Only 1 50 since his decent 2022 WC campaign. He has so badly in 2024, that his career SR is now lower than Rizwan and Babar, even though is supposedly our "power hitter".

He's also quite one dimensional. He can't create his own angles or find gaps, he can only play power shots, which makes it easier to bowl at him. Not to mention, he struggles with spin. I don't think there's really any reason for him to be in the squad. His "off spin" will not be of any use against quality sides at WC, so for all intents and purposes he's a specialist batsman.

Please don’t tell me haris rauf bowls 150+ or shaheen is the fastest t20 wicket taker or we made it to two world cup semi finals and finals. I am talking about skilll to skill. Recently we have been white washed by England at home. lost test series to Australia, Lost 4-1 to newzealand in newzealand and drew the series 2-2 with New Zealand 3rd tire team at home. also lost badly in the asia cup+World cup. Do you guys think when an overseas team visits south asia, pakistan team is just about as threatening as Bangladesh-srilanka?

Our b team even lost series to Afghanistan meanwhile we have teams like New Zealand whose B team beats other stronger A teams at their home. On skill level are we on par with Bangladesh-srilanka? I thought we were in the ranks of England,new zeland and Australia. But since the 2022 wc we have been really down. T20 is our best format and we haven’t won a single t20 series since october 2022. Forget about ODI test series win.Ik we can beat bangladesh in a match but i am talking about our team’s winning predictability against foreign teams compared to teams like Bangladesh-Srilanka?

Hey everyone. The WC is not that far away. So i thought let's have a debate of which bowlers and spinners should and should not go the WC in June.

Our Bowling lineup hasn't looked this good in a very long time. If we only consider seam bowlers who are likely to join. We have: Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Mohammed Amir, Abbas Afridi, Zaman Khan and Wasim junior.

Our Spin selection might be few: Shadab Khan, Imad wasim, Usama Mir and Abrar Ahmed. Iftikhar Ahmed and Saim Ayub are more likely to bowl if condition are very spin friendly. Otherwise i would ignore them If we be totaly honest. We might only need 7-8 bowlers and spinners in total.

Who do you guys think should Join. And who shouldn't. And the reason why. Are there any other players i didn't consider?

I know it doesn't bode good for trying to make a point. It is not a try to project me to be a know it all, but I do have some first class experience of playing here and in middle east( not first class there) so I would like to just talk my heart out, not at all any intention of teaching anyone ( sorry for long intro)

1. You can't compare any league with international cricket. More so , ipl , ipl is scripted, with below par bowling, in short WWE for cricket, same as PSL, for us.
2. T20 may be a shorter format, but still it's 120 balls game, any semblance of balance between ball and bat, you got to have serious skills to score, it is still not mindless 6 over game.
3. Whatever the trends may be in local games, the big games are still 170- 190 affairs, bowlers are not just punching bags.
4. Few things never change, nothing stops the scoring rate like falling wickets, again, you need skills to score, seasonal flukes may speak whatever, we have seen so many so called finishers in international arena, failing miserably.
5. One series, one year, that doesn't mean we become indian mindless reactionary folks, try to understand the game, skill is everlasting, flukes are not.
6. Social media has a presence, it has its pressures, be responsible, this may damage someone in greater schemes of things.

Learn to respect those who deserve it

We can offer millions of dollars to secure the services of foreign coaches, but nobody in their right mind has thought of hiring a smart commercial director who can turn PCB into a financially adept brand. Like someone who can secure lucrative kit deals like India did with Adidas.
Apart from Slazenger, we've never had a good kit deal. Brands should be paying us millions to be our kit manufacturers, but nobody pays attention to such things. Not even sure who is making our kits right now as there is no branding on our jerseys. Such a missed opportunity.

The boys were so happy to draw the series 2-2.

It was actually funny.

Babar comes at one down and Rizwan has to adjust at number 4, fixes a lot of problems for us especially the powerplay scores that we have been putting up. Saim and Fakhar will most probably be out early in the innings so Babar and Rizwan can help in the middle phase as well.

Saim Ayub has a lot of potential like he showed us in the PSL last year and this year and he even performed in the CPL however he has been failing in international cricket and Mohammad Haris showed us his intent back in 2022 with a sensational PSL season and World Cup in Australia but he's recently had a bit of a drop off. I feel that these two could some day open for Pakistan but right now they're too inexperienced. I've seen a lots of intent and aggression from these two and I reckon they could be prospects for t20 cricket and the PCB should back them.

[This World Cup has assigned spots for Super 8 round, so Pakistan will go to Group 2, no matter they come first in the group.]

So assuming the above picture to be how things will go, Pakistan will play USA , India, Canada and Ireland respectively in the first round.

Pakistan can win easily against USA and Canada. But win against Ireland will be very important as well as putting up good game against India. If Pakistan wins 3/4, they go to next round.

Next round, Pakistan will face England from Group B, WI/Afghanistan (Afg in my opinion) from Group C and South Africa from Group D (assuming these three teams make it to the next round).

Here Pakistan will have to win 2 out of 3 to go to the semi finals. All three games will be tough as all three teams are very strong. Pakistan will have to put up very good performances even if they're losing the game.

Depending on how other pitches and teams play, Pakistan could beat Afghanistan (75% chances), South Africa (65% chances) and England (60% chance).

After that, assuming Pakistan wins 2 games, they will play Australia/India/NZ in semi final and final. Pakistan could win semi final but winning semi final is highly unlikely.

Realistically, Pakistan would be third best team in Group 2 or may play semi final but lose.

[Worse case scenarios include losing to Ireland and not going into next round at all. But if Pakistan reaches semis, it will be good enough for them and punching above their weights.]
