he is a leftie thats 3 birds with one stone. Can you seriously imagine Usman opening against the likes of starc, bumrah, wood, etc lmfao.
Jahandad or Jamal would’ve been a good choice as they can actually bowl quick plus they are good power hitters at the end as well. Rana has played no international cricket since 2023 bro, how did this dude comeback from nowhere.
Saud is good option though because him and agha can actually sweep and play the spinners pretty well which might be useful in Dubai especially against India. Khushdil will also play in the 11 just because we need power hitters plus he can bowl useful overs which we lost after Saim’s injury, him and Agha will complete the fifth bowler role together.

Is filthy rich, comes from influential family, has connections, could have easily sat home and inherited a fortune with a fat belly, still chose play cricket professionally
We simply aren't worthy of him.
Context: Arman Tsarukyan is an MMA fighter from Armenia who is pretty rich but just competes for fun, and by fun I mean challenging Islam Makhachev for lightweight belt.
What do you guys think ?
