I am Sindhi "Baloch". I don't refer to myself as Baloch. But is there any ethnic tensions between Balochs and Pashtuns? Because they are very similar
Hello,
I run a discord server focused on Dravidian studies, and I am an amateur academic focusing on Dravidian languages (I am currently studying South Asian and Classical language at Oxford with a focus on Philology). I am looking for people of Brahui background, especially those living in and around Quetta. Knowledge of the Brahui language isn't required but would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if I can contact you! If you would like to join my server please click here and let us know you are of Brahui background in the welcome channel.
Best Regards,
Vishal
As a Baloch, I am eager to learn Balochi. Although my native language is Sindhi, I believe it’s important for me to know Balochi as well. If anyone is interested in learning Sindhi, I would be more than happy to teach them.
Me and 2 of my other friends were deciding on where to visit and like every other pakistani they suggested northern areas but i got the idea that we should go the complete opposite way. But they had some concerns over the security of that area and if this is the best time to visit Balochistan. It would be a great help if some baloch residents (the people who live there currently or have visited recently) clear my doubts. We are planning on leaving from Rawalpindi and then going to Bannu(hometown) then to Zhob then Quetta then Gwadar then to Karachi by Makran coastal highway then Multan and back. My Doubts: ●Is this the best time to travel there in the sense of weather and all. ●Is this a good route? ●Is it safe? ●I will be taking my car will that be okay? ●My friend is Baloch but doesn't speak balochi and lives in Dera Ismail will that help? ●Is the Iran border safe?

Hello everyone. I am an Author, I want my book translated into Balochi, especially since I can somewhat read and type in it. However my Balochi is horrible. Can anyone here proofread my Balochi translations? If you proofread more than 1 chapter I will pay you with a special discount on my book.
Hi, I am not sure if this is the right place, but if someone can help me that would be great. [Also, please tell me where can I ask such questions]
I have heard that Kana Yaari Coke Studio [https://youtu.be/zQDAi8tI-cU]
is a song sung in Balochi I was hoping if somebody could translate what this line in the song means and if they could transcribe it in your language. I would be grateful for that.
“Dasta da dey jaani Dasta vatiyaani”
بدے جانی، دستہ وتیگانی
Is this correct?
I am looking for a sentence something like “keep people close who are dear to you” or “make time for people who are close to you”
Any help would be highly appreciated !

Hey everyone, 👋
I'm in a bit of a dilemma and I could really use some advice from you guys. I recently received a job offer from Pak-Oman Hospital in Pasni, Balochistan. While the good package opportunity excites me, but I have some serious concerns about the safety and security of the area.
I don't have any experience of living in Balochistan, let alone Pasni which are around 450KM away from Gwadar. What are the transportation ways from Gwadar Airport to Pasni - how safe are the roads and the people? Is it safe for family too? I've heard a lot of scary stories about terrorist attacks and anti-Pakistan organizations being active in that area. Can anyone confirm or deny these reports?
I've also talked to some close friends who have experience in Balochistan, and they have advised me not to accept the job offer because of the safety/security situation in the area. I'm really confused and I don't know what to do.
So, I'm turning to you guys for help. If any of you have firsthand knowledge about the situation in Pasni/Gwadar, I would be extremely grateful for your input. I just want to make sure that I'm making an informed decision before accepting the job offer.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and I hope to hear from some of you soon. ❤️

I need help regarding a school project I am doing.
Can anyone recommend me a popular Balochi folk song and provide me with the English translation for it? The folk song should preferably be light-hearted and happy, NOT sad or depressing.
Thank you for any help!!
The text is as this:
-------------
I am the singing lamb
I bite
In the house of the elect
The green dog.
Catch me or
I will escape
I don't need you but
Don't leave me.
As good as a turkey
At singing
Like a rat
Always hidden.
All my accomplishments are
The work of others
I speak six languages
All half-assed.
I am the prince of the west
With many servants,
I bring a thousand gifts
I don't know why!
Deaf to good reasons
I'm going to perish,
At least I'm the fastest
Among the fools.
-------------
Interpretative translation is encouraged instead of literal, for example there is this line in the English version "as good as a turkey at singing" which compares bad singing to the noise made by a turkey bird, if your language for example compares bad singing to something other than a turkey I encourage you to use that translation instead (in Dutch a crow is used e.g.) or when it says "deaf to good reasons" most languages have a specific way to express deliberately ignoring good advice.
Some context to the text:
The first verse is a character introducing himself as the singing lamb, this is a literal singing lamb because it is a surrealist song text, he bites another character - the green dog (also literal) - in the house of an elected official (presumably a mayor).
In the second paragraph a new unnamed character is speaking, each paragraph then has a new speaker.
The next time a character introduces himself is in the 5th paragraph with the prince of the west. It is doubtful this character is an actual prince but it is open to interpretation by the listener. In the final paragraph another unnamed character is saying he is deliberately ignoring advice he knows to be good which will lead to his demise, he then proclaims that at the very least he will be the fastest among the fools (people who deliberately ignore good advice).
I had help from the Basque discord in getting the English version since the Original is in Basque so feel free to use that (if you don’t speak Basque), it was the first obstacle I had to take care off before this project could start. Also it is less about producing a singable translation as it is about producing a comparative translation, the goal of the project is to get a comparative index of many languages so you don't need to worry about rhyme or singablity or anything!
